The presence of Mizu dissipated some of the tension that always seemed to be around whenever the master of the house caught sight of Simon. The boy tried to stand his ground, but was glad all the same when Mizu interjected.

Reginald listened to Mizu's requests and finally something almost like a smile spread over his lips and he reached out to stroke Mizu's hair. He looked down at the boy, the gleam in his eyes revealing just how enchanted he was with the boy, and he finally sighed.

"I suppose if it's that important to you. I'll leave it to whoever you deem worthy. Unfortunately I likely won't be able to attend but yuo're free to invite anyone you deem worthy in the house. As a matter of fact," his eyes moved to the man standing by one of the windows. "Celestine..."

Celestine leaned against the wall, watching them carefully. He seemed to pay just as much attention to Simon as to Mizu, which the boy found decidedly odd. He again felt the weight of Celestine's gaze, like the man could read straight through him and see to his soul, but the reasons for this eluded him. Surely, if there was something of note about him then the other man would have paid more attention to him before now. There was no explaining it in his mind.

When Reginald addressed him, he looked away from the boys and gave the other man a slight nod.
"You will be attending the party. I trust my reasons are obvious?"

He smiled then, and Simon felt something odd in his chest. It was a different vibration, something harmonious yet horribly unsettling. It was like glimpsing the awe-inspiring and destructive power of a star, raw and terrifying yet almost entrancing.

"Of course. Your motives are quite transparent."

Though this was a bit of a biting remark, the other man didn't appear to take any notice. He released Mizu and gave the boy a kiss on the forehead before he moved to leave the room.

"I see no point in training a little urchin like her to dance. What would she ever use it for? But if it suits you then I was done in here anyway."

He left soon after, and the room was now only occupied by Simon, Mizu, and Celestine who was still standing and looking at them with his strangely intense gaze.

"I have to say, that was the first time he'd ever surprised me. I was too busy looking at a rift to notice that I was out in the open. He gave me work..." a petulant frown spread over his features at the thought.

Mizu smiles happily, the spirits eyes half lidded as he giggles, nodding as he leans a bit into Reginalds touch. " Thank you!" exclaims Mizu as he spins around, giggling happily as he smiles.
" This'll be so much fun!" Mizu looks toward Celestine as he just giggles, eyes half lidded as he smiles. " Hmm, hopefully there aren't any allergies..."

" Well it pleases me to teach others what I like to do, so I'll teach her even if she'll never make use of it," states Mizu as he giggles, twirling around as he hums softly, watching Celestine as he grins.
" Maybe if you don't know how to I could teach you too."

Mizu giggles, moving closer to Celestine as he tilts his head, a smile playing at his lips. " So then...are there any butterflies loose?" murmurs Mizu as he smiles. " Because if there are I should probably catch them so the rift will go away...though I don't have the foggiest why it'd be rifting down here..."

Celestine's smile disappeared with the thought of work, but he managed to regain some of his composure when Mizu offered to teach him how to dance as well.

"It's quite alright. It'd look ridiculous and I have no real need to learn," he said, finally getting off the wall. He turned and ran his fingers along the catch that held one of the windows shut.

"It wasn't anything your friend did. This has been here for awhile. There's not much I could do about it but it was so fascinating that the man sneaked up on me without my realizing it until he had already spotted me." He let his hand fall to his side and Celestine turned back toward the other two.

"Despite not having any outward spiritual markers, Mr. Caldwell is quite the anomaly...for a human. I'm sure you've noticed, especially Simon there, the experience is harder on light elements."

Simon's eyes widened. So Celestine did know who and what he was. He stepped a little closer to the other man but stopped when Celestine turned his strange eyes upon him again. For some reason his gaze rooted him to the spot.

"Wh...what do you do for Mr. Caldwell?" Simon asked.

"Me? I'm something of an assistant. He hired me on recommendation as a bodyguard but that was an outrageous lie so whenever he sees me he'll tell me to do things."

A strange answer from an even stranger man.

" Your lose then," murmurs Mizu, tilting his head as he smiles slightly the shadowed water spirits eyes half lidded as he watches Celestine for a silent moment. " I could try to fix it if you really want...I seem to have the odd affinity fo fixing rifts..."

MIzu blinks at Celestines words as he makes a face, eyes falling shut. " Light spirit or not that mans aura is scarey," mutters Mizu as he sighs to himself. " I may be of the darker elements...but it even brings me close to fainting at times especially when I'm not expecting it..." Mizu smiles. watching Simon as he giggles, twirling around once as he giggles. " Well at least now we know what you are..."

Mizu tilts his head, listening to Celestine as a smile plays at his pale face. " So then...what are you really then?" murmurs Mizu, waving a hand through the air, gathering water into the palm of his hand as he takes a drink.

Celestine shook his head as he glanced to the rift again. "It's not big enough for anything to get out, I just keep wondering how it even got to be in such an odd location. To be honest it has me suspicious of Caldwell. Like he's hiding something but getting to the depths of a man like that is not something I can do right away."

Simon latched onto his last statement and he took a step toward Celestine only to be rendered useless again as the other man looked to him. It wasn't scary, but there was just something about his gaze that kept stopping him. Perhaps it was something that Celestine knew that Simon didn't. His eyes were so closed off despite being so unusual in appearance that it was nearly impossible to tell what he was thinking.

"You'd do well to be careful around him, Mizu," Celestine started. "I'm sure you've noticed how attached he is. If one of my many suspicions happens to be correct then I'm sure there's nothing he'd like better than to have you lose control."

When asked about his own element, Celestine had the audacity to act surprised. He did give Mizu a somewhat lenient smile. "You don't think it's painfully obvious? Not that I could blame you for not being able to figure it out. You sensed an aura in the garden, I saw your look, but you couldn't tell what it was, could you? I'm sure for a spirit of your caliber it's unusual for you to not figure it out right away."

Simon spoke up again. "You just acted like you'd expect him to know right away and then you turn right around and say that it's not surprising in the same breath..."

"One of my many oddities. It always seems to obvious to me, but as far as I know I'm the only one of my kind. So I'll give you this for now, Mizu and Simon too. What happens when you combine two things that should, essentially, never be together?"

Mizu tilts his head, listening to Celestine as a smile plays at his lips as he sighs softly. " It'll take a lot for my control to be broken," murmurs Mizu, eyes half lidded as his eyes fall half lidded, a strange expression upon his pale face. " Well sorry for not being a genius...I'm only 13 after all..." Mizu falls silent, thinking to himself, giggling at Simon's words as he sighs.

" Everyone has their oddities Lady Simone," murmurs Mizu softly as he tilts his head in thought as he blinks for a silent moment at Celestines words. " I suppose it matters which things you're talking about..." Mizu tilts his head, thinking to himself as he moves to lean against a wall.

" Though...from how you act...and from what you said...my assumption would be you're the child of a light and dark spirit perhaps," murmurs Mizu softly.

Celestine clearly was the sort of person who delighted in ever being completely obvious in the way he dealt with giving out information, especially when it came to himself. He stayed where he was, leaning against the window near the rift as he watched the two child spirits wondering about his origins. Simon would probably never get it at this juncture without being told but it really just depend for Mizu on what he knew. Not that it had been publicized about his own birth.

"I wasn't just implying that it would be odd for someone who has has good an ability to discern as you to be in the dark about something like this. You're experienced enough to be above your age level, magic-wise, while the little light spirit you're affiliated with is at a level too low for someone his age."

Simon flushed in embarrassment, but it was clearly true. "Don't let it get you down, Simon," Celestine interjected, before he could get too distressed. "It seems you had a bit of a block about your powers. Well, just look at this place. It's full to overflowing with rifts to the dark and dead worlds not to mention the odd energy emanating from your master. The fact that you're persisting at all is a testament to your own internal potential as a light spirit."

Celestine nodded his head once when Mizu mentioned two particular things that shouldn't be together. "You're exactly right that a light and a dark spirit are traditionally two that shouldn't mate but you're wrong too since that doesn't really apply to me."

He waved his hand, sending sparks out from the palm of his hand. "What does this imply?"

Simon moved a little closer, "...Electricity." He didn't know how he'd known, but it had come into his mind, the element itself.

"Right, kid. Now how about this one?" the temperature around him grew subtly chilly and he produced a crystal of white ice in the air.

" People don't tell me much," murmurs Mizu, shrugging as he sighs, eyes half lidded, watching Celestine, blinking as the sparks appear, moving away from Celestine as Mizu seems to bristle. " Careful with that..."

Mizu looks toward Simon, eyes half lidded as he smiles ever so slightly. " You aren't really born a light spirit...not truly," murmurs Mizu as he turns his attention back toward Celestine, eyes half lidded as he sighs softly. " Lightning and Ice..." Mizu tilts his head, thinking to himself as he raises an eyebrow ever so slightly.

" That is a rather odd mix...not just because of the elements...but because in general most ice spirits live where most humans won't...and lightning elements don't tend to go up there," murmurs Mizu, smiling slightly as he giggles. " Though there's more too you isn't there..."

Celestine seemed amused that Mizu didn't like lighting but he appeared to be calmer the moment that he'd used ice in fast succession after it. He released the crystal and allowed it to turn to water as it came into contact with something in his hand that sparked like a rouge flame before it hit the ground.

"Yeah. I've encountered quite a few spirits in my time and I've never really seen a pair that utilizes ice and lighting. They'd probably just drive each other nuts unless they had more human-like personalities."

"So what are you then?' Simon asked, now getting the hint from all the different magic he seemed to be using.

"I'll get there in time. It's just been so long since anyone's been so interested in me. It'd be flattering if you weren't kids." He seemed annoyed for half a second as he dwelled on the fact that they were children rather than adults, but he recovered in the next minute when he waved his hand...but nothing happened.

"Uuh...' Simon started. Celestine waved his arm more furiously but, yet again, nothing happened.

"Oh damn. I guess I used it already," he lamented, pulling off the black glove on his right hand to reveal a strange sort of bracelet tucked under his sleeve. He pulled it off and Simon was surprised to find that it had a number of colored orbs, like buttons set an equal distance from each other on the metal. The aura he'd sensed upon his use of the elements had, as he then noticed, come from the bracelet rather than Celestine.

"I guess that's what I get for asking a trick question..." Celestine said to himself, pushing the pure white button and then he seemed surprised when a beam of light shot out and made the air sparkle before it dissipated.

"It's a trick?" Simon asked, moving a little closer till he was right by Mizu.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself, It's not like I'm powerless or anything," Celestine started, pushing at the dark blue button, but nothing came out.

" Hmm, most spirits have pretty human personalities," mutters Mizu softly, eyes half lidded as he watches Celestine as he sighs to himself. " Some are just more feral then others...most are more feral then me by far..."

Mizu raises an eyebrow at Celestine's "kid" comment as he makes a face. " I may be only 13 years old Celestine however for a while now I have not considered myself a "kid"," murmurs Mizu as a far off look takes over his face for a silent moment. " Kid means innocence...I may be someone's child...but I'm not a kid...talk to me as you would someone twice my age Celestine...I've seen more then most in there 40's have or wish to see..."

" Does it need to be recharged?" murmurs Mizu, watching the bracelet as he smiles slightly. " Or did you break it Celestine...really I'm quite interested in what you are and what that thing is..."

"A kid's a kid," Celestine said, shaking the bracelet out and then slamming it against the wall. A sheet of water issued from out of nowhere and Simon stepped back as it washed over his shoes.

"There we go. I won't treat you like you're forty. It doesn't matter what you have or haven't seen, just because that monster treats you like he does doesn't mean I have to." He pressed a dark button and Simon immediately stepped back as black light crawled out of the shadows in the room but in the next instant it was gone.

"Nah. It still has plenty of energy, I just shortcut every move to a different motion and I have a tendency to mix them up. The water sticks though, it's so temperamental, almost as much as the wind one. Oh, but you were asking me about what I am and what this is. Hmm but should I give it away without any sort of intrigue?"

Simon realized he feared Celestine far less than he'd done from afar. The man was strange, to be sure, but at the moment his odd eyes were fixed on the bracelet in such a way that he seemed almost harmless, or at least if he could cause trouble than the impulse to do so wasn't directed at them.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt to give you a little bit. I mean, it's not like there's much you could do with just knowing. It just makes me feel a little vulnerable. Alright."

He held out his hands and pressed them together before drawing his arms out. Nothing appeared to happen at first, but the tips of his reddish brown hair suddenly transformed in color and green spread out from root to tip. The overall effect was strange, it seemed like he was a completely different person but only the color of his hair had actually changed. He seemed serious for a moment and then suddenly laughed, out of nowhere.

"Such is the extent of my power. Or what I can do right here in front of you. The bracelet's just for show really. See, I'm not really normal in any species' sense of the word."

He held out his un-gloved hand toward the two children. "If you'd like, you can try and feel me out and I'll explain if you don't really get it."

" I just don't like the word," mutters Mizu softly, eyes half lidded as he watches as that water appears as he raises an eyebrow. " Sticky buttons could cause problems in the event of a bad situation..."
MIzu watches as those shadows appear, breathing out slowly as he giggles softly, seeing confused red eyes appear in those shadows for a second before disappearing. " You're going to draw Gami out if you spit out shadows..."

Mizu chuckles, eyes half lidded as he watches Celestine, a strange expression on his pale face. " Well I'm a shadowed water spirit...the child of a kappa and a succubus/shadow spirit," murmurs Mizu, tilting his head a bit as he grins. " I'm pretty unique in and of myself...same thing with Gami..."

Mizu watches as Celestine changes before his eyes, his own purple-red eyes watching the other as he tilts his head in thought.
" A shifter?" murmurs Mizu softly, a strange expression on his face as he watches Celestine. " I'm not certain about you at all..." Mizu sighs, shaking his head as he sighs softly. " You're...like a rainbow...sorta..."

"Shifter? Yeah, right. I wish. That would be awesome. No, the only thing I can do on my own is a spell that was given to me. It's just an illusion, I can alter my appearance ever-so-slightly but it takes concentration so I usually just end up doing the haircolor because it's too much of a bother otherwise."

"And there's a big difference between elementals and 'creatures' that use magic. Not all nonhuman creatures are bound to one element like your mother was."

Simon moved forward and gingerly touched Celestine's hand. He felt a strange rush and he put his injured hand to his chest to try and feel it out.
"It feels like...sorta what Mizu said. Like everything."

Celestine dropped his hand and sighed. "I guess it is too difficult to figure out just by looking at me. Sorry, but most of the people who know what I am knew from the moment I was born and I'm not used to explaining myself. The easiest way to classify me would be 'non elemental', I suppose. If you noticed, when you try and tap into my actual powers you''ll see each element on the surface except for light and dark. I consumed the other elements that I have in my body so I can use them but they're not originally mine."

He pulled a red dagger out from under the back of his coat, still sheathed, and held it loosely in his hand. "When I started all I had was this." He looked to them again. 'Damn. This is so difficult to explain unless you've been there...what do you know about angels, Simon?"

The boy shook his head. "Not much other than what I've seen in books..."

"Like I said, you were sort of right earlier, Mizu. My father was 'something' of an angel but my mother was definitely a devil. Non-elemental too. The closest equivalent would be dark but her powers were stranger than that. But I get the feeling that my old dad wasn't totally straight with either of us when he said he was an angel..."

Mizu tilts his head, eyes half lidded as a slight smile plays at his lips, listening to Celestine as his eyes fall shut, thinking for a silent moment as a smile plays at his lips. " I don't know about my dear mother being bound to one element...only one's shown up in me and that's the shadows...the darkness," murmurs Mizu, smiling as he stretches, eyes half lidded as he sighs. " My father though had water...and some light...if not I couldn't make my lovely healing crystals..."

Mizu sighs, tilting his head as he sighs softly, a strange expression over taking his face. " I know not all that use magic are elementals...my parents most certainly weren't...though I am," murmurs MIzu softly, a strange almost lost expression on his pale face. " Demons...devils are strange beings in and of themselves..." Mizu smiles slightly, thinking to an encounter he'd had once, with what most would consider a demon or devil...though obviously he wasn't truly a being leaning towards the dark elements.

" I've never met an angel...I did have the oppurtunity to meet a being once claiming to be a demon...but I think his family history is majorly misconstrued," murmurs Mizu softly as he sighs to himself.
" I didn't feel dark energy behind him...more light then anything...I'm leaning towards what some people call Nephilim...the child of an angel and a human perhaps...though bred down alot..."

Mizu blinks as he hears what Celestine says about his father as he tilts his head in thought for a silent moment. " Well...that's interesting in and of itself," murmurs Mizu softly, eyes halkf lidded as he smiles. " Perhaps he was half-angel...or just had an extremely high affinity to light or something..."

"It wasn't that he was an angel exactly that had me suspicious. He was a little too influential in the heavenly spheres. I should know since that's where we were born. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Births where my dad comes from are pretty damn regulated because you don't really want the bastard children of angels and other folk wandering around. It gets complicated in all sorts of ways."

He brushed a hand through his hair and looked a bit conflicted, as if he wasn't sure what to say next. "My brother got the raw end of the deal if you ask me. Did I mention I was a twin? We're not identical though in power or appearance. Instead of him being a strange mix, the devilish undertones to his magic actually powered his holy and light sides making him far more powerful than a half breed between such opposing species should be. As a result, he often loses control over his body and will wander around like some sort of zombie for years on end. When his devil side comes out, his body can't really take it and it does some strange things to him."

Simon cocked his head to the side, considering what he was saying. He had no reason to mistrust Celestine, the man's tale was so odd that he didn't find himself doubting it.

"You'd think I'd be the opposite but I guess since we're not identical that wasn't exactly how it went down. After I was born and they looked at me up there they honestly thought that I was the product of negation. It's rare, but sometimes the children of incompatible beings will have unconsciously forfeited all powers before birth in order to survive. So they treated me like a human, even though without powers I still wouldn't be one. So they decided that the best way to deal with me was to send me down to this realm and have me live with foster parents that were watered down light elementals. But I got hurt and ended up killing my foster mother by accident. After that they took a closer look and me and found that I was almost a child of negation. My power is non elemental because the devil and holy forces inside me cannibalize each other but neither can win since they're evenly matched. But I was dangerous and so I either would die due to one winning out over the other and the occurring burst killing me or else to be regulated. So the solution was to regulate me and as a result I can't use my own powers with my conscious will. I couldn't when I was a kid either so it doesn't change how I live. "

'What do you mean by regulate?" Simon interjected curiously.
