((I apparently have a sinus infection and it gives me a terrible headache and earache...but life goes on XD)) Rune wrapped his arms quite tightly around Urie's neck, causing the man to stumble a bit in place. He thrashed back and only when he made a choking noise did the boy seem to realize what he'd been doing. He blinked a few times and then did it all over again, which almost sent the poor man right off his feet again. "Who knew we'd run into other spirits here, right Urie?" Rune asked. "R...Rune please. I said I'd carry you up but I thought we'd talked about your habit of being a little too careless when your affection. I can't breathe." "Oh yeah. Right. Sorry about that Urie. It's just..." he regarded the pair with wide eyes. "I've never met spirits like them before." The man nodded when Mizu said they could take care of themselves. "I assumed so by the fact that you're still alright. It's just quite rude of us to intrude here and nearly smother you with flames." He shrugged to get Rune's attention and looked his passenger in the eye awkwardly from where they were positioned. "Apologize, Ruen. After all, it's your magic that's working to burn this mansion down." "Oh yeah." Clearly, Rune had to be reminded of these things. "Sorry you two." He looked up toward the ceiling and his eyes flashed before the flames started to dwindle. Simon's eyes moved toward where he assumed Celestine and Kire were, and his mind unknowingly sent out a thread of his own magic there. ***** "I'd much prefer the quick way, but I'm incapable of doing it," Celestine said, as though it was the most obvious thing in the word. He glanced around and noticed that while the fire was still present, it wasn't progressing in the same insane way it had been before, only the flames that served to burn up Caldwell's body were still raging. |

( Sinus Infections suck!) " Stop chocking your friend...Rune was it?" murmurs Mizu softly, sighing as he makes a face. " For that matter, you've got legs so give the guy a break and stand on 'em." Mizu tilts his head, looking toward the ceiling, noticing red eyes watching him from the shadows as he raises an eyebrow. " Gami, you shouldn't be in here, your link can't be very good..." " It's not too terrible...and your one guest is sorta interesting," murmurs Gami softly, smiling from the shadows as he sighs softly as Mizu just giggles, tilting his head as he cuddles Simon close, watching Rune and Urie in amusement. " No need to apologize, I really hold no attachment too this place. As long as all the humans are out I'm good," murmurs Mizu, tilting his head a bit as he sighs softly, breathing out slowly as he makes a face. " What's taking those two?" *** " Well I can," murmurs Kire, smiling as he pulls Celestine close, tilting his head a bit as his eyes glow, a strange expression on his face as that silver energy gathers close around them as Kire breathes out slowly. " Take us too where our bindings wait, through walls and doors shall we make this journey with due haste..." With that whispered spell the energy glows brightly, surrounding them and teleporting them too land next to Simon and Mizu. " Well that wasn't too difficult," murmurs Kire, looking toward Urie and Rune as he raises a silver eyebrow as he just smirks at Rune. " I would assume that you little one must be our flame starter..." |

"I'm not choking him," Rune started vehemently, pulling his arms around Urie closer and doing the exact opposite of what he was defending. "Oh. Sorry, Urie." "It's alright," the man said, looking a bit worn already. "But he's not simply being lazy. It's just he's rather young, as you can see, and if his feet are in contact with the ground then his powers are rather unstable. Since I'm overseeing his education...and everything else...it falls to me to make sure our goal is accomplished with a minimal of fireworks..." He looked above them, eyes glazing over the red orbs staring down at them as though he didn't want to think about a death spirit watching. "But as you can see, even with his powers more stable, Rune manages to make it flashy." "Yeah, what he said," Rune concluded, clearly now fully justified for his free piggyback ride. Simon smiled as he could think of no other recourse to deal with the rather comical pair that were now in their midst. "I'm glad you're not bad people, anyway..." ***** Celestine closed his eyes as he was certain if he looked he might become somewhat motion sick. When they touched down he realized he'd been gripping Kire's arms rather tightly and chided himself mentally for it before stepping back and, unintentionally, meeting Rune's eyes. "He's clearly a fire spirit...and a rather powerful one for his size," he added, agreeing with Kire. "Aah. There's more of you. So you're the ones that were right by the source. Looking at you kind of hurts," he said, the last part directly to Celestine. Though he mentioned pain, the goofy smile he still had plastered on his face made it apparent that it was a brutally honest observation with no ill will intended. Celestine averted his eyes. "Well I just used my power so my aura's still rather strong." |

Mizu sighs, eyes half lidded as he smiles, grinning a bit as he smiles. " Well alright then, I'm Mizu then, it's a pleasure to meet you both," murmurs Mizu, bowing slightly as he stretches, running a hand back through his hair, pouting a bit. " Well that makes sense, fireworks aren't really what we want at the moment..." Mizu looks toward Gami who is smiling in the shadows as he tilts his head a bit. " That's Shinigami, Gami for short, he's a close friend of mine," murmurs Mizu as he smiles at Urie. " He means no ill will toward any of us, he's just observing...I guess we'll being having that party another time Gami, sorry about that..." Gami nods, disappearing from sight as Mizu sighs. " I suppose he'll re-link his realm eventually..." Mizu looks toward Kire and Celestine as they appear, smiling as Kire tilts his head at Rune's words, a smirk playing as his lips as he leans in close to Celestine. " Well perhaps we should get you too some place where there isn't any real danger of people being hurt my your aura then," murmurs Kire softly. " We can once we make sure the kids are out of here if you want..." Kire shrugs, looking toward Urie as he raises an eyebrow. " If you'd like to take a break from carrying your charge, I can carry him for you..." Kire just smiles at Rune as his eyes glow. " Though we should all get out of here...I don't rightly trust this place not to collapse in on us..." " Well you can teleport us out of here if you want Kire, or I made a ladder so those that aren't confident in their ability to jump two flights and land safely could take it," murmurs Mizu, moving nearer to banister as he holds Simon close. " I'd rather see this place burn to the ground, with all the bad memories and bad energy it holds..." |

Rune smiled at Kire the moment he saw him, especially since the moment he looked away from Celestine and to him, he started to feel a bit better. It wasn't all that bad to look at Celestine, just that Rune immediately could tell there was some pain in his aura that seeped into whoever made contact with him. "Oooh. You mean it? I'd like to get to see what your energy's like. Urie's a good teacher 'n all, but he's kinda...funny." Urie, for his part, managed to keep something of a straight face considering his charge had just made fun of him. He was used to it. Rune was honest to a fault (where it really was a horrible fault actually) and while he was capable of being somewhat vindictive to people who were naturally bullies, when it came down to people he adored, his particular brand of adoration took in all their bad parts too...which meant some things he said could be taken the wrong way. It was just Rune, and Rune had been calling him strange since he could first speak. "Er...nice to meet all of you. Rune," Urie said, nudging his current rider with his elbow. "Sorry. Nice to meet you. Even you in the ceiling," he waved his hand and unexpectedly sent a small burst of flame upwards. "Double sorry for that." Simon, for his part, was getting quite anxious as he finally caught sight of the human servants in the mansion. They'd apparently all evacuated long before the fire started because many of them were running toward the quickly blazing house, yelling to see if anyone was inside while others pulled out cell phones to call 911. He saw Charles at the fore and the boy let out a sigh of relief. "Don't worry about that, young man," Urie started as he glanced out the flame-framed window toward the humans. "Our...er...leader made sure to weave a spell to get the humans out before the critical time. She just didn't expect spirits to be here." Celestine closed his eyes in the meantime so as not to make accidental eye contact with anyone, but he passed it off rather well as merely thinking. Since they were all within the influence of the fire-user and Mizu with his water magic, none of the fumes or smoke reached them. "We really should go. I would like to speak with you and your young fire spirit there, but escape comes first unless we all want to be in the uncomfortable position of having to dig ourselves out of rubble." And with that he headed for the opening on the side of the fast-burning house and seemed prepared to jump rather than taking the ladder down. Celestine always did like the direct way of doing things. |

Kire blinks, tilting his head a bit as he raises an eyebrow as he smiles at Rune and then toward Urie as he sighs softly. " I do not envy your position," murmurs Kire, looking toward Mizu who smiles a bit, cuddling Simon close as he breathes out slowly. " As for if I meant it Rune, yes I did. My energies probably going to feel rather funny too you as it's not like spirit energy...me being a Tetuin demon and all our energies sorta...different..." Gami blinks as he see's the flame, waving a hand before him as those flames die and wither as he sighs softly. " Well it's nice to meet you too, no reason to apologize. Flames don't really have a chance with me...my aura snuffs em out pretty quickly," murmurs Gami, sighing as he stretches, looking around as he smiles. " I best be disconnecting." And with that Gami had disappeared from the house, most likely he'd reappear once Mizu found another place to stay for a while with enough dark corners for Gami to sustain himself. " Yes, we should be heading out," murmurs Mizu softly, that symbol on his forehead glowing a soft silver as he moves toward the opening as well as he smiles. " Don't need anyone scorched or this place falling down on us..." Mizu smiles, holding Simon's hand as he tilts his head a bit, laughing as Kire moves forward, the demons wings flowing out as he tilts his head a bit. " Well I'm jumping..." With that Mizu jumps out of the hole, landing in a crouched position as he smiles as he waits for the others to follow after. |

Rune tried to move down from Urie's back, but the man knew better than to let the fire spirit out of his sight, or really, from touching the floor. He didn't want to be burned to a crisp just because Rune was now really curious to know what it was like to be held by someone who wasn't a recognizable spirit. While some spirits used sight, smell, taste, vibration, sense, or other ways of feeling out magic other than their own, Rune was primarily a tactile, he learned by direct contact with other spirits. It could be rather dangerous depending on the spirit, but Rune was Rune enough to get out of major trouble. Usually. "You can ask him for a ride after we're out of here," he said, hoping that Rune would listen. Surprisingly, he did. Probably because he was distracted by the presence in the ceiling suddenly disappearing, though he hadn't really been able to see the other person in the room that well in the first place. Rune glanced back at the flames that now licked at Urie's heels, without burning, and then urged the man forward. "You're right. This fire's now beyond my control." Simon made a strangled noise when Mizu just jumped out of the building, but since he landed without clear discomfort, he felt slightly better, though wished he hadn't seen it since his heart was now hammering quite distractingly in his chest. He was feeling rather human at the moment, so the light spirit elected to slowly take the ladder Mizu had offered down. Before his feet were properly there, Charles had pulled him from it and then turned him around to visually check to make sure he was undamaged. The man then moved over to Mizu and did a visual check with him as well. "Are you both alright? No injuries? What happened in there anyway?" "I'm fine. Just a little shaken. As for what's going on, I don't know...I'm hoping Celestine and the new people can tell us," Simon said. Urie jumped down with Rune still on his back a moment later, the man was oddly graceful in his long, sweeping red coat (with visible frills underneath because if you were going to dress outlandishly, you may as well dandy to the hilt) for someone who seemed so rigid in the firey building. Only Celestine lingered, glancing up toward where he knew Caldwell's remains were smoldering along with the rest of the house. As usual, his face was rather impassive, though the shades in his dual colored eyes seemed to be fighting each other for dominance as he contemplated, uncaring to the ruin around him. |

Mizu smiles, blinking as he looks toward Charles, sighing as he waves his hand slightly. " No bloody clue what happened in there, but we're fine and all so no worries there," murmurs Mizu, stretching as he pouts slightly. " Though...all those pretty clothes are burning...I hope Gami grabbed the plants..." Mizu sighs, tilting his head a bit as he smiles toward Simon. " I suppose I gave you a right scare jumping out of the building like that..." Kire sighs, tilting his head a bit as he looks at Celestine, waiting beside the other as he smiles a bit, walking over as he reaches out, grabbing the others hands as he sighs softly. " Let's get out of here...we'd both survive a collapse...but I doubt Simon and Mizu would much appreciate that sort of scare," murmurs Kire, smiling as he looks at Celestine, a strange smile playing at his lips as he leans in close to the other. " Plus I really wanna know what the hells going on..." Mizu tilts his head, looking toward Urie and Rune as he breathes out slowly a strange smile playing at his lips. " You've got some power there Rune," murmurs Mizu, looking at the mansion as he tilts his head slightly, moving to stand close to Simon as he sighs softly. " What's taking Celestine and Kire so damn long? Usually Kire'd be long gone from anything burning...doesn't much like burning things...brings back unplesant memories for him." Mizu turns to look at Charles, eyes half lidded as a smirk plays at the childs lips. " I haven't seen Mr. Caldwell anywhere..." |

Simon kept his hand on Charles' sleeve, as he was still a little shaken but it seemed this small bit of comfort coupled with the nearness of Mizu and the knowledge that he was alright helped to abate the frantic beating of his heart. The boy could feel his pulse in his ears and the subtle vibrations of his erratic magic. He hadn't been aware of using it earlier, but he could still feel the after effects. Simon was entirely unschooled in the nature of his magic and in the implementation of it, so his body was responding accordingly. The boy drew closer to Mizu, his eyes on the burning ruin of the house, and he waited for the last two members of their strange little party to show themselves. Urie let Rune down the moment they were back on solid ground, as the fire was now well out of his ability to influence at such a young age. The boy cast his crimson eyes in Mizu's direction when he heard his comment and all he could offer was his usual smile. "Yeah, my sister says so too...but she also says that's pretty much all there is to appreciate about me," he added. Even outside the inferno, his body radiated heat, like he was his own mini-sun always on the verge of going supernova. Rune's abundant, endlessly cycling energy was certainly one of his best points. He was an exceptional fire spirit and unlike some of the other spirits around him, had come to terms with this fact and had received the proper education from the first moment he'd created a spark. In contrast to Simon, who was shy and naive, Rune was the very picture of what a spirit child should be. In this he was, perhaps, ordinary, but Rune's disposition never let such things bother him. "You shouldn't speak like your sister has no appreciation for you outside of your powers, Rune," Urie chided, almost unconsciously. He stood at Rune's side quite naturally, though he himself was an odd bundle of nerves. He didn't have the energy Rune did, nor did he have the unsettling calm, observant demeanor that Celestine possessed. Even when his eyes appeared to remain in one place, his gaze always seemed to be moving, through, around, over, and under all he beheld. Most spirits' auras were tangible things, even the frightening ones, but in contrast he held the air of a spirit with no mistakable aura anywhere around him, making him seem just a baffling human when that wasn't the case. From the moment he was aware of it, this had been the source of Urie's unsettled demeanor, why he was always searching and evaluating even the simplest things. Celestine started when he felt Kire's hand, oddly, comfortably warm despite the heat that pressed around them. He'd been in a semi-catatonic state for a very short time as his mind had replayed, nevermind their environment, the scene with Caldwell. His body felt sated since he accomplished the dual distinction of feeding and completing a mission, but he was still unsettled. You'd never know it to look at him though. He merely seemed caught in the middle of a thought by all appearances. He still needed to get used to the feel of Kire's flesh pressed against his naked hand, because while he rationally knew that he couldn't harm him, it was now all it took for him not to recoil and draw his body back in a fit of anxiety about killing someone. He turned his eyes to the other man and, mentally, he allowed himself to fully agree that putting two children through the horror of seeing a mansion collapse on them in a fiery blaze was probably unkind. He turned toward their easiest means of escape and, almost inaudibly, his remaining earring chimed. "Yes. We should definitely get out of here. That fire spirit and his keeper can give us a few answers, but I almost wish they hadn't come to do a task of their own. I might have been able to find out about the presence in that room with Caldwell." It seemed silly to keep speculation from Kire, so Celestine wasted no time in saying so, even as he descended to the ground. He couldn't fly in the sense of using wings and supernatural physics, but Celestine still had his magical trinkets, though he wished as he usually did, that he could use one of the elements he'd consumed because there were a surprising number of wind spirits up to no good, or there were a hundred years ago, and the energy was almost too much to take sometimes. It was the light-affiliated elements that were always the most fluttery, pulsating, and insistent on being used. Oddly enough, the dark elements never really seemed so eager to participate with the world, but a discerning spirit would actually use them first because otherwise they seeped into the soul and from there it was...interesting to say the least. So Celestine conjured up a fake wind to slow down his momentum and he barely felt the impact as his feet touched the ground. ((Sorry about the length. I guess I'm in a wordy, wordy mood right now)) |

Mizu smiles, standing there as he watches the world around him, eyes half lidded as he breathes out slowly, a smirk playing at his lips as a subtle change happens as those pink streaks in his hair slowly change to red, speaking of him fully coming into his own abilities as his tongue trails out, licking along his lips as he smiles at Simon. " Sorry for giving you such a scare," murmurs Mizu, eyes half lidded as he looks at the burning mansion before them. " Those two better damn well hurry up..." Mizu looks toward Rune, smiling at the other as he tilts his head a bit. " Well once you fully come into that power of yours, I'm certain you'll be quite amazing," murmurs Mizu, grinning as he looks toward Urie, tilting his head a bit in thought for a silent moment. " If not for knowing better I'd think you were human...but I can feel the underlying strains of energy in you...and they are certainly not human..." Kire smiles at Celestine, eyes half lidded as he sighs softly, a strange smile playing at his pale lips. " You're not going to hurt me," murmurs Kire softly, a strange light in his eyes as he smiles. Kire blinks at Celestine's words, sighing softly as he tilts his head a bit in thought. " Well that very well may be true, but at least you're not hungry anymore," murmurs Kire softly, blinking as he feels a subtle change in the energy flows around them as he tilts his head slightly. " Well it seems Mizu's finally fully come into the shadow spirit abilities..." Kire sighs softly, moving to there escape route, those wings folding up tight against his back. Kire grins, diving out of the building, doing a flip as his wings snap out a couple feet from the ground, landing carefully as he smiles. " Well it took you two damn well long enough," murmurs Mizu softly, hands on his hips as Kire just smiles a bit as he see's that Mizu's shadow's extending more around him and that Gami's red eyes are watching them. " It seems my bloods finally fully leveled out..." " For the moment...give it a couple years," murmurs Kire, a smirk playing at his pale lips at Mizu blinks. " I feel sorry for Simon once you reach full maturity and that blood fully sings too you..." Mizu just blinks, not really aware of what Kire's speaking of as the demon just smirks. " Just give it a few years..." |

Damn. Celestine remembered the other reason why he really hadn't wanted to leave the house, albeit it was most an unconscious one. The humans. They were everywhere, a flesh and blood reminder of just how many people Caldwell had in his employ, his small little kingdom that Celestine had just helped disrupt. He didn't feel many eyes on him, considering the fire, but there was a small gasp from one of the kitchen staff, a young man with an apron covered in a light dusting of confectioner's sugar, whose eyes had been drawn to Celestine for probably no real reason at all. He narrowed his eyes and glanced upwards, toward the sky where it was far safer and Celestine moved to stand closely behind Kire, attempting to use the other man as a sort of shield to prevent the humans gathered in front of the blazing run from making visual contact with him. "Sorry for suddenly intruding like this, but I do want answers, and sooner rather then later but I also don't wish to be the cause of some poor soul coughing up blood just because he thought what we were doing was more interesting than watching a mansion burn down." Rune hitched his hands together behind his back and his eyes concentrated solely on the fire. Now that the two remaining beings were out if it, the place was utterly devoid of life. Despite being on the ground, he used his magic again. Urie didn't move to stop him though, since at this point it hardly mattered if the last blast of flames he started from the center of the wreckage were too strong or not. The unintentional audience gasped as the flames licked even higher, though they stubbornly refused to consume the grass and flowerbeds directly in front of the foundation of the place. Most remarked that it was unnatural, and a few backed away as though they expected the flames to start licking the grass and crawling toward them for more. "You were speaking to me?" Urie asked, and as he glanced Mizu's way, the long waves of violet hair in front of his right eye made to cover half his face. He waved it back in irritation, but the hair only stubbornly struck him in the face again. "Well spotted. You wouldn't believe how often people ask why I live with spirits and in a spirit temple when I'm juts an ordinary human. And when I say I'm not they don't believe me." "Yeah. My sister calls Urie a failure of a spirit," Rune interrupted jovially. "But he's still a spirit." "Thank you for that glowing recommendation, Rune," Urie said dryly. "I hate to interrupt what would probably be a thrilling life's history, but let's not stray too far form the topic at hand," Celestine tried from his position by Kire. Eyes turned to him and he felt a sense of definite relief when no pain passed over Simon's face as their eyes met briefly. Without his cursed blood spell, family did always have a slightly higher tolerance to Celestine and now it seemed Simon would benefit. "We were just following orders," Urie shortly explained. "Yeah. It was my sister who actually set that guy on fire. She was the one who made the contract," Rune explained. "I figured as much," Celestine muttered and as Simon looked, confused, between them, a smile threatened to dawn on his face. "Mr. Caldwell is dead. He finally contained the right amount of chaos, motive, and despair converged with him when he heard...well no matter what he heard. It was enough for me to devour it and though he was dying, I didn't kill him. The fire did." "My sister. But she was supposed to do that," Rune corrected. |

Kire smiles slightly, looking toward Celestine as he tilts his head a bit, a strange expression upon his face. " Yes, some explainations would be very appreciated," murmurs Kire as he makes a face as he looks around them. " Don't worry, if any humans come to pester us I'lls end them on their merry way Celes..." Kire smiles, eyes almost seeming to glow as he breathes out slowly. Mizu smiles at Urie, staying close to Simon as he just giggles softly, his slightly pointed ears twitching as he watches the other for a silent moment. " Spirits, even one's without any real abilities have a feeling quite different from a human," murmurs Mizu softly, a strange expression on his face as he hugs Simon slightly. " It's like a flittery, floating feeling, the energy moves like the tides. Up and down and in and out mattering on what someone's doing...like breathing I suppose. Though Kire's...always feels strange..." Kire blinks hearing that as he blushes slightly, a strange smile playing at his lips. " I don't...quite know how I feel myself..." " You eb and flow like the tide...though when it's flowing it's rather strong," murmurs Kire softly. " You're always on the high end of flickering, like a fast dance, moving quickly through you and out of you other then in sleep...but that's how alot of children are so it's too be expected..." Kire looks toward Celestine, a strange smile on his pale face as he sighs softly, listening to Urie and Rune as he tilts his head a bit. " If he's your teacher that speaks for something kid...that being he's not a failure..." Mizu sighs, leaning against Simon, a smile playing at his lips at Celestine's words as he breahtes out slowly, looking toward Gami whose eyes are glowing, watching all the humans around them in strange fascination. " Kire feels like a tidal wave...energy just abounding and then crashing down," murmurs Mizu as Kire smiles slightly as Mizu looks around them. " So then...what're we going to do then...I mean...we can't really stay here can we?" Kire tilts his head, blinking as he looks at Celestine, a strange expression on his face, turning his attention to Simon for a silent moment. " Simon you have alot of potential if you can learn to control your surfacing abilitites," murmurs Kire softly as he looks toward Mizu who blinks. " As do you, you've only just scratched the surface of your abilities...as it is now, you're both free from the ties that have bound you here. I personally don't know anywhere for a light spirit to get training...however I do know someone that could help Mizu train..." |

((Oh noes. they're getting longer D:)) "Well, yes, I guess you could say I'm not a total failure, but Hierarch Raye does have a point in my being one as a complete spirit," Urie contested. He didn't really want to explain the terrible circumstances that were his life, and besides, the fact that Celestine, with his painful aura, was looking at Urie signaled to the man (though he didn't know him) that he wanted a continuance on the explanation he had started. "Hierarch Raye made a contract with a human woman who was full of such sorrow and despair that she didn't feel she could simply overlook her plight. Her grandson...he'd always been odd but his father only encouraged his various eccentricities and no matter how hard she tried to instill in him a conscience and values, he never seemed to take to them. It was to the point where her husband divorced her and kept her from her beloved, lamentable son. So she went to Raye, thinking she was affiliated with her human religion, and begged her to help." Rune nodded and pulled on Urie's sleeve, hoping to get the reigns of the conversation for a moment. "Sis acts really mean sometimes but she's not really like that. Just busy and tired. This was waaay before I could remember but she told me over and over that we had to keep to our 'oblongations'" "That's 'obligations'," Urie corrected. "And she did. The woman feared for the state of her son's soul, and with good reason with the way he'd been fouling it up. So the Hierarch did the only thing she could do. She cast a spell on Caldwell using his mother's blood bond as being the one to birth him as the connection. It was a spell that, should his life ever be in critical danger and he is beyond saving, then her fires would burn him up, body and soul, and purify him of all personality, memories, deeds, anything really. So no lingering part of him would remain." Celestine crossed his arms from where he stood and concentrated on the grass, not quite wanting to look their way. "And she couldn't have done that without an infusion of holy magic. Fire alone cannot purify a soul in the manner you wish." "That's quite correct. As Hierarch she has many friends in...er...other realms. But in the end it was her spell that reacted awhile ago, and Rune and I were transported her to destroy this place and hopefully many of the bad memories she and her son made and had in this place." And that was the reason that the two affiliated with fire were there, though it didn't answer all of Celestine's questions, as he'd expected. It did explain the fire, and the strange state of Caldwell. Celestine sighed at the thought of training. It was an inkling of a want from time long past. Back when his father had a small fragment of hope that what had happened to his foster mother was an accident, that the child that was supposed to be the normal one in contrast to his brother with his unusual holy magic but terrible prison of a body. So they'd tried to train him only to find out that it was not only dangerous, but there was no one who knew how. His magic, abilities, and aura seemed undefined except for how poisonous they were to anyone who came into contact with Celestine for too long. So he'd had to forgo the idea of training and instead learned by instinct how best to use his powers. It was even harder to explore them now with the limitations that he had to try and work within. Simon blinked, surprised to be so suddenly addressed, at Kire. He was still close to Mizu even though he'd gotten over the anxiety he'd felt from the fire and fearing for their lives. He nodded, acknowledging the fact that he knew he'd have to do something about getting trained. He wasn't sure how to draw out his power. Celestine's eyes were still upon him and Simon met them, brightening since the other man seemed less reluctant to do so. "His father, my twin, has extraordinary holy and light magic. It's actually a blessing that his mother was a human, or else he might have suffered the same or a worse physical condition than my brother. Their energies are almost identical though." "What?" Charles interjected. The conversatino had been quite over his head and, being a sensible man, he'd kept his mouth shut through the duration, as he feared he didn't necessarily want to fully understand the connotations of all these magical beings, one of which was standing right by his side, the one he'd raised. "You're a relation of Simon's?" Celestine kept his eyes on Simon but nodded. "Though I didn't know of him myself until a few years ago. I suppose you're wondering why I haven't tried to help him before now, but the explanation isn't necessary since you can just consider it a remiss on my part." And, in a strange humor, he smiled. "Didn't the family resemblance tip you off?" Rune looked between them, as if Celestine's joke was a challenge he had to take with the utmost seriousness. "Hmmm. I can't exactly say I do, but I guess that's because you two have different hair colors and...you're so far apart. But you do have curly hair..." "Which would mean a good part of the world is a relation, by that logic," Urie added, patting Rune's head. |

( I don't mind!) Mizu sighs, tilting his head a bit as he moves to sit down, listening to the explanations as he smiles a bit, eyes half lidded as he stretches. " Can't tell what gene's will do when their combined and all," murmurs Mizu, grinning as he tilts his head a bit, giggling. " I mean, when you go to make a kid never really know how they'll come out in the end...could be like the parents. Could express latent genes and abilities. Could be nothing like either parent..." Kire blinks, a strange expression on his face, knowing that the last bit is speaking about himself. Kire sighs as he smiles a bit, looking at Celestine as he tilts his head a bit in thought. " It seems the Caldwell family had quite a...trying past," murmurs Kire, rubbing his forehead a bit as he grins a bit to himself. " As for destroying bad memories...I'm sure Mizu and Simon both appreciate that..." Mizu nods, stretching a bit, tilting his head in thought as he looks toward Kire. " So you said you know of a place I could train and hone my abilities?" murmurs Mizu softly, looking at Kire who blinks as he nods slightly. " Where?" Kire just blinks, looking at the child as he smiles a bit. " Kire..." " Southern Japan, an uninhabited isle off the coast," murmurs Kire softly as Mizu blinks, looking at Kire as the demon smiles slightly. " Your...father's birth place...and where your uncle Treasure still lives too this day. It wouldn't do much for the Shadow Spirit in you, but if a time comes when you would feel the need to work on those abilities...I know a few beings that could assist in that undertaking..." Mizu just nods as he looks toward Charles, smiling a bit as he turns to look toward Celestine, a strange expression on the childs face. " Celestine, murmurs Mizu softly, a strange far off look on his face. " Is there any chance...that Simon could go too your home realm...and learn to use his abilities there? Because I know of no such place in this realm where a light spirit could get proper training..." |

Urie kept his hand on Rune's head to keep the boy from flailing overmuch or fully getting away from him. He had a tendency to do that, especially when he got bored. And since he was young, like any sensible child, the talk of the adults and the kids who acted almost like adults had him completely zoned out in minutes. He was paying some attention, but even when his eyes briefly focused on the conversants, they seemed to just more right back to the crumbling house or the chattering servants as they all huddled together, unsure of what to do without their employer around. Charles could have directed them, but he was busy standing by Simon and Mizu, with an impassive expression on his handsome features. "Shh. What would Hierarch Raye say if she saw you acting like this in front of so many others of our kind?" Urie said quietly. Rune seemed to latch onto these words a bit more than the others and he looked at Urie with reproachful, wide eyes for a moment and then he was laughing again before he untangled himself from the influence of his teacher and moved to stand beside Simon and Mizu. It was more inclusive that way. He beckoned for Urie to join them, but the man stayed hopelessly rooted in place, looking strangely lost even though he was the one who was supposed to be the guardian in this situation. Simon's gaze became more attentive on Kire when he said that he could take Mizu to an island in Japan to help train him as he was still a fledgling spirit. Japan. That was awfully far. But he knew that Mizu probably needed some time to recover, to hone his powers before he grew and couldn't control them properly. Just like himself. He'd have to try and find someone who could help. Celestine met Mizu's eyes. He didn't shy away from it the same way he did with humans or even the fire child. Mizu was more aware of how his powers worked, so it was far safer to look at him than the humans who had no shields at all or the Rune child who was a burst of energy with absolutely no sense of self-preservation yet. "I...could ask my father to do it. I personally am acquainted with very few beings in my home. They tend to keep to themselves above a certain level. But it was my father who taught my brother how to use his powers, when he was able to. I'm sure Simon would prove a more apt pupil considering he always seems to be physically and consciously with us." Simon felt a bit of panic at the thought of going away, but there was also a small glimmer of curiosity and hope. He didn't want to leave Charles, but now that he'd met Celestine, something about him made Simon curious about seeing who else's blood also flowed in his veins. "A...and is my father there?" Simon asked softly, holding Charles' hand reassuringly. Celestine looked to the ground again. "He disappeared some time back. I'm sure it's just another one of his episodes, but who knows how long it will last. He tends to attempt to get into contact with me in the meantime but, probably due to his usual state, his thoughts have always been nearly impossible for anyone to discern. I hate to say it, but I'm not entirely certain he knows you even exist." |
