Security let him in without a problem and gave Rei the quick directions to help him along his way. Elevator to the left, up a few floors, take a right, take another right and it'll be the first door on the left. Thank goodness his memory was good. He walked down the halls, holding his ridiculous bag of oranges before he noticed the black haired man, leaning against the door, with tousled hair, pale skin and the thick blanket over his shoulders. In a strange moment of dellusion, Rei could only think of one thought as he stared at his new found boyfriend he had gotten sick. Isaac looked beautiful. Sure he was sick, but he looked happy and strangely enough, adorable. Even if he was towering over Rei. Which was a thought he pushed out before smiling softly and walking toward him, stopping to hold up the large bag. "...Vitamin C?" |

[[I feel the need to throw confetti! Yay 600! ]] When Rei finally did appear in his line of sight, Isaac was somewhat gratified to see that the conductor, his -boyfriend- (God, that sounded so weird) did not arrive empty handed. Instead, he had arrived hoisting a large bag of oranges. "Aren't you thoughtful, I guess my pseudo-lecture over the phone paid off? Thank you, by the way. I guess I can use some." he stepped back and opened the door wider, "This place used to be neater a couple of days ago, but my brother left and neither me nor my roommate are OCDed, so...it actually looks like an actual living space..." Well, Isaac had done it, Rei was here inside of his apartment, had oranges for him like a caring boyfriend would... "On the downside, I sort of look a mess and shouldn't let you see me like this." Isaac had an image complex as much as he had an inferiority complex sometimes. Maybe. He took the bag of oranges and moved to deposit them on the table. "D'you want anything to drink?" |

(( ;; I'm so proud of ourselves)) The moment was ruined the second his rather ill boyfriend opened his mouth. Rei rolled his eyes, giving the other a flat look. "I'm a fast learner." He entered slowly before he grinned. "And your welcome." Isaac's apartment wasn't as messy as Rei imagined it would be, and it looked exactly like it was described to him. An actual living space rather than something similar to ikea. He didn't mention the apartment, glancing at the others messy appearance before reaching up and running his fingers through the dark hair. "You look charming," he reassured before looking around and frowning. "I'm here to take care of you, not the other way around," Rei put his hands on the others back, giving a small push before he realized he had no idea on where anything was. "...Go lie down. I'll peal an orange for you meanwhile," he spoke, wondering slightly exactly what he should do. He couldn't remember what taking care of someone who was sick felt like. Isaac had just allowed himself to be cuddled for a certain period of hours though Rei wasn't sure that was going to work again in this case. |

Wasn't like Isaac was pro at this boyfriend thing, either. "All sarcasm aside, I'm glad you're learning." "Jesus I just asked if you wanted a drink, I didn't mean..." he trailed off when Rei reached to run a hand through his hair. Could this be any more awkward? It was unlikely. It was laughable, really, neither of them knowing what to do. Isaac liked taking care of Rei better, all he had to do was cuddle. And now Rei was going to peel him oranges and play mother hen. Might even give Matthias a run for his money. "Yeah, yeah, I will...just...well, if you do want a drink, there's juice in the fridge, vodka too, but I doubt you want to touch that. I might be sick, but I'm not going to be a lousy host. There's a peeler in the drawer over there." Isaac stumbled to his bedroom and curled up on the bed. Being sick wasn't fun, even if you did have a boyfriend to cater to your every whim. |

They were so awkward together, not knowing what to do. Sure, last time Rei was sick, he knew exactly what he wanted Isaac to do when he came over. He wanted him to not move and keep him warm, but Rei couldn't do that. He was cold, and wouldn't be much help at all. "I can use my hands," Rei mumbled, watching as he slowly moved to the room and got quiet, only the rustling of sheets revealing that he was in fact doing what he was told. He peeled the orange in the kitchen, separating the pieces but keep them in the peel so it wouldn't get messy. He followed the sick man, smiling as he saw the pale man all curled up in blankets. Rei couldn't help but laugh before smiling at the other. "This seemed a lot easier when you came to take care of me," he pointed out lightly, even if to just lighten the mood. |

When he realized that Rei was in the room with the newly peeled orange, Isaac shifted over on the bed to make room. Because he was hardly ever sick, so of course he didn't know how to tell people to take care of him. That was his very, very valid excuse, really. "Course it is, you just needed to cuddle, and...before you get offended there's nothing wrong with cuddling, I can't remember the last time I was sick. I was still out of the country, maybe." He patted the bed and smiled back, whatever this was, it was still a nice moment. Even though neither of them had any idea what they were doing. "You can come here and sit and feed me oranges and we can try to semi-cuddle and maybe things won't be awkward." "Besides, my area of expertise does extend beyond elementary school kids, I still don't understand how you can stand them. Maybe I'm still biased against my nephews." Alice wasn't...that bad. |

"If there was anything wrong with cuddling, I would have pushed you away," Rei pointed out, remembering the feeling as Isaac slowly moved over so there was room. His shoes had been slipped off by the entrance, so Rei sat down, crossing his legs before wondering just what to do. And the answer was given to him. He didn't say anything, because he didn't feel the need to at the moment. So with a hand full of peeled oranges, he moved just a bit closer before taking one of the slices and offering it. Maybe this whole thing wouldn't be too bad. He felt oddly comfortable, even if Isaac, trying to act like he usually did, looked obviously ill and wasn't happy with his appearance. "Sam and Alice. I basically raised the two, though that ended after they both called me 'dad' in front of their respective parents." Iain almost got a heart attack and his mother couldn't stop laughing for at least an hour. "I'm sorry for getting you sick." |

"That's not what I meant, but ah...never mind. I must be delirious again." Not that Isaac was the most coherent person ever since he was sick anyway. In fact, everything was a bit ridiculous. When Rei moved to sit, Isaac shifted so that his head was no longer on the pillow but on Rei's lap instead. If it was too bold, the man could always tell him to move. But they were boyfriends now, so. "I envy your sense of responsibility. Although I have problems with anyone calling you 'Dad', you honestly don't look the type." He took the piece of orange offered to him and chewed carefully, although he drew the line at licking Rei's fingers. As far as he knew, he was still contagious, maybe. "The oranges are good." he added mildly as an afterthought. But when Rei honestly apologized for getting him sick? Isaac quieted down again and raised a hand to brush again his boyfriend's cheek (Wasn't so awkward the second time, that was a good sign.) "Seriously, it's not your fault. Hormones and desperation explain everything, don't worry about it so much, Rei." |

Rei wasn't expecting the man to use his lap as a pillow, his eyes widening a bit as he bit his lip cutely wondering what to do. He didn't really mind it though, so he didn't mention it, watching as the man ate the orange slice offered to him. "Its one of my most terrifying memories," he joked, remembering how the children needed to be sat down and explained who their rightful parents were. It was how the name 'unka' and 'big brother' became his official titles, happily taken instead of 'dad'. "I'm glad they're good," he spoke, stealing one for himself before he felt the hand brush against his cheek, glancing down softly. "...Hormones and desperation?" Now that certainly wasn't what he was expecting. "I'm naturally cold, so when a human thermos such as yourself comes along and takes me home, it is the instinctual reaction to cuddle." He pressed a hand down on the others forehead, the chilled fingers a startling difference against the warm skin. "See? Always cold." |

O-kay, so...he wasn't going to contradict him, or tell him to get off his lap. Isaac supposed he should be happy about that. It was what couples did, after all, right? "I'll bet...the idea of being anyone's old man just makes me shudder, but then again, I tend to avoid responsibility like the plague." (Considering how he had been extremely responsible during the past two weeks though...that was a bit contradictory.) "Yeah, hormones and desperation, it worked for teenagers, it'd work now." He took another slice of orange and popped it in his mouth. Rei looked good like this, relaxed, without a care in the world and Isaac using his lap as a pillow. But before that could accidentally slip out, he turned his eyes towards the ceiling. "Well, yeah, I guess that too, but that only proves that you were not always a pervert." But when he felt the warm fingers on his skin. Isaac shifted his attention back to Rei's face as he reached to take the hand into both his own, "Bad circulation is bad for playing the violin, you know. You're kind of amazing." (And no, that was mostly not sarcastic. in fact, he might have meant it a bit too much.) |

Avoiding responsibility like the plague? Rei bit back how Isaac had been on time always for the past few rehearsals and was actually acting a bit responsible but he let it slide. Best not to argue or upset someone who's sick. "I'm almost thirty, my hormones don't work the same way anymore," he spoke, purposefully forgetting their little exchange in the theatre where Rei sat on the mans lap. He frowned though at the next words. "You don't call someone who brought your oranges and took a cab to get here in order to take care of you a pervert," he lectured slightly, the stern look on his face going on just by reflex before it calmed down when his cold hand was taken by warm ones. It was bad for playing violin, not that it stopped him. "You've never heard me play, you can't know I'm amazing," he teased before shaking his head and letting his fingers tangle with the slender calloused ones. "I never let it stop me though...I practiced and practiced, maybe that's why they're so rough and scarred even though so many years have passed." He lifted up his other hand, noting a few scars here and there when a string snapped painfully, bringing back many painful memories. "I can't believe you sent Derringer across town to the most expensive italian restaurant." |

"But I'm kind of Isaac and I can...sort of, you know I don't mean it, anyway." Isaac said as he took another slice of orange. This one, he chewed slowly. "Besides, if you found me offensive, you've probably would have run away from me a long time ago. I still have a few Get out of Jail Free cards." Being sick was one of them. Fortunately. "You should never underestimate hormones, I come from a family of physicians and they're all in agreement that hormones can do wondrous things. For example, it fucked me over." No one was happy that Isaac ditched medical school for the sake of being a lowly classical musician. And now he was dating one, he was sure Larsen was updating the rest of the Langley brood and they were all shaking their heads. For a moment after he swallowed, he was quiet. "Well, even if you weren't Paginnini reincarnated, you've got to be something close to that. You can't just squeak out Twinkle Twinkle and expect people to talk about you. Or maybe you are too modest for your own good...I should learn from you...and--" "I did catch you playing once. You didn't sound half bad. Are you trying to convince yourself that you're bad?" It was a blunt question, perhaps too blunt. |

"But if I run away now, who will I cuddle with if I'm cold?" It was a rather innocent change of topics, though it was interesting to hear a bit more about the mans family life. A family full of physicians, with a single son who went into the world of classical music. Sure the job would have been glorious a hundred or so years ago, but now? It was more of a fantasy. "Sure, you have a giant ego, a few complexes here and there and have sarcasm and 'wit' running through your veins, but I don't see how hormones have destroyed you." Perhaps the Langley family would view Rei as a lowly musician, but he was a musician with a hefty amount of money, startling connections and a former prodigy. Former being the key word. "...When in the world did you catch me playing?" He asked slowly, a bit worried as he averted his eyes from the knowing green ones. "And I was a good violinist. I could even give you a run for your money," he spoke as he took his hand back, handing the other another orange slice before pressing his hands against the mans forehead. "But that's in the past. I did do something bad and now it isn't right for me to play. I'm just selfishly staying in this world by conducting, so let an old man have his joys." |

"My body temperature is my insurance now?" Isaac laughed a little, "Interesting. But it's good that you wouldn't miss my godly hands any." And then Isaac sighed, crossing his arms over his chest when Rei took his hand away. Although he gladly accept the orange slice, taking the time to chew so that he would have time to come up with an answer. He wasn't proud of a lot of things that transpired in his past, but...at least he wasn't hiding from--many of them. "Apparently, when I was twelve, I had the biggest crush on my violin teacher, I don't even remember her name now, seriously. But...I never took med school very seriously after that. So yeah, hormones' fault. I love it when there's a somewhat scientific explanation on why I'm extremely shallow." And then he quieted. Rei Pearce was making him sound like a good person. Isaac wasn't used to that. He said, "This would be one of those sappy moments where I kiss you, but I have to remember that I'm sick..." The conversation moved on. "The day you gave me your answer, I stood there for a little while and listened to you. You didn't sound bad." Well, he could push his luck a little, right, "What if the old man's sick boyfriend is whimsical and wants to be serenaded to sleep with the violin? What are you so afraid of, anyway?" That was the thing that came back to him again and again, made no sense. "What's past is past, we all eventually have to deal, mine even came back from London to haunt me." |

"I'm glad you're finally catching on," Rei grinned, smiling at the laughter as the man stubbornly crossed his arms and chewed the orange slice. "I never said I wouldn't miss your hands. Maybe they'd manage to undo a knot permanently." It was hard to find a back like Rei's. Constantly knotted, a prime example of what stress could do to an important group of muscles. It was interesting to hear how Isaac got into the world of classical music, making Rei hum for a moment. "Then I'm quite happy you have hormones and had a crush on your violin teacher. It brought you to my phil," he offered, not willing to imagine this with someone else. A rather strange chemistry he couldn't imagine. "...Then we'll merely swap and get another excuse to cuddle for a few hours." He leaned over, brushing his lips softly against the violinists before leaning up and offering another orange. Ah, so it was the single note. The one A, the sound and sensation of that note. "I played a single note. That hardly counts as hearing me play, its hardly even fooling around." Though it was strange to hear that someone had in fact heard him, something that not many could reveal recently. Isaac was desperate to get an answer but Rei had grown talented in averting the subject. "Then the old man will tell his sick boyfriend that technology is a wonderful thing and that he has some songs on his phone." Rei was never the serenading type anyway. "Don't bring up that broadway blond, you'll ruin the mood," he retorted, frowning as his jaw twitched. "I'll pester you about him when you're no longer sick." To make his point, he brought the final orange to Isaac's mouth. He wasn't quite ready to talk about Julia. He wasn't sure if he ever would be. "Do you want me to quit being your boss so badly?" |
