Rei at the moment, liked not thinking. It was sending delicious tingles up and down his spine, particularly shooting right down to his groin. Especially when Isaac's hand began to jack him off, the natural warmth from the moment being enough to warm every inch of the usually icy conductor.

He didn't want it to stop. He wanted to eternally be in the embrace they were in, hands exploring and touching each others most sensual areas as they made out like teenagers.

Everything was gone from his mind. Until he heard the alarm, felt Isaac pull away and heard him cursing.

For a moment, Rei's eyes darkened in a rather strong irritation. If it was regret or anything of that, the man picked a damn bad time to bring it up. However, once the reason was explained, the anger lifted and Rei was left to make the horrible decision of arriving on time...or being late together.

He could afford neither. So he improvised. "Then we're going to have to make this end quickly," Rei spoke before moving down and fastening his lips on the mans cock and sucking, determined to get the man to cum, then send him on his way as Rei took care of his problem in the shower. Arrive separately, no suspicions and everyone was happy.

Not that there was anything wrong with necking like horny rabbits who were starving. And Isaac could have settled for not going to rehearsal at all, except he forgot that his boyfriend was a man of principle. Still, as principled as he was, he was suddenly in a hurry to suck Isaac off. WHether he would have normally been in complete agreement with all this, except--

Except he wasn't that stupid. Isaac most likely would never forgive him for what happened (or didn't happen, rather, over the phone) and the words stuck there.

"If I finish what it started I wouldn't be having any fun." Isaac was not in a mood to spend a whole rehearsal sexually frustrated, but he could hold his own. And besides, it wasn't like he was the only one in a predicament like that. In fact, it would be sort of amusing in a completely twisted way to take it. See who'd last longer. A risky gamble, but a risk that Isaac was willing to make.

Before he hazed away completely, Isaac wound his fingers into Rei's hair and tugged, not too hard, just enough to get his mouth away from his aching cock, although he was half hating himself for it.

"I don't want this to end so quickly." He squeezed his other hand, the hand that was still around Rei's cock a slow meaningful squeeze.

"I can hold out until after rehearsal if you can."

Rei's head was mulling over his decision, knowing that his lower half would be bitter at him for quite some time. He wondered what Isaac would chose, to finish it off by having the conductor 'finish what he started' and satisfy one of them...or let both of them suffer together.

It seemed that Isaac was listening.

As his hair was tugged lightly, his lips parted and allowed the cock to fall from his lips, raising a brow as his own erection was squeezed. The words made him smile though, arms reaching up to hug the man with a hazy smile on his face. "Then I guess that just means you'll have to come over after rehearsal."

There was obvious delight in his eyes, that his own satisfaction was being cared for. The phone sex situation wasn't on his mind nor was he aware at how the act of hanging up truly affected the violinist.

None of that mattered. Rei only saw the decision to wait, until a certain problem struck the conductor.

"...But I can't conduct like this." He mumbled, glancing down at his erection and willing some sort of horrible image to enter his brain. Standing and instructing with an erection wasn't commanding nor professional. It was down right humiliating. Isaac could hide it by sitting. Rei had to stand the whole time in front of an orchestra, lights shining down on him.

"I"d like that." Very much.

Quite obviously it bugged Isaac plenty. And right now, since an opportunity was more than shining down from above for him, he sure as hell was going to take full advantage. After all, Rei had humiliated him--from the way he saw it. He continued the rub his thumb against Rei's erection. As the problem was presented to him though, he mostly suppressed a smirk. That made for a nice mental image.

"You'll be fine, fake a limp and conduct sitting down. Sometimes my conductor from the London Phil did that." Of course he was doing someone else and not Isaac--not to mention that the limp wasn't completely fake. And yes, he knew that he was implying something else. Something that he'd like to get to ultimately, but not yet.

"But if we keep talking about this, though, I know we're going to be late. You're figure something out, you're a smart guy." It wasn't like Isaac dated idiots. With little enthusiasm, he moved to untangle himself from the other man's naked limbs and reached for his clothes.

"i'll just grab the violin and get out of your hair...where is it?"

Now that was a suggestion Rei couldn't accept. Conduct, with a fake limp, sitting down and probably slouched at that. "I'll think of something on the way."

Particularly something so horrible, he would turn limp in seconds. Like his brother in law. He frowned at the very thought. That was a bit too much, he wouldn't be able to do anything later if that image even cared to enter his mind. A secret from Sarah as she would probably ridicule the man until his grave.

Best not that and something else. It wasn't helping that the hand continued to rub at him, keeping him up as the light haired man raised his arms, stretching his back with a small yawn as Isaac moved out of bed and began to get dressed.

"Under the bed, pull out the box, combination 17-8-29, its the one on top." It wasn't hidden from possible thieves but from himself but he didn't want to think about that. Though he did feel the blood that was once rushing slow down at the thought.

He pushed himself out of bed, beginning to dress before humming lightly, a melody of a song they were going to be singing.

"Sure you will. Okay then." Isaac's movements, if he did say so himself, were ultimately sluggish but as he set his mind on something else, his mind began to clear. Which was good, because he did have to face Matthias. He pulled out the box as per instructions and twisted the lock nimbly with his fingers, it clicked open. He grinned up at the man still dressing on the bed.

"You make me feel like I'm playing a Strad or something." He stood, swinging the case over his shoulder. "I'll take good care of it. See you later." Deciding that it wouldn't be pushing his luck too much, Isaac climbed back on the bed and stole one last kiss, before he was out the door stopping en route to the bathroom for just a moment..

It took maybe ten sans traffic to get where he was going, but as he suspected, Matthias was waiting for him and looking none too pleased. "Did you get my message?"

Isaac said, "What message?"

Matthias' forehead prickled, "...Never mind." And then he looked his friend over, "Is that not your violin?"

"It's Pearce's violin." Isaac said, carefully the case down. "Which reminds me, can you rub my hands?"

Matthias looked at his hands, "...Where the fuck have they even been?"

Isaac said, "Interesting places, I washed them though, please?"

After pausing for a moment, Matthias took his hands. "You're really helpless you know. I hope you at least got somewhere." Or not really.

Rei was busy taking a particularly long stretch to really make a reply. He just nodded numbly before he was kissed lightly, watching as Isaac left and eventually, the door closed and left him all on his own. Leaving him to his own thoughts where his brain finally, was allowed to think.

What in the world had just happened? They had made out, gotten naked and could have continued doing god knows what if Isaac hadn't stopped. It was terrifying, how his mind wasn't even considering stopping then, not even for a moment. He had craved the warmth and he liked craving it. Now, he wasn't so sure but moments ago...he certainly would have gone all the way.

And he had gone and invited the man over after. To 'finish up'. God. Did he even pass on Derringer's message? He doubted it. He had been to preoccupied.

With a rather annoyed groan, Rei pushed himself out of bed and got dressed, glancing at the work he never finished with a firm frown. Now this was ridiculous, was that the mans ploy all along? Clever rascal.

Picking up the sheet music, he deposited it in his bag before slipping on his shoes, scarf and coat, grabbing the orange they never finished and eating it slice by slice as he made his way down, the security behind the desk nodding at him, signaling that he had already called a cab.

His rehearsal times were well known, considering the angry mutterings heard when he had to wake up too early in the morning. The cab arrived moments later and Rei got in, rubbing at his head and swearing to never, ever let Isaac massage him again.

[[ Welcome back! (I think?) ]]

Matthias was getting a very very bad vibe about this. There had been no message passed, no violin fetched from Isaac's own apartment, which was probably the only reason he had a violin that wasn't his own. But the science behind that, how Pearce even trusted Isaac to hold the instrument...that by itself was insane. He pressed his thumb into Isaac's palm.

"You're an idiot."

Isaac said, "Why would I be? I thought you'd be jealous. I think I'm quite the genius, if you catch my drift."

And that blew away any second guesses that Matthias might have had regarding his decision to ask York to observe rehearsal, granted, they'd never come up with an actual reason for York to come visit, but Matthias had survived one semester of drama school and well, York couldn't be that stupid.

But...he was so used to giving Isaac the benefit of the doubt that Matthias could not help but try again, "If I wrote you the cheque right now...would you walk away?"

Isaac paused, he withdrew his hands and set them on his knees. "Why would you even ask me something like that?" It wasn't like Matthias didn't have the balls to go throwing around cheques for twelve grand, but for some reason, the question felt deeper than that.

Matthias watched him, carefully, "Just wondering."

Isaac sucked in a deep breath, "...I dunno." He didn't know if that was...too honest. "I'm going to get some water."

(X_x, I came back from vacation straight into hell. I hate working.)

The taxi ride was long. Rei wasn't paying enough attention to note if it was traffic or just a sad attempt to earn an extra dollar, he just knew it was taking too long. An internal alarm clock that alerted him, even in his tired groggy state of mind.

Five minutes to spare before rehearsal, he made it, grumbling to himself as he took out the bills and handed them over before he heard a familiar voice call his name.

"Rei, how you feeling?"

He turned, nodding at the critic he knew so well. A coincidence perhaps, he'd find out in moments. "Much better."

"Get sick more often. Your concert was mind blowing," Nick teased before glancing at the hall. "You have rehearsal now? Isn't it usually in the morning?"

"I gave a break for a well done weekend."

"How is it a break if you still have rehearsal?"

At this, Rei gave a look that showed it should be obvious. "It's later and allows them to sleep in. Are you here to scoop or annoy?"

"Both. Want to see what new pieces you are going to start." It was strange as Nick had never showed a particular interest in the new music, but Rei didn't have the energy to fight it.

"Just don't be a bother."

So York did keep his end of the bargain and show up after all, actually, Matthias was relieved, if anything. But he knew it probably wasn't a good idea to butt in on their banter because hell, he didn't want things to seem more suspicious than they were already. Nick would most likely handle himself, after all. He probably handled Pearce like Matthias kept a leash on Isaac.

Speaking of Isaac...

"The fuck is he doing here?" Isaac sounded none too pleased when he returned on stage with his cup of water. Matthias noted that Isaac took extra care with the violin. His own violin was already worth an Escalade, maybe it was the fact that this violin belonged to his...boyfriend. Isaac really got into the roles he was playing.

"He's a critic," Matthias said, the 'duh' apparent in his tone. "If anything, he has a personal beef against you." Hey, that part was true. "Try not to annoy him today? Or give away the fact that you and Pearce are dating?"

Isaac studied his friend for a very long time, "It's no secret that Rei and I are dating, he probably already knows."

Matthias bit down hard on his lip, he didn't need to give away the fact that Isaac was more than right. "Still, you don't have to patronize him--" Except Isaac saw fit to interrupt his warning with the beginning bars of Sibelius' concerto, with the beginning notes echoing obnoxiously through the halls. As if that would prove something.

But Pearce's violin was a marvel, that much was true, and then Matthias had to wonder about things that he didn't want to wonder about. Why was he starting to get a very bad feeling about this whole...thing. To use any other word would be thoroughly self-incriminating.

“You know I can’t promise that,” Nick replied as he took out a cigarette from his pocket, placing the thin white roll in his mouth before he took out a lighter, covering the end as he let the flame do its work and could feel the smoke already working its magic. “Want one?”

Rei glanced at it, considering the option before shaking his head. “Not a whole one,” he replied, smiling lightly as he took the cigarette that was lit up, inhaling deeply before handing it back and exhaling slowly. “Now thats the stuff.”

“Sure you don’t want a whole one?”

“You know I’m a twenty minute blow at least,” Rei spoke before he heard Nick break out into a sharp laughter. “What are you—” he broke off, pausing as his earlier words finally made sense, his cheeks turning pink as he glared. “Shut up York, you know I didn’t mean it like that.”

Nick shook his head, slinging his arm around Rei as his body still shook lightly with laughter. “I can’t help it. You don’t usually make slips like that. You usually think too much to make that sort of mistake.”

The words did nothing to make him happy. “My intellect is fine. I’ve had a busy weekend,” Rei merely pointed out as he got his music ready, about to continue until he heard the sharp sound of his violin fill the hall. It was a different sound from Isaac’s, although it was played just as well. While Rei listened to the sound calmly, Nick however, seemed to darken at the sound.

“...Is that your violin?”

“He left his at home.”

“But you keep yours at home.”

The words were enough to bring silence and a horrible truth to the earlier conversations Nick had with Matthias. Where he doubted the mans words and just wanted to ‘play along’. But sharing violins? Now that was too far.

"Don't say I didn't warn you," Matthias muttered to himself. As far as he was concerned, he had very much covered his ass. He'd warned both sides of the potential volcanoes, and now he got to sit back and watch. It was a bit evil, maybe. But some evils were nothing short of necessary evils. For now, this whole situation hung on a knife's edge. It was kind of like watching a very intricate game show where one wrong move would set you back to zero. If that made sense at all.

"They look like they're flirting." Matthias said, because they had just sucked on the end of the same cigarette and he wanted to see Isaac's reaction.

Isaac paused for only two bars and glanced at the two men down there near the first row. "York is probably trying." He conceded with a grin.

Again, Matthias bit back the temptation to ask Isaac just what the hell he'd done to make him so damn confident, but he knew that was a lost cost, if anything. So he merely rubbed his forehead and said, "Jesus."

Actually, Isaac wasn't sure if they were or not. But he knew better than to make a scene in front of York. Contrary to what everyone else thought, he did learn something from that incident. Besides, it'd taken him this long, the least he could do was have a bit of faith in Pearce, maybe. (And trying to hang all over him during rehearsal wasn't something that Isaac was quite brave enough to try...yet. But he was on his last week and a half.)

That reminded him, he needed to let 'Rei' slip once during rehearsal just to see the reaction. After all, nothing said more than that. Rei had already let slip Isaac plenty of times. Isaac didn't think he would if he slipped once.

Right?

But then Patricia just had to bounce in (insufferably happy thing that she was doomed to be for the rest of her life) and clapped both of them on a shoulder each, shaking Isaac out of his thoughts and interrupting his smooth run up to the high F.

"Hey, hey! You got a new violin? Let me see."

The day that Isaac 'let her see' would be the day that he lost his job. But losing his job this way wasn't exciting at all. "No, the violin isn't even mine." He deadpanned.

"Who's is it?"

Matthias said, "Maestro Pearce's."

Patricia covered her mouth--she had painted her nails again. What kind of decent violinist painted her nails? "Oh. My god, so you two are really...ohmygod."

Isaac did his best to look rather not guilty and with all intentions, failed miserably. "I guess we are. Only privately though, so no joking about it, or I will use my authority as concertmaster to kill you."

(Matthias could have told him that Isaac from a month ago would have flaunted that fact until kingdom come. Something had happened. And if that something wasn't sex, it had to be something pretty damn close.)

"I can't believe you gave him your violin," Nick practically hissed. "You never let anyone borrow your violin. Regardless of the situation." There was no answer as the light haired male merely kept walking to his spot, even as he was slowly followed by the critic who felt his mind going a mile a minute to figure out the information. "...But which one did you give him?"

"Who do you think you're talking to?" Rei snapped, rolling his eyes before the expressionless look was renewed on his face. It was a question that immediately calmed down the smoker.

It was the other violin, the emergency violin. Not the violin. It was enough to calm him down immediately.

"You had me worried."

Rei raised a brow as he organized his papers. "I have no doubt you'll find another reason in mere seconds to have you all irritated." Nick frowned at the words, not registering them until he remembered why Langley would need to borrow a violin in the first place. Thoughts and conversations that made him horribly uncomfortable and ready to groan.

"You said you don't sleep with your phil."

"We haven't slept yet."

"Yet?"

"Shut up. My rehearsals about to start. You can badger me about it during break and after."

Nick's wheels turned as he realized the one thing he could do. "Eat out after? We can have a double date."

The phrase made Rei pause and stop the words he was going to speak to get the philharmonics attention. "...Double date? Since when are you dating anyone? And who?"

Now, Nick wasn't proud of what he did next. Desperate times called for desperate situations and when was cornered and irritated, he stopped thinking. "Matthias. Don't spread it, not that you would but--oh look at that, time for rehearsal! I'll just watch." Nick shuffled away to a side seat, grumbling and cursing his own words as Rei stood there, eyes wide in shook as he stared at Matthias and back to Nick.

He didn't let his mind focus, clearing his throat as the sound caught the attention of the musicians. "We'll start with sectionals on the new piece."

Patricia just giggled, "Of course I won't, you guys look just adorable!"

Adorable, right.

Up on the stage, Matthias would have gone extremely green if he had been privy to the stunt that Nick had just pulled. Seriously, Nick York was not a bad guy, but...dating him was another matter entirely. Besides, musicians never dated critics. Probably made for a lot of angry sex -- or he was just not going to think about that. Raising up his own violin, Matthias hurriedly glossed over the opening bars of Von Suppe's Poet and Peasant Overture. It wasn't an all around difficult piece but he hoped their principal cellist didn't fall asleep in the middle.

"We'll start with sectionals on the new piece."

Isaac grinned and got to his feet, Matthias said, "What's with that?"

"What's with what?"

Matthias gestured, "It's creepy."

"It's so not creepy, I can't help it." Isaac gestured for the strings to tune up as the winds and the brass left the room, It was so nice being a string player. And York was down there, well, York could just watch. And fume, and write a bad review because Isaac was potentially tapping something that he couldn't even touch.

The thought actually made him giddy. After a moment, he sat down and flipped the music open again.

And it was natural, he didn't even have to force it much, "Hey...Rei? You're not planning to do the accelerando around measure thirty, are you? Because if you are, well, a cue would be much appreciated, merci."

Matthias gave an inward groan, so Isaac was so romantic that he had to insert French into everyday conversation? He was completely doing that on purpose. Obviously Pearce was going to call him out on it. Fucking (or almost fucking) your boss really had that disadvantage.

((OOC: I HATE THE PREVIEW BUTTON! *keeps pressing preview instead of Submit* ;; I've written a reply to this topic four times. FOUR *sobs*))

It was slowly hitting Nick what the implication of his statement was. Calling each other to plan a separation of the couple was one thing. Pretending to be a couple in order to get more information out of the pair was another. Things like, how they acted in public and with each other in a semi closed off type of area. But in order to get that, they'd have to play a couple. A flawless couple, who was into one another.

God, Nick was regretting it already. He was missing his usual hook ups, the girls and men who flocked to his bed in hopes that their tricks in bed would result in a rave review. Sometimes it worked. Mostly, it didn't, as Nick rarely let his reviews become biased.

But Matthias would not take this lightly. So even if it didn't matter and the violinist would only receive the message too late, Nick very lightly took out his phone and texted an apology and a small plea to not be murdered.

He'd get the man to swear not to strangle or injure him in any way, then tell him. If anything they could have a marvelous break up. And not even sleep together. Which really wasn't a relationship in Nick's opinion but he wasn't going to go around making that known. Because then it would have to be applied to Rei and Isaac, which made him groan and had him zone out as he sat on his chair and listen to the strings tune up.

Rei however had kept his emotionless look on quite flawlessly as he stood their organizing his papers, not noticing how Isaac jumped happily and seemed to surprise most of the philharmonic. He only paused and focused when he heard his name, blinking a few times as two things seemed to catch his attention.

His first name, used so openly and calmly that seemed to brush by everyone else easily and stood out to him strongly. Next was the french, which sent some blood to areas he shouldn't think about. That smart ass, doing it because he knew the effect the language strangely had. It wasn't his fault that Isaac's voice sounded luxurious in the language. Stupid bloody Isaac.

"I'll give you the cue." It was a simple retort that had him lock eyes with the concert master before he looked back at his notes. It seemed the younger man had been looking forward to the continuation of earlier events more than the conductor had previously assumed.
