Newborn babes (verse 2) it mentions in the Bible (King James, 1 Corinithians 15:31) that we die daily or rather should die daily in our walks with the Trinity in regards to confessing our sinful ways; this is stricking to me because this revelation has never occurred to me in regarding the significance of not only confessing daily our sins but by doing so we are reborn each day hence why God looks at us as newborn babes amazing, simply amazing to me Living stones (verse 5) my name means/translation "strength and honor" and stones are strong so I guess another translation of my name is "stone and honor", lol; being as God views us as "living stones" then some other affiliations to being stones/rock could be: contradictions of mere existence, I mean seriously "living stone", from a mortal stand point rocks are inanimate lifeless objects and God looks at us as living rock?; so, since we are beings of contradiction then maybe that is why and how God can be so patient w/us; there is a saying, "stubborn as a rock" well it is known that most clichιs are scripture oriented so maybe that one is too in regards to us being viewed as "living stones (stubbornness)" in regards to another explanation to why God is so patient w/our will's to not change from our sinful ways -- again, an amazing revelation to me A chosen generation (verse 9) I remember hearing, several times, in church, that most of the Bible (I think the percentage is around 70-80%) is written to the Jews; I am glad I heard this after I was saved because I do not think I would have been wanting to follow Jesus if I would have heard this before I was saved because I would not have made the connection of Jews being God's chosen people and hence God's word predominately being directed to His chosen people the Jews; even though most of the Bible is written to and about the Jews it does not exempt Gentiles from learning from the scriptures for, to and about the Jews; I write to you about this because sometimes I have a difficult time reading God's word when I am reading scripture and always see references to the Jews and feel like I am a lowly nothing Gentile, I know this is a mortal thought and I also know another revelation about "a chosen generation" is to be revealed to me at a later date but this is what I sometimes feel when reading God's word Strangers and pilgrims (verse 11) boy howdy, if ever this sums up how I feel like I am viewed by God then God and I are on a very similar wavelength of thought/perception; our duty to God is to spread his word even though we do not know nor will we ever understand ourselves entirely (I tried googling the scripture referencing this but couldn't find it but I know this is mentioned some where in the Bible and I have heard it preached in sermons several times) in which if we can never entirely understand ourselves then we should be able to easily accept that we can not even fathom the understanding of who and what God is in regards to any such understanding of God equating to the size of a mustard seed; hence, since understanding is not complete and never will be of not only ourselves and on a much, much larger scale of God then we walk with God as strangers to ourselves and to God, this is where an aspect of "faith" comes into play; troubling as it is in our own unknown walks where we are constantly trying to learn of ourselves and of God, it is God's calling that we simultaneously be pilgrims of spreading his word while learning of ourselves and Him, this is my biggest downfall in my walk and where I have to refer back to me being a "stone" in God's eyes is that God is being patient with me and that He has good things planned for me (Jeremiah 29) even though my walk is lacking in serving him and has sin; in summary, walking unknown to ourselves and seeking God we are to tell others of God in our blind walks Servants of God (verse 16) I think I covered this in the above bullet Sheep astrayed (verse 25) this verse too is somewhat discussed in the strangers verse in above bullet; would like to further elaborate on being lost/astrayed and that God knows and sees us as His struggling children and we need His guidance (shepard/stewardness) to guide us daily; I think of a sheep (from the way the Bible talks about them and Jesus) as being innocent, to this it amazes me that God can view us a lost sheep because there is nothing, as far as I know and per my comments about us not knowing ourselves entirely, innocent about me at all; this is where God (agape love (1 John 4:8 is one of a few references to agape love)) loves us so dearly though we are astrayed sheep This next and concluding segment is about trees in the Bible. I have always had a sense of fascination (unknown and passive) about trees. I like them because they are strong yet weak -- if you hit them w/your fist they won't get hurt but are damaged easily in so many other ways; beautiful but ugly -- when they have their green leaves and flowers they are a marvel to look at yet when they are naked and exposed without their leaves they don't appear so beautiful; needed and abused -- we use them daily and need their resourcefulness for many aspects of our lives right down to our currency and a means to bare His words yet one of their kind bore our Savior (the tree is mentioned in 1 Peter 2:24) -- the beauty and imperfections of trees, another aspect of how similar all God's creations are alike. |
