I was watching the Sydney to Hobart yacht race from the back verandah & took these photos of a large cloud that sat stationery for at least a couple of hours whilst the other fluffy clouds floated past. Thought it was worth sharing; |

I once saw two different layers of clouds at different altitudes. The sky was partly cloudy, and you could see sky between the clouds and the layers. One of the cloud layers consisted of the lenticular type of clouds, and the other layer looked like regular, grayish rain clouds. I wish I'd had a camera with me. I've never seen anything like it before or since. Edited by Petunia, Dec 29 2011, 03:45 PM.

That looks like a lovely area, Allegiance. Hmm. Normally I can upload 10 images but I'm not able to upload more than 2. Maybe it's their file size even though I've reduced it a bit. I'll investigate.![]() ![]() Okay, I'm able to upload more now after going in to edit... ![]() This one looks like a single layer has formed at the top. I now see more layers underneath. ![]() Fascinating images Allegiance, thanks for sharing these. Edited by yass, Dec 29 2011, 06:11 PM.
