"The only reason why I'm ignoring all those reasons is because you're paranoid," Isaac returned. That was perhaps the best way to think about it. After all, Rei was as paranoid as the next person. Could probably even give Larsen a run for his money. Larsen liked triple-checking everything and it drove him nuts that his youngest brother hardly checked anything...at all.

"We should trade, one of these days, I should worry about you and you should worry about me, I'm sure we'd both be a lot more productive that way." Although...Isaac was sure that Rei would keep up his end of the bargain tenfold if he only had Isaac to worry about. Isaac wasn't an excessively worrisome person, he did everything in moderation.

But Rei had a point. He was here, spending the night at Isaac's. It was already a huge leap. "Bon nuit."

Morning, the thing was, Isaac usually woke early, but he didn't get around to actually getting out of bed until sometime around noon. But today...today someone was nestled close to him.

That someone was his conductor and Isaac would have jumped had he not remembered. Since he did, he lay still, although his arms were bit a bit numb from staying in the same position all night.

The moment Rei woke up, warning bells shot off in his bed. He was not in his bed. While this bed was quite comfortable, the mattress didn't fold to his body like he was used to, nor was the pillow the perfect medium between fluffy and hard.

Next was that he was warm. Much warmer than usual and when his body turned just on reflex, he felt something around him. He already realized the bed felt strange because he was only partially on it. One leg and his arms were currently on something, or rather someone.

His eyes flew open and as he saw Isaac, his mouth opened to say something before he remembered. They stayed over. Isaac remained innocent as he had promised. They had slept together.

And Rei didn't have a single nightmare about the day Julia died.

In fact he had a strange dream. A dream about playing the violin and what worried him most of all were the people watching. Isaac and Julia.

Rei ignored it as he noticed the man awake, moving around slightly to stretch his muscles. "Morning."

Yes, it would seem that Isaac had slept with his concertmaster without sleeping with him. Was that an accomplishment? Probably very much so. He was about to drift off to sleep again when he realized that Rei had moved. Isaac let out a slight groan as he moved to stretch his arms. "Morning." He mumbled, "I'm usually not functional in the morning so...I'm going back to bed."

He'd really done it. Slept together with clothes on, although this particular scenario was obviously not going to get him twelve grand. Idly, he massaged some feeling back into his arms and opened his eyes. Rei lay there next to him and Isaac found himself smiling. It really was a bit too loverly for his own good, but he couldn't help it. He'd really done it, and really, he felt entirely too proud.

"How'd you sleep?"

Probably Rei would leave after that, after all, the guy seemed like an early riser, and even though they didn't have a particularly memorable night, it was still not a reason for him to stay any longer. But when Isaac felt his own forehead for fever, it was gone. That was a good thing, to say the very least.

Rei didn't get up. He didn't quite have the energy, though he did have the decency to take back his leg that was resting on the mans thigh. They hadn't only just merely slept together. Oh no, they had slept together like lovers, the typical hold reserved for post sex. But no, they had, without taking off a single article of clothing, managed to just sleep together.

"...I slept well," Rei admitted, though he didn't elaborate on the details. "How about you?"

He didn't leave right away. He wasn't quire sure he wanted to, as he watched Isaac slowly debate between going back to sleep or staying away. But it was the hand that tried to measure his own temperature that got him.

His hand leaned over, strangely enough not ice cold like usual, to notice that the fever was gone. "See? I told you that resting would help."

Rei decided he didn't want to leave just yet. He had work to do yes...but he could stay a few more minutes.

Well, there wasn't any rule that specified that they had to have good sex before lying together like they had just had sex. Somehow, this worked for them. He noted it when Rei took his leg off his thigh, but it seemed too much of an effort to acknowledge it. At seven am in the morning, yeah, it was certainly too much work. After he checked his temperature, he felt the other man's hand brush over his forehead, "Right, I see you weren't kidding about the double checking thing. I'm fine." Besides, Isaac was pretty good at bouncing back.

"That's good, I'm glad." When asked how he slept, Isaac rolled over to look at the ceiling, as if the ceiling had answers. "It wasn't bad. Just...a bit different." A lot of different, maybe. It'd been a while since he had shared a bed with anyone, post-sex position or not.

Ugh, seven am, entirely, entirely too early. His eyelids felt heavy again so Isaac closed his eyes and snuggled deeper in his blankets.

"Are you going to go right now?" Or could he actually be convinced to stay for breakfast? But breakfast would mean getting out of bed and walking to the kitchen. Too much physical work right now.

Rei frowned, raising a brow as he replied merely on reflex. "If you have a fever, your hands will be warmer than your usual body temperature so you won't be able to properly check." His hands were cold and everything felt warm but it was significantly cooler than last time. "And there's nothing wrong with double checking."

It was strange to wake up next to a body, especially after a long night rather than a short nap. Though it felt like a nap. Rei glanced at the time, noticing just how early it was and going through the list of things to do in his mind.

He had to go now, even if he didn't want to. "Yeah," he spoke, knowing that even if breakfast was a lovely idea, it wasn't possible at the moment. "I'll see you later though?" He offered, as he slowly lifted up the blanket and let the cool air steal the warmth away from him.

Shivering slightly, he pushed himself off the bed before he raised his arms and stretched, revealing some of his skin above his pants. "Make sure you get some more rest. You don't want it to bounce back and hit you harder."

Having an older boyfriend with a straightlaced work ethic was not good for him, Isaac decided as he buried his head in the pillow once more. There went all his plans for morning cuddles and whatnot, didn't seem fair. Not that he had any plans like that to begin with, actually, but still. It didn't seem quite apt that way.

"You're still paranoid, I'll take any opportunity to stay in bed, so you don't have to worry so much on that front." They really should switch places, except Isaac had the weirdest feeling that Rei would probably smother him with concern, and while that wasn't exactly a bad thing, it wasn't something he'd like to stand two weeks enduring.

"You're a little bit unbelievable." He mused as he rearranged the blankets around himself, "If you're not going to eat breakfast here, at least promise me you won't forget to eat something..." And then he raised an eyebrow, okay, so maybe Rei was a little bit more than unbelievable.

"Yeah, I guess you will see me later...don't I at least get a good-bye kiss?"

Rei paused as breakfast was brought up. He'd probably go home, take a shower, begin calling people, organize and immediately begin working. Breakfast wasn't even on the agenda. But did he have that much work to do? Half of it was double checking things anyway.

Was he really that paranoid?

"...I can't promise to not forget," he mumbled quite honestly, knowing that of all the needs he needed to remember, this would certainly be something he threw aside.

So he wondered. If he should really leave, when it was much earlier than it needed to be. As long as he got started at around noon he'd be fine...which surprised him. Rei was trying to convince himself not to leave. He bit his lip before he turned, smiling slightly as he sat on the bed once more, leaning on top of the man who cocooned himself in blankets before giving him his 'good bye kiss'.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to stay just a little bit longer.

"You're unbelievable." Except Isaac murmured that in French buried against his pillow, so it came out jumbled, so maybe it was in his best interest to repeat himself, "You're unbelievable, I'm going to make you stay for breakfast just so you --" okay, not expecting the kiss right then and there, but was nice, "eat." Two could play the paranoia game, Isaac was a fast learner.

He unwrapped himself a little from the blankets to trap the man on top of him. After all, at the end of the day, Isaac still was going to have the upper hand physically. And if he wanted his conductor to stay for breakfast, he'd stay for breakfast. And besides, Matthias did not ever have to know, his friend was notorious for his long, long morning showers.

"I"m not going to let you up until you agree to have breakfast..." Isaac smirked sleepily at him, of course...the fact that he looked sleepy at all sort of defeated the whole purpose of the thing.

"And this is coming from someone who sleeps till one pm and never has breakfast...it's special." Isaac reached to kiss the side of Rei's jaw.

"Please? For me?"

The foreign language wasn't expected. Rei had no idea of Isaac repeated himself or not, though he smiled when the man made his demand. He almost laughed when he felt the arms hold him to the other tightly, quite meaningful in their threat.

He didn't want to test to see how honest the man was being, because doing so would involve long hours and make him lose some sleep later.

His lips pursed, wondering what to say to the smirking man above him who managed to be commanding yet sincere all at the same time, the lips that pressed into his jaw tingling.

"Fine," he murmured as he ended his resistant, collapsing into the mans embrace. "I'll eat your breakfast."

But really, wasn't the pot calling the kettle black? For someone who didn't eat breakfast to be chastising him, it was ridiculous.

Well, no, not really, it wasn't like Isaac was forgoing food to work his arse off and never see the light of day, he was merely forgoing food to sleep. And besides, it wasn't like he thought it was practical to get up early in the morning and then eat, and then go back to sleep. That sounded wholly impractical in every way possible. "Hey, people need sleep as much as they need food, I'm not hypocritical at all. Come on, let's go see what's in the fridge."

As far as Isaac knew, there wasn't much by the way of breakfast food in their kitchen because a.) Isaac always liked sleeping in and had no need of a breakfast, and b.) Matthias preferred walking half a block to his favorite sandwich deli.

But after digging around a little, he found bread and peanut butter, and it wasn't much of a breakfast, but at least it was something.

"If we do this sometime again, I'm going to actually have to go shopping for breakfast food." Although coffee was something that Isaac always had in plenty, "...I might have brandy." He smiled over, "Would you like some?"

If he stepped back and looked at it, this all felt weirdly domestic. It was just weird.

Rei got up, feeling the cold air cling to his skin once more as Isaac opened the fridge and began to search for anything similar to breakfast. The results were bread and peanut butter. While a tasty snack, the conductor raised an eyebrow at the food.

"...I'm going to be borrowing your kitchen," he spoke, the only warning the man head before the fridge was reopened the the light haired man scanned it, nodding at the sight of eggs and tomatoes. He extracted some immediately, searching through a few cabinets before he found a frying pan and everything he needed to make an omelette.

As the eggs slowly began to cook, Rei cut up the tomatoes into slices, motioning for some sort of plate to put them on.

"...Coffee and brandy sounds marvelous," he added as he continued bustling around.

While he wasn't a frequent breakfast eater, Alice was. He learned for a reason, as Sarah once warned that making sure she had a healthy balanced diet was essential.

"My place is probably a better food option if we do this again."

And then to make it even more domestic, his sandwiches were denied and his conductor was cooking in his kitchen, all right then. Isaac never spent a lot of times on breakfast, although he was good at seasoning steak. He wasn't even that good as far as culinary arts were concerned. Matthias was better at that, anyway. So he merely busied himself pouring two cups of coffee and fetching the brandy. He'd never had his coffee like that before, but hey, they were trying out new frontiers here.

He took an experimental sip, it wasn't half bad, and then he got up to walk over to where Rei was obviously taking command over his kitchen. A little awkward but...

"I'd never figured you for the cooking type, I got lucky there." He gestured with the cup, "Some coffee?"

But when Rei said that this was probably better at his place, Isaac looked surprised. Well, yeah, of course it would, Rei lived alone and there would always be an empty apartment at their deposal, but somehow...

"Are you saying that because you finally trust me?" He mused, tilted his head to one side, because most times, it felt like Rei was keep him at arm's length. Gathering an invite to his conductor's place really was a big thing.

With a flick of his wrist, the pan tilted and let the eggs, sunny side up, slide right unto the plate before he pulled back, keeping the cooking oil still in the pan and placing it in the sink. "I live alone, I had to learn," Rei spoke, nodding as he accepted the coffee and took a nice slow sip.

Ah. A kick start and the best way to start off the day.

Except what in the world was Isaac referring to when he mentioned 'trust'?

"Trust you in what sense of the word?" He spoke, somewhat teasing but still serious. "I trust you enough to take care of me when I'm sick, to respect my barriers and mean what you say," he spoke, relaying what had gone between them so far.

"Besides, you've already slept at my place. I don't trust you fully yet but it's certainly growing," he offered the plate to the man, some slices of tomato, the piece of bread from before and the egg all nicely spread across.

"Ah...fair point," Isaac agreed, of course, when he had lived by himself briefly in London, he'd never learned how to cook, which was...weird. Isaac chalked it up mostly to laziness and seeing as how Rei Pearce was obviously much much more work-oriented than he was, Isaac usually walked five minutes to the nearest cafe and pretended that he was European, mostly for the looks. "But you know, you're talking to me, even when I did live alone..."

He took a sip from the cup once Rei had handed it back, "Yeah...but I haven't slept over over, certainly no reason to make me breakfast? Not that I'm complaining..." he had no reason to complain when Rei all but shoved a plate at him, even though Isaac was enough of a food junkie to judge good food, it smelled good.

Isaac put down the cup of coffee and nipped off a piece of egg with his fingers, surprisingly, given the fact that the food came from his fridge, it wasn't bad. And he grinned over, "Not bad...but aside from the paranoia, I don't think you can do anything badly."

But he had to think a minute before shrugging, "I dunno, yeah, I guess...we did get this far, but if I do get invited over to your place one of these days, I don't want you to freak on me." He was still a bit weary on that point.

They were improving nicely, but still...
