I make threads while I'm not here. Aren't I awesome?

I'm also starting the major project for the course this semester, I'll post up something of a description when I have a little more time.
Yeah sorry about that lol, I thought you wouldn't mind but we were taking of the kz3 thread.
Heh, I liked the KZ3 thread better on the new tangent... It involved me!

@Blacky, that's a problem for future Chad.

@Todd, I fail at coding...

I have difficulty at the learning stage. I have tried many times, but ultimately failed.

Heck, I struggle with simple scripting...

I drink coffee and piss code. Seriously. Too bad no one wants to employ me for my magical urine abilities.

If you're interested in programming games specifically, find someone with badass artistic abilities and develop indie games in your spare time.

Easier said than done I know, but I figure the best way to get a job where your talents won't go to waste is to just get stuff out there.

Yeah you can spend like $1000 and get a Unity license and just make iOS games or something, then move into console games.

there are thousands of indie developers out there, only a hand full make money greater than a mcdonalds employee could earn in the same amount of time....

I see a lot of people get excited when they see the millions minecraft rake in without even being released and how thousands of noobs jumped on fruit ninja despite the script behind it being about 2 days work if that... but don't forget about reality, if you miss the audience you are aiming for then you are just wasting time better spent elsewhere.

Not trying to discourage, if you have a golden idea and know how to pull it off, go for it, just be prepared for a flop.

What I was getting at was to build up a portfolio of games so that if you were to progress into a professional developer, you'd have something to show off.

I did a games course, problem was they gave a bunch of gamers fairly decent computers with UT2004 on them...

I passed but only cause it turns out I'm pretty good at 3d modeling, alright at coding and can improv speeches.

My current goal is to make crappy apps and sell em to fund my ultimate goal.

Not the most amazing quality of videos. Nonetheless, I present to you Stick Ninja.

Yes it looks like a clone of N at the moment, this is only a prototype and isn't feature complete as of yet. We still have another semester of development, so by then we should have a complete and shippable game. So far it's pretty fun to play.

What do you think?

Does anyone want me to go into more detail about the game?

P.S. Excuse the Naruto music...

Will admit, that looks like it would be pretty fun to play on the PC or on an iPhone or something. As long as later levels continued to provide challenge and good level design, think you got a winner on your hands XD

Awesome, thanks man. As it stands we can potentially port it to the 360 or Windows Phone as it's built on the XNA Framework.

We intend for there to be a metric fuck-ton of levels and a bunch more enemies by completion. So hopefully we'll have something worth having by then.
