Let Me In is a total shot for shot redo of the Swedish version.
I prefer the Swedish version, as much as I think Chloe Moretz has a bright future, the Swedish girl was a much better vampire.

I hated that chloe moretz was playing eli.... oh wait, abby, she does not fit the role at all. Save yourself the time and watch the original or read the book. That being said, i'll be going to see it. I hate the fact that the americans have toned it down, the material that the film and book dealt with are what made it special and unique and the ameri-trailers just look like run-of-the-mill vampire fare with a dash of twilight romance. Obviously the boy in the american version is in for a big surprise.

That's that metallica doco isn't it? not a bad insight into the band. Too bad the album they were doing while filming was st. anger.

Indeed, after watching it I had a listen through all of St Anger for the first time since about 2005. It isn't Metallica's best work, but I really have heard some worse albums in my days. There are a few redeeming parts in some of the songs and I think it was judged so harshly is because it wasn't the Metallica we all know and love, but more like them trying to do something different and not just follow their usual trend.

After yesterday's listen of the album, I'm certainly not going to judge it so harshly in the future.

That said, Metallica definitely can and did do better with Death Magnetic.

Same here, downloaded the cam version as soon as it thepiratebay. Easily one of the most clever written movies in years that I've seen. Justin Timberlake was also cast well, he didn't need to put on a douchebag persona, he's already got one.
Bar some of the misconceptions the film made it's mostly true, soundtrack fit in well as well. Applause for Mr. Reznor.

I didn't think the American version was toned down at all. The only thing that felt American was the cgi vampire attack that I felt was totally unneccesary and something that Chloe or a stunt double could have done. I'm not sure why they needed to change her name either.

Still the book is the best medium followed by the swedish version. But the American version did at least TRY for 30 seconds to add a bit more to the female victims side story. I loved that bit int he book with the lady slowly coming to terms with her new hunger.

@Slashv2 The music during the first meeting with Timberlake's character was fucking orgasmic

@doc I meant content-wise, not gore wise. They toned down (aka removed) a lot of the more seedy character elements. I would have liked to have seen the americans pull more from the book. I wanted Tommy in the movie :(

The Social Network: I liked it but I don't think it deserves the overwhelming praise it's getting.

Red on the other hand is a must watch movie. For the past decade I've been wondering why anybody still hires John Malkovich but I loved him in this as a psycho.

Jackass 3D: I have not laughed so hard in a movie for years.
I don't know why it's so funny though.

haha yeah saw it tonight, was fantastic, just a pure fun movie and just like the other ones, i was dry reaching at one point.

However, i must say the best bit was the 3D tron legacy trailer before the feature film, that movie is gonna be so fukin sweet.
