Simon tried to get himself awake even though internally he was still a little panicky from waking up from such a strange dream. He waved his hands apologetically toward Mizu. "Sorry, I didn't mean to have such an extreme reaction but there's no problem at all with you shouting at me to wake up. Sometimes it's hard for me to awaken when I'm dreaming and I honestly hadn't known I had fallen asleep. But I would get into trouble if I stayed." He slid off of the bed and pulled the tray away, preparing to take it with him so that the food could be taken down to the kitchen by the morning staff. He put a hand to the switch on his way out and smiled toward Mizu. "Sweet dreams. I hope you sleep better tonight than you did last night." He quietly shut the door behind him and left the tray outside of the outer doors to Mizu's rooms. He walked down the hall a few paces and allowed his fingertips to press along the wall as he went. Simon's eyes were rather unfocused though as he remembered his dream. He usually forgot amount them almost immediately upon waking up but the surreal quality of his particular imagining had stuck in his mind and refused to get out. What had it been? Lights, a void, and then something had appeared beside him. He stopped in the middle of the hall and fell to his knees, in a sort of trance when he remembered what it had looked like. Strange, it felt so familiar but how could one say he was acquainted with a pinprick of light? He was in this stupor when Charles was roaming the halls in search of him. The man suspected that he might have fallen asleep in Mizu's room and had gone to fetch him accordingly and was duly surprised to stumble upon him in the hall shortly in front of Mizu's quarters. He leaned down and shook Simon, who sat eerily silent, purple eyes unfocused and staring at a point in the floor in front of him while his hand was still softly touching the wall. "Simon. Are you alright?" The boy lifted his head when he heard Charles' voice but he didn't respond. Charles gave him a concerned look and picked him up, deciding that perhaps he just needed rest. Oddly enough, this wasn't the first time that he'd found Simon acting oddly. It had happened several times during his early childhood. He'd slept with Simon in his room then, on a smaller bed that he'd gotten put into his room and at times he'd wake up, alarmed, to find Simon sitting up in bed and every single light on in the room. Once they had shattered, sending smaller orbs of sparkling light trailing, which should be impossible. It was odd but Charles knew that there wasn't anything bad about Simon and whenever he'd ask, the boy never remembered. So he went back to Simon's room and silently thanked Mizu in the back of his mind for the sleeping garment he had given the boy that was far better than what he could have scrounged up. He placed Simon in his own bed and turned off the lights but they stubbornly remained on. Charles sighed and went into his own room for the evening. |

" I'll do my best," murmurs Mizu, eyes half lidded as he yawns, smiling slightly. " Somehow I have a feeling I will sleep alot better, but I'm not making any promises." As Simon left the room Mizu had gotten comfortable in bed, eyes half lidded, the lights out as Mizu yawns, getting comfortable as he drifts off to sleep. Though as the shadowed water spirits eyes drifted closed and he drifted in the the realm of dreams a pale figure had apppeared, sitting at the foot of Mizu's bed, long dark purple-black hair falling around this figure as large black feathered wings flowed from their back. Red eyes shone in the darkness of the room as a gentle smile played at pale lips. " Ah, truly asleep," murmurs the figure, turning to look at Mizu as he sighs. " Good, you need your rest Mizuno Kage...you set the balance off when you don't rest..." A book floats at this strange figures side, strange symbols upon it as he smiles slightly, humming as he tilts his head. " It seems your little friends a special little thing," murmurs this pale figure, the symbok for death being seen hanging on a chain around his neck. So who exactly was this small pale being? He was none other then Shinigami aka Gami , the Spirit of Death and that book floating next to him was one of many death journals that were kept in his realm. " Well now that you're asleep little Mizu I should head off to do the rest of my job...though I'm tempted to go see this interesting friend of yours for myself..." With that Gami disappears in a whirl of darkness, only to reappear near Simon's bed, blinking at all the lights as he smirks to himself. " Oh, now THAT's interesting," murmurs Gami, looking Simon over as he giggles to himself, smiling. " So you affect the lights do ya? Give ya a few years to mature and you may very well become something amazing...I'd like to stay and play around here...but unfortunately I've still got plenty of time before I ever have to come here for business." |

Simon had reacted to Charles' familiar presence when the other man carried him to bed and had gradually closed his eyes and fell asleep. He was in this state when he thought he heard someone unfamiliar close to his bed. His limbs were so heavy in his stupor. It felt like energy was leaving him through an open channel but as the figure spoke he relaxed a bit, as though the presence of this unknown had managed to get him to wake up enough to put his personal system back in check. The internal, intangible valve was shut off and Simon truly drifted off to sleep as the lights went out around him one by one. He slept through morning and Charles came in to wake him just after sunrise, an hour or so after he usually would. The man shook Simon gently, feeling a bit more confident he could wake him now that the lights had managed to go off sometime in the middle of the night. "Hmm? Oh, morning Charlie. What time is it?' Simon asked, sitting up in bed and stretching his hands high above his head. Charles sighed with relief and ruffled his blonde hair with a half smile. "Good. You're back to normal. You did that thing again last night when you just zone out." Simon frowned and stepped out of bed, pulling the sheets under his pillows and arranging them neatly as he went over what had happened the night before. "I think I might remember this time. I fell alsep in Mizu's room and had a really weird dream. I don't remember getting back so that must have been you...but then there was this voice." He knew he wasn't making sense. Charles had that concerned frown on his lips that Simon was used to so he tried to change the subject. "But I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to think about it later. So...ack. It's past eight. Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" He asked, wide-eyed. Charles held out ah and to stop his panicking. "Because you have a new position in the house for awhile, or did you forget?" "Oh. Mizu. He's free today, isn't he? I wanted to show him around." "Yes...Caldwell said it was officially your duty to take care of Mizu though he expressed some distaste at the idea but I think that means we're doing a good job." Simon laughed. "Mizu wants to dress up together." "Is that...?" "Come on, Charlie. You're the one who said I should try and act like a girl around Mr. Caldwell. I'm still young so it's alright...I mean I guess it's not something boys usually do but it's not like it's gonna last forever." "I suppose so. Well, it'll be nice if you get nicer clothes no matter what they look like. I've tried to get extra money to set aside but he's strangely insistent that I only dress you in thirdhand rags." "It's alright, Charlie. I'm used to it," Simon explained as he pulled on a pair of overlarge pants under the nightgown and then gently laid the garment on his bed before putting on his shirt. He waved goodbye to his caretaker as he left through his office space and then ran down the hall and up two flights of stairs to Mizu's floor. The maids were standing outside looking a bit worried when he was in front of Mizu's room. Oh yes, they didn't have the code. There was a tray of breakfast food with quite a few different varieties since the cook clearly didn't yet know Mizu's preferences for his early meal. "Oh good, Simon. You know the combination, right?" one of the girls asked. She was fairly new and sweet but not too bright. One of Caldwell's men had swept her up when she was abandoned by her cult-like religious family for being caught with a male who wasn't related to her outside her house. The other woman was kind but Simon didn't know her story. She'd been cut across the throat sometime when she was a girl and, consequently, couldn't say a word. "Yeah, sure thing," he said, punching in the appropriate code and signaling for the ladies to stay in the living area while he quietly opened the door to Mizu's room and walked over to the bed. "Mizu?" he tried, reaching out to brush a long strand of hair away from the boy's face. |

Mizu sighs, his hair falling around him, having obviously slept well last night as he yawns, eyes slowly opening as he smiles slightly. " Hmm, morning," mumbles Mizu, eyes half-lidded as he sits up slowly, pouting a bit as he takes Simon in for a moment. " You know you could have just kept wearing the nightgown..." Mizu giggles, climbing out of bed as he grins. " I slept really well, though I think he came by and kept the nightmares at bay," murmurs Mizu, running his fingers through his hair as he wanders toward the bathroom. " How'd you sleep? I would think well considering how tired you were when you left..." Mizu tilts his head as he wanders toward the closet, intent to find something to throw on over his nightgown. " Were there people waiting outside my door?" murmurs Mizu softly. " I thought I heard something but wasn't certain..." |

Simon moved away from the bed as Mizu got up and went a bit pink in the face when he said he could have kept wearing the gown. He didn't think it would be proper to go running around the house in something he used to sleep in, especially if he had to go to another part of the mansion where there were somewhat mean people to tease him for being in his 'jammys'. Not to mention the girl thing, though he was getting used to the idea of cross dressing. "Who is 'he'? He asked, stepping back and motioning for the ladies to bring in the cart. "Ohh. He's so adorable! Morning Mr. Mizu. I'm Marian. Nora here is usually the one to bring up breakfast but I insisted on helping so I could meet you," she kept her distance and moved easily alongside the other woman to bring the table nearly hidden in one corner of the room over near the large window. She set out a chair in front of it and started to place the items on the cart there. "Oh and Nora doesn't speak so I'm also here to be a bit of a translator. We're supposed to take down the list that was sent up last night if you're finished but if not then you can just write your favorite dishes down on it. We brought a whole lot of food this morning since we weren't sure what you liked." Simon stood against the wall after he'd made the bed and watched as the ladies set out the last of the the trays. "Well, either way you'll have some time to yourself today so just give the list to Simon here when you're done with it. Have a great morning." She grinned and pushed Nora, who seemed oddly reluctant to leave, out the door. Simon laughed when they were gone and looked over to Mizu. "They're a little strange but really nice. Nora's friends with the girl who usually cuts my hair. Maybe you'll see her around eventually. She tends to act as a buyer in addition to her other work so sometimes she's not at home all day." |

" A Death Spirit," murmurs Mizu softly, eyes half lidded as he smiles a bit. " His names Shinigami but everyone calls him Gami...I've never actually MET him as I'm always asleep, but he left me a note once so I wouldn't freak out when a whole backet of chocolate just appeared on my dresser one day..." Mizu blinks at Marian's greeting, blushing as he smiles shyly. " Um, oh it's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Marian," murmurs Mizu, bowing slightly as he waves toward Nora as he smiles. " I fell asleep before I could fill out the list, but I'll get Simone to give it too the appropriate people later..." Mizu looks over all the dishes, smiling as his stomach growls. " You did really bring alot didn't you? Hmm... I'm not especially picky so almost anything will do...I REALLY like bacon and eggs though...and some sort of juice is welcomed..." Mizu pouts as they leave, tilting his head as he stares at the door. " Aw...I was hoping they'd stay for a bit longer," murmurs Mizu, smiling a bit. " They seemed nice...and poor Nora looked like she didn't want to go just yet...now I feel like an awful hostess of some sort for some reason..." Mizu smiles shyly, sitting down as he pours himself some orange juice and puts some eggs and bacon on his plate. " This looks delicious...I wonder if I made a request for only female workers to deliver things if Mr. Caldwell would take that too heart...most of the men around him seem rather rude...other then Charles..." |

Simon wondered about the 'Gami' person Mizu mentioned but he figured that he wouldn't really get the explanation anyway. Mizu treated things that were entirely foreign to him so matter of factly that it would be difficult to question him outright about such matters. So Simon kept things to himself for now. He figured he'd have time to ask at a later time. "Oh. They both deliver breakfast in the morning and Nora gets into trouble if she doesn't deliver certain people's breakfasts on time. She wanted to make sure that you got food from the looks of it which is why she decided to wait for me." Simon walked past the table and glanced outside. The garden was just barely visible, though most of the flowers were slightly less perky since it was daylight. "Yeah. You'll find that most of the men who work here are asses. Some of the women are too, it's just Mr. Caldwell knows how service works so he saves the ladies like them for the daytime hours when more people will be around. But, generally, everyone will treat you well. They just sort of say whatever they want to me since they don't get into trouble for it." "Anyway, enough of that boring topic," Simon said, clearly in need of a quick change of subject. "We have the whole day to do whatever you'd like. Oh. Music." He hadn't asked Charles about it due to his strange journey into dreamland the night before, but Simon figured he had enough savvy with computers to figure out how it went. He pulled out the unit in the corner, logged in, and tried to recall all of the different passwords for the accounts to get onto the internet and then the music site. |

" Oh, well that's understandable then," murmurs Mizu, sighing as he stretches, nibbling on a piece of bacon as he smiles. " Well I'm glad they waiting...I wouldn't have been in a good mood without food." MIzu stretches, smiling as he watches Simon for a moment, taking the other in. " Well maybe I'll request that only curtious non-asshole workers are sent...because when people are asses to me I get really pissed," mutters Mizu, giggling as he drinks some of his orange juice, watching Simon as he fiddles with the computer. " After I finish you should eat...I'm going to take a quick shower and then find something to wear..." Mizu smiles, tilting his head as he watches Simon, thinking of how to dress the other up as he grins. " And I'm going to get you too wear that kimono today," murmurs Mizu, smirkings as he stretches. " I'll see if there are any in the closet that I like, we can dress up nice and go to the gardens..." Mizu smiles, tilting his head as he giggles slightly. " Plus I want to plant that thing..." Mizu giggles, pointing out to the balcony where what appears to be a HUGE glowing Moonflower sits. " I think Gami left it for me...I need to plant it somewhere...at least he didn't leave me a Venus Flytrap..." |

Simon hadn't expected to be offered food. He, intellectually, knew that Mizu was nice and more than willing to share but his instincts to stand by while other people ate had kicked in and all the strangeness from the night before had completely thrown his system off. "Take your time, it's not like we have anywhere important to be right away. Heh, and that's one of the first times I've ever been able to say that to anyone and actually include myself." Simon bit his lip to hide a smile when Mizu said that they were going to dress up before going to the garden. He was going to reply when the boy just suddenly drew his attention to the conspicuously large plant right outside the doors. "Wow. That's some present your friend left you. We'll have to plant it in the night garden. It seems to be wilting a bit in the sun," Simon exclaimed, walking over and exiting to look at it up close. He prodded a leaf with his fingers, gently sweeping the pad over its smooth texture and he smiled as the flower seemed to respond to him just a bit. |

" Well of course I'll take my time...even if people wanted me too be some place I'd take my time," states Mizu, smirking as he stretches, eyes half lidded as he finishes off his bacon and eggs after a bit and finished off his juice. Mizu stretches, standing to his feet as he smiles, hair falling around him, that black gown falling around him as he giggles. " Well I don't know if I can call him a friend as I've never seen him or talked to him," murmurs Mizu as he grins slightly. " Though I suppose he has his own reasons for leaving random gifts...I think that plants supposed to ward of nightmares or something..." Mizu tilts his head, watching SImon and the plant as he raises an eyebrow. " I'd advise against touching it too much...I don't know much about it..." Mizu sighs, running his fingers through his hair as he smiles. " I guess I'm going to head in too take a shower," murmurs Mizu softly, eyes half lidded. " You eat some breakfast Simon...and I'll figure out what we'll wear once I take a shower..." |

Simon couldn't help but want to mess with the gigantic flower just a bit. He had zero affinity for taking care of things like plants but that didn't mean that he couldn't like him. Well, that wasn't entirely true. According to one of the gardner's, they'd noticed that when Simon talked to the sunflowers they tended to perk up a little more and last longer than other varieties they'd seen. They chalked it up to the best materials for feeding and tending them though, not a random little boy who wandered the gardens if they were shorthanded or if he had any time. "Oh. Yeah," he said, abandoning the flower in favor of food. Simon poured himself a glass of water and made short work of two of the waffles that were untouched on the table. He always ate rather quickly as his meals were usually taken between tasks and he had less then thirty minutes to finish up. He wasn't legally under any contracts to work (not that he could be, being a child) but the downside was that being an indentured slave basically meant he didn't get any breaks. When he was finished, Simon gathered up the dishes and put them back on the cart and wheeled it outside in the same manner he had done the night before. He then moved back into the room and played around with the computer a little bit more. He didn't want to hover around Mizu while he was taking a shower and he was certain that the other boy would say something when he was ready to get dressed. |

Mizu sighs, purring as he turns the shower on, waiting for the water to heat up as he tilts his head, eyes half lidded as he hums softly, removing his gown, grabbing a bottle of lavendar shampoo as he steps into the shower, purring happily as the hot water hits his skin. Meanwhile as Mizu was washing up in the shower, strange music started to play through the surround sound from seemingly no where. The tune was soft and almost a bit dark, sounding like some strange sort of violin being played with a soft flute in the background. The pass was slow, almost like a dark lullaby, but once in a while it picked up pass. Little would anyone be aware that Gami had managed to mess with the sound system in Mizu's quarters, managing to somehow connect it too his own rooms in his home realm, so now whenever music was playing there it would most likely be playing in Mizu's room. Mizu smiles, non the wiser to the Death Spirits antics as he washes up, finishing washing his hair after a while as he hums softly, letting the shampoo wash out as he turns the shower off, stepping out and grabbing a towel as he wanders toward the closet, intent to find clothes. |

Simon thought his heart would stop when music suddenly sounded in the room without any command from him. He thought, for half a minute, that he might have done something without thinking but then he realized that it had been done without any permission from the computer. Oh, so it was just like the speakers were haunted. Oh well. At least it was nice music. He couldn't be considered a virtuoso but like anyone, he knew what he liked. Simon slid out of the seat when he heard the shower turn off. The young man moved into the dressing room and looked at Mizu as he headed toward the closet. "Uh...so it seems music works after all though I have no idea. I was trying to get it to work but either I'm much better with computers than I think or someone else interfered to make it work." He moved into the closet after the other boy and shifted a bit uncomfortably when he was faced with the sheer number of clothes in the closet. There were truly garments of all kinds. Costumes, dresses, traditional and ethnic clothes, and a combination of fine but normal boy's clothes in various sizes. They were all fine but nothing could be considered normal, even the things that weren't feminine in the least. "Are you not allowed to look normal if you live here?" he mused, pulling at a polka dot pair of shorts that he couldn't imagine anyone wearing. |

" Well, I suppose Gami did it again," mutters Mizu, looking through the closet as he keeps the towel wrapped around himself. " He somehow manages to connect his realm to my room...that's what I've been able to figure out." Mizu smiles, finding a dark purple kimono with golden flowers as he grins. " Hmm, I like this one..." Mizu tilts his head, eyes half lidded as he looks toward the shorts as he giggles. " Hmm, I suppose not, but I like eccentric clothes," murmurs Mizu, smiling as he stretches, finding an obi as he grins. " Your kimono should still be in my room...I think on the dresser..." Mizu smiles, eyes half lidded as he stretches. Mizu tilts his head, thinking for a moment as he finds some tabi socks and geta sandles as he grins, wandering toward his room as he grins. He grabs a hairbrush as he smiles, eyes half-lidded, giggling as he wanders into his room, noticing that the lights in the room are glowing a dark purple. " It seems Gami is having fun messing with my room," murmurs Mizu softly. |

Death spirit indeed. It was certainly like a ghost was haunting the place. He watched as Mizu picked out a kimono for himself and then remembered that the other boy had put the one he'd wanted Simon to wear in his room like he said. The young man wandered into the room and opened the first drawer to find the garment in question. He pulled it out, looking at the beautiful, light design, but he wasn't at all sure how to put it on. He folded the kimono over his arm and moved to stand uselessly near Mizu. The lights started going crazy in the next instant and, with the music, it still set Simon on edge. It wasn't that he got a bad feeling from the ministrations of this Gami person, it was more like he wasn't used to the unexpected or unusual despite growing up in a house full of thieves, sociopaths, and a child molester. Magic was an entirely different thing and the idea of something that seemed like a ghost playing with the lights made him a bit nervous. 'So uh...I hate to be useless but how do I wear this?" he asked, holding out the kimono, a little flustered as he took in all that Mizu had with him. So they'd match. That made him feel a little elated but didn't help his current problem of having no idea how to wear a kimono. |
