‘It Was God’: Detroit Mother Saves Daughter From Terrifying Sinkhole Right Outside the Child’s School Jan. 28, 2014 8:00pm A Detroit mother is thanking God that she happened to be at her daughter’s school the day the young girl fell into a massive sinkhole. “It was God, that’s all I can say. It was God,” Monica Lindsey told WJBK-TV. “I wasn’t supposed to be there.” Lindsey, a bus driver, described waving at her eight-year-old daughter as the girl arrived at J.R. King Elementary School on Detroit’s west side. But as her daughter waved back, Lindsey said, “she fell in the hole!” ![]() Lindsey said the child was up to her neck in freezing water and shouting, “Momma, help!” “It just swallowed her!” Lindsey recalled with emotion. After she nearly “lost [her] heart” pulling her daughter out of the sinkhole, she added, “another little boy fell right in!” She pulled him out, too. Lindsey, still shaken by how differently the situation could have ended had she not been there, said the school administrators said they must not have seen the “new” hole with all the snow. “There’s, like, three sinkholes by the school!” Lindsey remarked with shock, adding that there are “waterline breaks everywhere.” ![]() In light of the most recent event, the city has dispatched a team to fix the sinkholes, but it is certainly not a day Lindsey will soon forget. “I was angry. I had sweat, tears, and all I could think about was my daughter drowning in this hole right in front of my eyes!” she said. This charitable act serves as an advertisement for the services of "The Sinkhole Guy" and his sinkhole repair business. I reckon it's a good trade for both parties. "The Sinkhole Guy" helps Holiday homeowner ![]() 7:11 PM, Jan 28, 2014 Holiday, Florida -- Some much needed help has come for a senior whose driveway was swallowed by a 20-foot-wide hole. The hole opened up over the weekend just east of where U.S. 19 and Alternate 19 come together. The homeowner, Carol Bowers, doesn't have insurance, and since the hole is on one piece of property, it's the owner's problem. This would mean Bowers would have to pay to survey the hole, find out what caused it, and then stabilize and fill it, but luckily, "The Sinkhole Guy" has stepped in to help. Taylor Yarkosky and Advanced Pier Technology aren't just lending expertise, but Bowers' bill for a new driveway will be taken care of. She'll also be given a rental car to drive as repairs are underway, since her car is effectively stuck in her garage. http://www.wtsp.com/news/local/article/354577/8/The-Sinkhole-Guy-helps-Holiday-homeowner |

This story touches me a great deal. I followed this story since it emerged that April was missing. I've seen a lot of speculation as to why some cases get the wide sensational coverage they do, while countless others go completely unreported. Those who speculate wonder how the news and tabloids get a fix on certain cases that keep the public spellbound, at least that's what I get from the comments I've read and these same folks are highly suspicious of the way some are selected and presented to the public whereas others do not get any exposure. It does make me curious, it's a bit of a conundrum. I'm behind the Jone's 100% in their quest to filter porn out from the web. If it were up to me I'd filter porn out from any form of media (eg magazines). Parents of April Jones dispose of her pink bike ![]()
