((You're killing me. Slowly but surely, you are killing me)) As Alice held his hand tightly, she let out the smallest of yawns, trying to make it invisible to her uncles eyes. It was a habit that failed to work every time. "It's time to be heading home," Rei spoke, ignoring the pout he received from his niece as she comforted herself with her ice cream. She had known her uncle well enough that arguing was pointless when it came to certain things. On the other hand, she did realize that there was a hidden wild card character in her presence that she could use. "But what about--" "Don't even think of using Isaac to convince me," Rei interrupted without hesitation as the pair slowly walked toward the taller man. "He's very busy you know," he continued, sending a glance to Isaac to just play along with his words. "Besides its getting late. Your mothers going to be jealous that I'm spending so much time with you." Alice didn't argue at the last bit, nodding softly as she remembered her mother. "Lets have ice cream again sometime mister Isaac!" |

[[ You're killing me with Julia and all that backstory...mwhaha, so we're even? XD ]] Well, it was obvious that Alice wanted to stay longer, but Isaac chalked it up to more good signs. It was also obvious that she adored her uncle and Isaac was just slightly jealous, maybe. But he caught on to that warning look the man shot him and nodded. "Yeah...I do have to get back to Matthias and make sure that Aunt Lil doesn't kill him or anything. I'd like to have a stand partner for tomorrow." But he smiled down at Alice's eager face, "Sure...we can have cheesecake too, I like cheesecake. And tell you what...I"ll walk back with you to where your uncle's parked and we'll walk sort of slow, okay?" He wasn't sure if that lost him any points, but he didn't know if Alice was the type of person to throw tantrums. He knew his nephews were, though, so Isaac was usually quick to offer a compromise if he didn't want anything broken. The sky was dark outside, and there were obviously less people, as Isaac polished off the last of his cone. "...Where are you parked, anyway?" |

((It's not that bad...he's not a murderer. He just thinks he is. Besides I've been dropping tons of clues!)) Rei sighed as everything went along though he wondered just how their separation would be. More importantly he was worrying about tomorrow. This day had brought along more changes than he was expecting and bringing back more memories of his past than he'd like to think of. Especially when it came down to how he acted around people. "Deal," Alice cheered before she remembered the third member of their group and looked up nervously. "Walking back sounds fine," Rei spoke, his ice cream now finished as they began their walk, the conductor silently leading the pair. At the question he quirked up an eyebrow. "I don't drive. We take the subway," he corrected, glancing at the streets that were beginning to get lined with traffic. "It seems almost pointless to drive when you live in the city. No offense." |

[[ Isaac is boggled, not thinking clearly. Must be the ice cream XD ]] "Well, each to their own, I guess." Isaac said fairly, "I can't exactly live without a car, I guess it's sort of my thing. Besides, I have one, so might as well drive it. None taken." Well, that was fine, the subway wasn't all that far away from where Isaac was parked. And he was lying about Aunt Lily so he was in no hurry. "And I'm not parked that far away from the station, so I'd like the exercise before I lock myself away in my practice room again." Today, for Isaac, at least, one of the more interesting days of his life, and even if he wasn't really romantically interested in Pearce as he was pretending to be, there was no denying that the man was still an enigma to him. Or. It was brilliant, why didn't Isaac think of it before? "Why can't I just drive the two of your home? Or...wherever you're going? Saves you a trip." And he was pretty positive that Pearce and Alice lived on the nice side of New York so he didn't have to worry about anything happening to his car. Besides, it'd get him more time alone with Pearce and all. |

"That makes sense. I don't own one and never have, so I never bothered to learn." It was the strange minor details that they were learning about each other that made the butterflies in his stomach go off, even as he showed his calm smile. Driving. Thoughts. Food preferences. Details that seemed so common sounded so intimate in his mind. He almost preferred talking about Julia. Almost. Yet he was almost done. Rei had that satisfaction at least, of knowing that he could leave soon and return to his thoughts and a well needed drink. Perhaps even a meeting...then again, maybe not. He felt that this should be made private for some reason. It was the first time he thought of that in a very long time. "Would you like that?" Rei asked Alice, knowing that the girl did enjoy her subway rides. She seemed excited though, smiling widely as she nodded. "That's a huge favor Isaac. Are you not in a rush?" It hit him mildly that perhaps he should say no. After dropping off Alice he would have no where to go but home. Which meant Isaac would know where he lived. Another intimate detail. He'd have to think on his feet and debate whether it'd be a good idea or not. |

Well, as some wise man once said, God was in the details, and the fact that they were both giving away pieces of themselves to each other using the most useless little details, maybe that was why it made things more intimate than his conductor liked. Isaac, on the other hand, didn't make many parts of his life private. But the parts that he did, he guarded with vigor. Pearce seemed to guard everything. Even the small details, like how he didn't speak French and didn't drive and ate strawberry ice cream. He shrugged, "Ah...I might have to administer some TLC to Matthias when I get back, but...like I said, his aunt, not mine, she drives me nuts, and if I'm lucky, she'll be gone by the time I get back. So in a way, you guys are my excuse." Not that he really was going to give away what exactly he was doing to both parties. The one that knew the most right now was Joshua Bell, minus the betting part. Isaac would keep it that way. "So not really...I mean, that's only if you want to." Well, it was nice to know that Alice wanted to, Isaac mentally gave her full permission to persuade her uncle in whatever way she chose. |

The big eyes that stared up at Rei in something that was pure hope and teetering on the puppy dog eyes already decided exactly how he would be going home. So Rei let his shoulder slump, ruffling the girls light hair as she grinned and knew she had won the silent battle. "Thanks Isaac," Rei spoke, eyeing how his niece seemed to deflate as she misunderstood his words as polite declining. "It'll save us a lot of time." There it was, the humble hidden acceptance that made Alice glow as she, with her finished ice cream covered smile, reached upward to hold both hands as they slowly walked to the car. It was going along perfectly until Rei caught the slightest comment of a pair passing by him. "...Strange family. To think they'd be so open about it..." It made him blink, his head turning as he noticed that the pair had blended in and couldn't be identified. Would it matter if they were? It made him bite his lip, bringing him to think back to the relationship he was considering. Since when was Isaac interested in men? Rei swore he was a breast man...at least that's what all the low cut tops some girls in the phil wore showed. |

Isaac was going to buy Alice something grand for Christmas. He too, smiled at her, and readily curled his fingers around her small hand and changed directions for Central Park instead of the subway station. "Seriously, it's not a big deal. Come on then, this way" Well, it was, but Pearce didn't need to know that. Until a couple had passed by and-- "...Strange family. To think they'd be so open about it..." Isaac's first instinct to that...was to laugh, except he glanced over to Pearce and decided to hold it in for now, Matthias deserved at least a piece of the story. Well...Isaac had always sort of swung both ways, but in public, he knew it was better to swing one way or the other. And besides, everyone in the music world had to be a bit bisexual. At least, he thought that. Pearce though, ever since Joshua Bell had mentioned the 'female friends', the thought was never that far away from Isaac's mind. Although he didn't know how to go about thinking about it, so... Soon enough, they reached his car, it was a nice car, but not overly flashy or anything. He unlocked the door and opened the back for Alice first and then the passenger door for Pearce before going around to the driver's side. "And traffic really doesn't look too bad today. Most days it's worse. Where to?" |

Rei never cared for gender personally, as he strictly believed in the philosophy of beauty, whether it be internal or external. It was a horrible weakness of his, as York had constantly teased him that if a man or woman were beautiful enough and wicked on the inside they could possibly bend the conductors will in any way they desired. Which wasn't likely. In fact, it was idiotic. Their argument ended when a rather well endowed model had brushed his neck and sent a weak, creating a reaction that had him teased for weeks, drinking more than he could handle and going in for work with a horrible hang over that had him scolding and being far more snappier than usual. So he had a weak spot for beauty. He'd dated average and plain faces that had hearts of gold, and he had his share of a few beautiful assholes. That didn't mean anything. So Rei slipped into the car, waiting as he watched Alice put on her seat belt as she grinned when she saw the nod of approval from her uncle. "The Apollo theatre. Alice has a date with mommy tonight." Which revealed he wasn't going. That brought upon the question of what to do after Alice was dropped off. When it was just...them. Perhaps taking the subway would have been a smarter idea. |

"A date with Mommy? That sounds exciting." Isaac touched a hand to the rearview mirror before he turned on the ignition and pulled out of the spot and into the road. But it really was exciting to Isaac in other ways. After all, after Alice got off the car...it would just be him and Pearce, just the way Isaac wanted it. And even if Joshua Bell was right about Pearce hating having the back of his neck rubbed, Isaac knew better. He just had trouble admitting it, that was all. And of all people, Isaac should know he was good with his fingers. Wasn't a violinist for nothing. Actually, Isaac had a weakness for...anything, really. He wasn't all that picky, as long as his partner knew how to have a good time, and didn't take things too seriously. Which was probably his one fallback with Pearce, but Isaac was good...he could work through it. Throughout his life, he'd dated an impressive array of people, most of whom were too good for him. He hadn't been lying about that part. When the Apollo theatre loomed into sight, Isaac stopped the car next to the curb, "You want to walk her? I'll wait right here." To Alice, he grinned, "It was a pleasure to meet you today, Alice. Next time we'll do ice cream and cheesecake." |

For some reason, Rei had a distinct feeling that the last thing he wanted was to be alone with Isaac at the moment. Walking in a park was one thing. Being in the secluded space with lockable doors? That was an entirely different environment. The car pulled up and Rei just nodded, undoing his seat belt before stepping out and opening the door to his niece. He pushed back the car ride he wasn't really looking forward too as he saw his sister, a small smile as they shared the identical poker face that only seemed to crack under the presence of Alice as she walked forward and waved to the girl. "Thanks mister! It's a promise," she spoke, nodding firmly as she held out her pinky and waited for the holy pink oath to be sworn. Once it was, she hopped out and into her mothers arms, planting a wet kiss on her cheek as the woman laughed. "Thanks again Rei. I'll see you on Wednesday for dinner?" She asked, raising a delicate brow that showed just how similar they really were. "Off course," he spoke, planting a small kiss on his nieces forehead. "Be good and have fun." He spoke, not surprised as he received a kiss and hug from the small girl as she waved good bye enthusiastically until she was pulled off, Rei looking back at the car, taking in a deep breath and getting back in. Now it was just them. Great. "I can just take the subway if it's a bother you know," he offered, even though he had taken off his scarf considering that the car was plenty warm. |

"Promise." He hooked his pinky through hers for a moment and smiled. He owed her that much, at least. Oh, come on. What did Rei think that Isaac was going to do? Jump him like a horny teenager? Well, the thought had crossed his mind, but obviously, the thought was brandished as a bad idea and therefore disregarded. Rei's sister looked like him, the same emotionless face, maybe it ran in the family, as sarcasm and cynicism seemed to be plenty on his. Isaac tapped his steering wheel thoughtfully as Pearce got back in the car, obviously, he seemed to be in a hurry to leave. "What's with you?" He asked finally, "Just because I confessed doesn't mean I have the license to jump you in a small enclosed space. I'm not that tasteless." Although the thought had crossed his mind. Just because it was there didn't mean he had to act on it. Isaac wasn't that juvenile. "I said I'd take you home, and I will. And believe it or not, I can do it without jumping you." Or maybe Pearce was still scared of him because Isaac made him feel things, or maybe that was too narcissistic to start with. Besides, Isaac wasn't even -that- horny most times. "...Where do you live?" |

Rei preferred to let Isaac think that then what went through his mind as he buckled his seat belt. It didn't help that he glanced at the fingers. There was no way in hell he was sharing what went through his mind. If anyone was going to be calling anyone perverted, Rei would damn make sure the blame wouldn't be placed on him. Even if he had to lie just a little bit. Or he could change the topic entirely and not thinking back being jumped on and the two times the calloused fingers had felt the nerves on his neck. He wasn't going to--'fuck'. "77 Parc West," Rei let out doing his best to not look at the fingers and let his mind wander. "...I know you're not," he spoke, though it didn't help that he was thinking back to the idea of being jumped at. "I'm just feeling that this is a bit away from your usual route and you'll get in trouble from Matthias for leaving him alone for so long with this Aunt and have to face the consequences." Which was a reasonable worry. Now he had to shoo away the dirty thoughts, which he blamed the ice cream for, before anything worrying happened. His tongue traced at his lip, vaguely recalling the hand that was there earlier before he froze and let silence appear again. This wasn't a good idea at all. Rei wasn't sociable and couldn't handle small enclosed spaces. Another weakness few knew about. |

"Good...at least you trust me a little." It was a start, anyway. If Isaac knew his conductor was thinking similarly dirty thoughts, well...all the more power to him? Besides, he needed to score at least once, to immortalize tonight, to make sure that Pearce would never just pass it off, he'd want more, he'd come back to Isaac for more, and then, finally after all the groveling that he had to endure, it was finally Isaac with the upper hand. He almost wanted to smirk. He knew how he could do it to. And just how he'd do it. His conductor didn't stand a chance. "Well...Parc West isn't that far, it's a little bit out of the way and Matthias won't kill me, he'll most likely be a little traumatized, that's all. His made of stronger stuff than you give him credit for, although Aunt Lily is a bit of a handful." Silence. Perhaps it was better to let it hang for now, he reached for the radio and turned, until it was to the classical music station and let Mendelssohn's Reformation Symphony fill the silence for them instead. Maybe it was safer that way. |

"I don't just let someone I trust a little take me out to lunch, drinks and share ice cream with my niece, confession aside," Rei pointed out before he realized that perhaps it was best to stay silent. He wasn't even sure what he thought of Isaac anymore. Sure he wasn't a complete and utter annoyance who he wanted to fire but he was still...confusing and difficult to understand. They were so different that Rei couldn't ever imagine them together unless it be for ulterior motives. But he had yet to discover any. If they were there, they were hidden well and only letting him focus on what Isaac wanted him to focus. So he couldn't do anything but drift into the music, letting the melody drift in his mind as he finally put those fingers out of his mind. Specifically, what those fingers could do to him. He was always weak to beauty, his greatest weakness that travelled to more than the physical. It was strange to have such a lovely piece playing in such a closed space, with Isaac of all people driving him home. It was strange indeed. |
