Rehearsal ran smoothly. Most watched him closer than usual, trying to commit most of the music to memory now and finding out which parts they really needed to focus on. Which pleased him but by no means made him giddy, as 'most' did not mean 'all'. Of all the people, Rei couldn't help but notice Isaac who managed to hold a mild conversation with Matthias during his rehearsal. Something he would usually call him out on. Now he was thinking of saving it for later. He did 'promise' if you were good and by the look on Matthias's face, Isaac had done the very thing Rei had asked him not to do. No funny ideas and to focus on rehearsal. It was a mild and short conversation that didn't bring itself off again when it was dropped but it stayed on his mind as he continued to give cues and point out errors that needed to be ironed it. Rehearsal ended on schedule and Rei announced the next one, to occur early in the morning. An announcement that had people groaning when they realized they were expected to memorize a piece and have a morning rehearsal at that. Waking up and starting the day with the conductor tended to not be an option many members liked to be forced upon them. Not that they had a choice as the rehearsal times were preplanned and he was simply reminding them of it. With it over, Rei sighed, going over the pieces with his pencil and marking it as York came up to him and glanced. "...You have a sharp written in where its supposed to be natural. Something on your mind?" York asked, watching as the man fixed his mistake without question. "...It was supposed to be a sharp." The fake mistake was changed. "...Rei?" "I'm in the mood for anything but French and liver related. Any suggestions?" |

Asking Matthias why he was dating York was a good reason for distraction, and besides, it wasn't like either of them needed to concentrate. They were the glue that held the entire phil together. They knew the music forwards and even backwards too...at least, Isaac knew it backwards. Ricci had inspired him that way. Anyway...that was his defense, should Pearce ever ask. Anyway...perhaps...perhaps he should-- "You're spacing out again," Matthias poked him in the side. "You better not be fantasizing." Isaac closed Pearce's case with a satisfying click, "Who said I need to? Are you and York fucking?" "What?" Matthias looked outright scandalized. "Probably this has never occurred to you, but you can be in a relationship and not sleep with someone." (Particularly if the said relationship didn't have any grounds whatsoever.) "Have some propriety. You claim to be British, have some propriety. Or has Bradley really corrupted you?" "Don't mention him, he's gone back to London and I hope he never returns to New York." Isaac said surly, "And you should already know that I haven't any propriety. Even if I am British." (Except Bradley hadn't really and Isaac didn't know.) So saying, he heaved a sigh and went with Matthias to where their respective...dates? were standing. So no French and no liver. Shame. "We can just go for drinks? Unless anyone is actually hungry." Matthias said quickly, before Isaac could hijack the conversation and make it into something stupid...like going to a German restaurant for their sausages or something. |

It was certainly strange for the four of them to all stand together, coupled up in ways his imagination would never have previously put together. The 'date' seemed to strange, especially considering how unique both couples were. The idea of just drinks made things seem much easier, as the conductor glanced at Isaac who seemed to be a bit disappointed about 'no french, no liver'. There wasn't going to be any flirting in front of Matthias and Nick, absolutely no way. Not that Isaac would care, as Rei had a feeling the violinist was going to be focused purely on his best friend and critic, specially why and 'how' they ended up being a couple. Rei could really only hope for the best and hope that everything would go well. So perhaps drinks would be safest. Everyone would be happy in the end. "Drinks sound fine," Rei replied cooly, continuing to gather his things as he watched a members of his phil slowly make their way out of the hall. Nick nodded, though he realized that making sure the couple end up separated by the end wasn't going to be easy. Unless they completely shot any sort of mood the couple might have. Especially Rei's. Isaac could probably get his back. Rei was stubborn, it was possible to ruin chances by going through him. "The cabs waiting outside," Nick spoke as he stretched his arms lightly. "Should we go to the usual place or somewhere new?" The question was directed as Rei, who shrugged lightly and glanced at Isaac. "Their choice." |
