Oh, so he was awake after all. Isaac looked blearily between Rei and his phone. He'd also hung up on his older brother, which would undoubtedly earn him a few harsh words...which was usually why he stood Rei so well. He had Larsen Langley for practice. "It's not you, it's me." He said, shoving the phone back into his pocket and reached for his coat, which had fallen as well. It'd just occurred to him that he had spent an afternoon doing...

This.

And it wasn't entirely unpleasant, which was mostly why he blinked in surprise when Rei apologized to him. Sure, the guy was weird...but the guy was always weird, he was just more sexually weird at the moment, nothing that warranted an apology.

Isaac ended up smiling at him affectionately and came back to the bed to cup a hand around Rei's face and kissed him. It was nice and slow, and something for him to think about while he was enduring a lecture from his elder brother. He was starting to think that kissing Rei was nice.

Erm..

"Don't worry about it, feel better and I will see you tomorrow. Remember what you promised me about being unproductive." That felt a little domestic...actually. Like they were really together, except Rei hadn't exactly answered him yet.

Isaac turned to go.

It almost sounded like a break up. Except that the next thing Rei received was a hand that revealed his features and the soft lips that fit over his own perfectly, his tired mind reacting as his tilted his head and responded, wondering just what in the world he was doing.

"...I don't have my music with me anyway," he reassured, although it was down stairs. But Rei couldn't do that journey right now, he wasn't even sure he could get out of bed.

How could he so easily allow Isaac not only into his apartment but his bedroom? Sleeping with him, with clothes on thankfully, and kissing as if it was normal. It was certainly nice, but a bit wrong when he thought about how he had yet to give a lack of reply.

So he stopped thinking, sneezing twice before a yawn interupted him and made him stretch across his bed. "Don't forget that you..." Another yawn. "...promised me a massage...so come back eventually..."

He trailed off, eyes closing shut as he lazily curled up in the place Isaac had been, inhaling as he felt the smell remain and the heat keep him just a bit warmer.

Isaac thought that was a lie, and it mostly was. Maybe. But Rei looked tired enough to not attempt getting out of bed. He paused near the door, right...he still owed Pearce a massage...not his fault the guy fell asleep. But right, he was running late, think about that later, deal with Larsen first. Life just didn't let up, did it? First Bradley and his bloody musical, and now Larsen and his OCD. Isaac couldn't help but want to crawl back into bed with Rei and sleep all that off.

"Eventually," probably tomorrow, or never...if Rei got better.

It was 6:26 when he got to the restaurant and he could feel Larsen's glare a mile off. Matthias was placidly eating meat and not saying anything.

For a moment, Isaac wished he hadn't left at all. It was going to be a long, long evening. Or he wished he had enough sense to steal some more aspirin from Rei. He'd kissed Rei while he was sick, maybe Isaac was going to get sick next, although his immune system was better than that.

"So..."

"So Matthias tells me you have a thing for your conductor." Larsen glanced over at him.

Isaac suddenly felt ten, "Well...it's not exactly a thing..."

After Isaac had left and Rei had passed out, the man didn't wake up once. He was oblivious to the bag brought up to his room by Nick himself, who had visited out of worry and guilt, not disturbing the man and only leaving behind some medicine and lemon to make tea with.

And a little note that said 'Sorry, I got jealous. Will Isaac make you happy?' Even if Rei had a feeling that Nick had developed his own answer already, it was a sentiment that made him smile when he woke up. Then it hit him how strange it was for it to be darkening outside.

He could have sworn that he had fallen asleep when it had been darkening. Which made him glance, raising a brow as he stared at the number that revealed that it was six in the evening. Only when the date was checked did he realize that an entire day had passed.

He threw off the sheets immediately, dry swallowing the medicine before putting on the kettle already pre-filled with water (probably thanks to Nick), as well as a pre laid out suit.

So he'd forgive the man just this once for saving his ass. He didn't think about the question, letting out another sneeze, though he noticed it wasn't as powerful as before. Plus he wasn't as sore though he kept his headache. He didn't fix his bed head however after he had walked out with his bag and thermos full of lemon tea.

He had a concert that began at eight to get to and still needed to go over some things with Joshua. He should have called and he shouldn't have skipped.

No need to think about the cuddling and almost sex fiasco.

Isaac was the only member of the Langley family that had yet to settle. Which made sense, since he was the youngest and all. All of his siblings were either married, or engaged and about to be married. He was the only one that turned out bent, and while Larsen did not exactly shun him for it, it did earn him a lecture or two. A very long lecture or two, since Larsen was still intoning flatly about everything bad that could happen if he pursued this interest he had in his conductor. After all, Isaac liked attention, but as Larsen saw it, his kid brother at twenty-six wasn't at all ready for a potentially high profile relationship and on, and on, and on...

Which made Isaac kind of want to tell him that the whole thing was a bet, and once he slept with him, he'd call it off and--

He shook his head, "You really are chipper this evening," in all sarcasm, of course. "Lucky for me, I happen to be exhausted, so good night."

Still, it was a long time before Isaac got to sleep. You didn't just almost have sex with Pearce and forget about it. But that wasn't anything he was ever going to tell anyone. Ever.

Concert day, also the day for the Musical to open at the Apollo Theatre. Why he was thinking about that, Isaac didn't even know. Didn't want to know, either. Call time was an hour before the actual concert, so Larsen drove them over as per usual, but this time Patricia caught the two of them getting out of the car and declared Isaac's older brother 'sexy'. She declared everyone sexy. Isaac convinced his brother to drive off before Larsen could take out the swiss army knife he always carried and start murdering people.

So far so good. It was looking to be a good day.

(Of course, karma sucked that way, but Isaac didn't know yet.) He sat on the couch with his bowtie loose, sipping some water, of course there was some storm about him disappearing off with Pearce yesterday, but he just grinned and shrugged and said he played nurse.

So far, so good.

Most of the orchestra was expecting something similar to yesterday. An approachable Rei who looked like he needed to be cuddled rather than avoided. It turned into a strange combination of his usual and what expected, making many take a step back as he walked.

His hair remained messy, the light strands revealing he came straight from bed. His cheeks remained flushed, though not as bad as before, but his clothing was professional and put together, quite different from the disheveled look he had yesterday. It made him good to look at but from afar, a strong barrier against the outside world seemingly put up as he parted groups of people with simple walks and the raised eyebrow.

As he got to the stage, curtain drawn and hiding them all from the whispering crowds, he heard a familiar cough behind him. Turning around, Rei almost wanted to groan at who he saw.

Joshua. Shit, he'd forgotten about him.

"I'm sorry about yesterday. It wasn't professional," he spoke immediately as he took out the music and noted that additions had been made.

"York called me because he had your music and asked for any changes, which he added in," Joshua spoke as Rei looked over the music and found it all to be completely in order. "He also told me of what happened in the car."

"This isn't the time nor place to talk about that," Rei spoke as he raised a hand and moved to push the hair out of his face.

"It's never the time or place. More importantly, you pushed him away and had Isaac take you home? He didn't come back to rehearsal. What the hell happened?"

With that Rei turned and glared. "This isn't the time or place. End of discussion."

If anything, Isaac was thoroughly amused. Yes, everyone had inhabitions about what had happened yesterday, but Isaac had the uncanny sense not to think about things until he wanted to. This wasn't the time or the place to ponder on what had passed between them. Although Rei looked like he had bed hair again, which Isaac approved. It made him look more or less relaxed, although his posture spoke volumes otherwise.

Maybe everyone thought it was a little strange that Isaac didn't acknowledge Rei and likewise, but then, that was chalked up to the strange dynamic they had...and then the bet.

Speaking of the bet...he'd do well to keep that away from Joshua Bell, who was also in the vincinity. For the most part though, Joshua just ignored him and went to Rei, which was good...Isaac had more time to polish up his lies when it was time to tell them.

So far so good.

And then so far not so good, as a rather disheveled delivery boy with an armful of brightly colored orchids caught everyone's attention as he all but tripped into the dressing room. Patricia was giggling...maybe her boyfriend sent them to her, he was sweet and romantic like that.

Isaac stood up, "May we help you?" The guy shouldn't even have had the access to come back here, he needed to have a talk with security.

"Ah, yes..." The delivery boy fumbled, "This here...um, it's for an Isaac Langley?"

Isaac looked just as surprised as everyone else as he held out his hands for the flowers, "...Uh, that would be me." Who the fucking hell would even send him flowers? Orchids, nonetheless?

"And...here's the note."

The conversation seemed to come to an abrupt halt as the disheveled delivery boy entered the room. It made Rei pause, sending a sharp glare to a security guard who immediately realized his error too late. He could sense the lecture his boss would be getting, which would then be transfered to him but at an amplified manner.

What surprised him even more though, was the recipient of the flowers. Brightly colored orchids of all things?

The sender could have at least gone for the classic roses.

But he continued to hide when he felt until a very perceptive Joshua raised his brows in horror. "You're playing a dangerous game Rei--"

He was interrupted as Rei's stern voice called to the delivery boy sternly. "Flowers and gifts are to be given after. Any other interruptions will not be tolerated as they tend to provide a pointless distraction."

Both the delivery boy and security let out a horrible shiver as they sensed the dark aura pointed in their direction.

"Let this be the first and last time such an error occurs."

Ouch. The delivery boy looked absolutely wounded and mumbled something about a big tip from a certain big actor on Broadway. Sounded promisingly suspicious, but he, like the security guard cowered and tripped over themselves as they ran out of the room. Isaac looked at the orchids in his arms, getting a bad feeling.

Patricia looked at the flowers, and then the note that Isaac held in his other hand. "You have a se-cret admirer." She giggled, "What does the note say?"

Secret admirer, right. Isaac put the flowers down on the table, trying to avoid Rei's eyes and be nonchalant as he unfolded the note.

To my favorite Monsieur Americain: Enjoy the sex flowers, have a nice performance.

Yours, B.

Isaac twitched and stuffed the note in his pocket, "It's a bad prank." He sounded mostly natural as he shrugged. "Does anyone want flowers?" But no matter how nonchalant he seemed, there was probably a lot of explaining to do. Matthias was giving him a look, Pearce was glaring, and Joshua...

He didn't even want to think about Joshua Bell.

(Why the hell did he still remember sex flowers, anyway?}

Rei's firm frowned remain the same, glaring the path the boy took to leave and giving a rather promising stare to the ones guarding the door. Broadway or no broadway, he wouldn't have his rules broken because of a damn crush. More importantly, why was Isaac receiving flowers when he was supposedly interested in him?

While Rei had returned to his spot, it seemed Joshua had not and was determined to find out the answer. So with an innocent smile, he walked over and placed a hand on the mans shoulder.

"You my friend, have multiple things to explain," Joshua spoke rather lightly. "I'd like to hear how your run in went, why you ditched rehearsal and who's sending you flowers." He grinned to himself, chuckling as he leaned in and tilted his head to show that they should talk somewhere else. Where Rei couldn't over here them.

"You've gotten Rei a bit jealous and frazzled after all," he whispered before walking to the exit, where the boy had run off and they could get a minute or two to talk.

It wasn't strange for people to leave the room before rehearsal, for a smoke or something. Which Rei was highly considering doing. In fact, it was a damn good idea. But Joshua and Isaac were there and he didn't want the whole orchestra to know about his little vice so he held it in, biting his lip angrily as he mentally wished the flowers to combust.

They were far too colorful.

Musicians were extremely flighty and most of them were buzzing around Isaac's orchids. Isaac had joked once, that orchids were good for sex, and Bradley had misinterpreted the statement in the worst way and...his head was starting to hurt, but whether Isaac liked it or not, it seemed that Joshua was determined to get answers from him anyway. So after one last look at Rei, Isaac sucked in a deep breath and followed the older violinist to where they could have a word or two in private.

The note burned holes in his pocket.

But Isaac Langley was glib, smooth, and European, he'd get through this...somehow.

"My run with who? Rei at the restaurant?" Obviously the two had been in contact, Isaac would have to be careful. "It was...well, less awkward than I thought it would be, which is a good sign. And...ditching rehearsal because I had explicit permission and I fell asleep." (Leaving out the molestation part on that one.)

And the last one.

"Ah...like I said, someone's pranking me. I've got more than a few friends with their heads not screwed on right, they probably think this is funny." (Bradley would, anyway.) And then he looked mildly curious.

"How do you know if he's jealous?" Good point to know for the future.

Joshua's eyes lit up. He was much better at this game than Isaac could ever hope to be and would easily not reveal that he was playing a rather double agent. "I was referring to how defusing the bomb by talking with Alice but I'd love to hear about this restaurant."

The most interesting piece of the news was just how comfortable Isaac seemed to use Rei's name, a large difference from last time. As if he had been using it often. "You got permission to ditch rehearsal and slept..." Joshua reasoned aloud before the chesire grin and sparkle in his eye returned. "But Rei wouldn't let you skip out just to take a nap unless..." He added verbally.

So the bastard had stayed with Rei. Probably shared the same bed but Rei had no signs of having gone further than just that. The conductor in his fevered state probably found warmth, pulled it close and refused to let go. Hopefully, there was no playful petting but he wasn't about to venture into that many details.

Just the basics was enough for him.

He didn't bother asking about the flowers, seeing as a question was thrown his way. Might as well give the kid some hope, even if he was telling Rei to stay away from him. "Right here," Joshua spoke, lifting up his hand and tapping the side of his jaw.

"The muscle in his jaw jumps. It's easy to spot once you know what you're looking for and a dead give away. That and he tends to want to smoke, though wanting to smoke applies various things."

Fucking--

But Isaac recovered quickly, after all, the restaurant hadn't given anything significant away, really, except cement the fact that the two of them seemed to be on great first name terms. Else, other than that, there was nothing to give away, unless Rei had something on his end that he was keeping to himself.

"Oh, that...how am I supposed to know if you don't specify?" Isaac pretended to think a moment, although he had long mulled out the answer beforehand.

"Well..." it would be good to seem sheepish, because Isaac's decision to really confess should seem like a mistake to Joshua. Isaac stared at his polished shoes and then looked up again, "...About that...I might have, erm, prematurely confessed--he said he'd think about it though." (And that part had to sound hopeful.)

"And the restaurant...it wasn't anything, we just sort of ran into each other there, I was with Matthias." The nap, Isaac's mind wondered and then he shrugged it off again.

"Peopl tend to do funny things when they're ill. I just didn't want anything bad to happen, so I stayed."

But even Isaac didn't like being boxed in a corner, and this almost felt like it, so he glanced pointedly at his watch and then at Rei and his twitching jaw. Well, if anything, this promised an interesting intermission.

"And...musicians onstage in five minutes, so excuse me? Good luck on the Bruch." the concerto would finish the first half.

Joshua was close to using the right words to find out what he wanted and they both knew it. Surprisingly, Isaac was smart to make a leave. Though he merely nodded and smile innocently just as he always did. "Off course. Good luck with Pearce," he spoke before he closed his eyes to think.

First name basis, running into each other, not to mention the unexpected confession...that wouldn't do well at all. Rei was weak and thought highly of confessions, considering them to be so rare and traditional these days. He'd think about it. He didn't say no, which bothered him. But he very easily let it slip that he stayed, though Joshua doubted it was to make sure 'nothing bad happened'.

He probably didn't want to leave.

Walking toward Rei, he leaned over and glanced at the mans jaw. It was fine for now. "I just talked to Langley," he spoke, holding back a grin as he saw the muscle jump. Jealousy at its finest.

What was most interesting about his conversation was that the smoking bit wasn't even touched. The little information that would let Isaac know that Rei was his was best left under lock and key. Not even if he was asked. Best say random facts.

"You'll do fine. I saw your family in the front row when I came in. Doll faced as usual, with most of the crowd whispering and wondering if they're celebrities," the dark haired man teased.

"Charming," Rei snapped before sighing. "I have a job to do."

He walked to his spot, waiting as he heard the mild sounds of tuning. "...Relax and keep your eyes on me. I'll give you everything you need to know if you just watch," he spoke, the simple message strangely receiving many nods of approval. He only frowned and wished his jaw to stop being so damn tight.

Interesting that Joshua didn't bother to mention that Isaac sounded effective. He was halfway expecting that to do him in.

Well, why the hell not? Of course Isaac always stay one step in front of Joshua Bell; this was the way things were going to be from now on. He walked out onto the stage and gestured at the oboist to start tuning up. Bradley posed a bit of a threat by just being in New York City, but because of the twitching muscle, Isaac was almost grateful for him to sending sex flowers--erm, orchids. Of course Bradley wasn't even going to hear that he received them...except maybe from the delivery boy.

Nevertheless, he was the one that was going to come out on top--on all counts? Well.

They packed a full house tonight it seemed, most of the people at Rei's table were settled in the first row, he recognized Alice and Sam...a few rows back sat Larsen Langley with his arms crossed, his brother looked like he was on the verge of critiquing a difficult heart surgery, no expression on his face whatsoever.

Typical Larsen. He honestly hoped that Larsen and Rei never had a conversation about him. Ever.

When the orchestra finished tuning, Isaac sat back down, in a few minutes, Rei would be making his grand entrance.

Matthias stared hard the first notes of the Carnival without opening his mouth, "You're up to something. They're from him, aren't they?"

Isaac shrugged, "No idea whatsoever what you're talking about." (Actually, he wasn't up to anything, but...maybe he'd come up with something.) But for now...concert.
