Microsoft is expected to pull out all of the virtual stops with regards to Project Natal during E3 2010 in a few weeks, and one of the big reveals that’s looking more and more likely is a name change.

Citing an inside source, NowGamer reports that the actual name for Natal is Wave, and Microsoft will make the official reveal during E3.

Microsoft has remained expectedly mum on this rumor, and it’s likely this will continue to be the case until their big pre-E3 Project Natal Experience on June 13.

Project Natal always seemed like a placeholder name, but after almost a year’s worth of promotion, during which time the motion-control system’s title has entered into the popular consciousness, it’s going to interesting to see how long it will take for people to adopt the new name, should it be something drastically different than Natal.

I’m waiting to hear back from Microsoft about the rumor, but I have a feeling I already know what they’re going to say. I’ll let you know if I’m wrong. In the meantime, the chance of this rumor being true: 72.81 percent.

I hope it is a rumour because natal sounds a hell of a lot better than wave.

Stupid channel 9 were talking to the aussie rep for M$ and he said it will not be called Natal, that was just the M$ inhouse name for the project.

Lol if it is indeed a 4 letter word that even sounds like Sony's Move, thats an epic failure, needs to distinguish itself

Really not sure about either of them, at one point I was leaning towards Move being the better of the two, now i'm pretty sure both are rubbish.

Natal: A lot of potential here, sadly it'll be wasted on gimmicks and party games. Laggy and unresponsive also, at least thats the word on the street

Move: Waggle HD. Once you get past how pretty the games look its pretty obvious its just a wii-mote with an eyetoy thrown in. The promise of no shitty Wii ports got dropped pretty quick with LOTR: Aragorn's quest being announced.

Wii: The original shitbox.

Stead hit the nail on the head regarding Natal in Game Informer, let it augment the experience, not become it.

The only reason I got rid of my Wii was because I got sick if waving my arms around. Gimme a controller anyday.

The lack of good games and the ridicule from everyone above the age of 12 from all males wasnt enough?

Sorry I had to.

The Wii had some good games, Unfortuately the number of shitty waggleware far outnumbered the really good games.

I don't think the Natal or Move is going to be any different. I Already foresee a shitty a EyeToy clone after the Move's release, and Natal won't be much different.
