I have to say, this is really disappointing.

Today the Oxford University Press announced the addition of LOL, OMG, and ♥ (yeah, the symbol) to the newest edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.

The new entries join previous infiltrators IMHO, TMI, and BFF in the hallowed pages of the grammar bible. These initialisms now get to rub shoulders against fancypants words like accoutrements, magnanimous, and pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (yes, that's actually a word), which is sure to piss off a segment of educators who wear patches on their elbows and love to discuss Hegelian dialectical principles over snifters of Glenfiddich. You can read more about the new additions on the official OED website.

And people say forum posters and web commenters can't invoke change...
