Thinking, great I don't have to go far to ride my bmx. Think again. The parks main use is for skaters. Bmx users and I quote the email I received from council, "It is not intended to be a BMX facility albeit that there may be some cross-over in usage." So what's it's intention then? There already is a skateboard park. Surely there can't be that many skaters in the area that we need 2 parks dedicated solely to Skate boards? There are 4 bike shops in the wyndham area, there are no skate shops, which suggests what? Perhaps a leaf out of the hobson's bay council who have placed Bmx jumps next to the bmx track on Queens street would be in order. That way you've got a park, a jump park which caters to both mountain bikes and bmx. You've got a precinct where everyone is able to enjoy it and can be used for competitions during Weerama. Get in contact with Ken Chalmers via email; Ken.Chalmers@wyndham.vic.gov.au at the Wyndham council and let him know you'd like to see a skatepark become a multipurpose use park with an area for dirt jumps for bmx/mountain bikes, etc. What are your thoughts?

Newbie Posts: 2 Group: Members Member #24 Joined: January 22, 2008	i agree.what about an indoor bmx park with dirt and concrete just for bmx riders because the skaters have 2 parks why can't the bmx riders have one huge indoor one prob make up 2 parks in it any way . i know my reply is late but yeah just signed up lozzie
