I would like to understand the symbology & relevence of The Golden Boy, I think these events are somehow all related to the meaning considering the significance of Gold through out hidden history; The Queens Golden Jubilee The Golden Boy was returned to the ManitobaManitoba Manitoba is a Canadian prairie province. http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/Golden_Boy_(Manitoba) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Jubilee_of_Elizabeth_II Pope Leo X had more exotic tastes. Famed for his extravagant lifestyle, he was entertained by young boys leaping naked from cakes. When the new Pope entered Florence in triumph, he had a young boy painted gold, from head to toe, who paraded through the streets. It was pure propaganda, implying the return of a golden age under the rule of the Medici. The boy died shortly afterwards, poisoned by the gold paint on his skin but the papal celebrations went on for days. Leonardo Da Vinci & the Medicis were present. http://www.pbs.org/empires/medici/medici/dolls.html Gold Finger had a double who died after being painted with gold, why have a double? This has been put on the Urban Myths section, quote; In some versions of the story it wasn’t Shirley Eaton who died, but a body double, and that the body seen dipped in gold paint lying on James Bond’s bed in the movie was in reality the body double, already dead http://www.timelessmyths.co.uk/gold-finger-actresses-death-from-paint.html Edited by allegiance to truth, Dec 4 2011, 07:23 PM.

This was a coment I found interesting when searching, on the movie Thief, I've never watched or heard of it; The Golden Boy in Thief - After seeing the show I thought maybe he was the ghost of Pope Leo's golden boy, forever wandering the mansions of the wealthy and powerful, an innocent soul trapped by his masters in the twilight between life and death. |

![]() That interesting allegiance. I did a little searching trying to understand why gold paint might kill a person and first landed a snopes page discussing Goldfinger. There was something about skin needing to breath and it was thought that the paint would clog the pores keeping the skin from being able to breath. There was something about that it was believed a patch of skin should be left unpainted to allow some skin to be able to breath. They said the actress in Goldfinger had a patch on her abdomen left unpainted. After taking that in and then looking at her movie scene picture I saw her head didn't seem to be painted and I thought 'Well, there's her whole head not painted' That would seem to be a big patch through which the skin could breath. It said the first movie to have done that was a 1946 movie called Bedlam. I did a little checking around on that too, and found:
Movie clip from Bedlam. Scene with the Gilded Boy. http://www.tcm.com/mediaroom/video/189705/Bedlam-Movie-Clip-Fete.html I think your right, that there's something to it. Golden boy or girl and death/sacrifice of that golden boy or girl... ritual played out, either literally without our knowledge (in the event it might have been a double who died) or figuratively. The Gilded Boy from Bedlam (reptile boy by looks of it) ![]()

I can believe that the pope's golden boy died from the paint, as it may have contained impurities such as mercury and lead. I have some vague memories of the Goldfinger urban legend from when I was a small child. I remember being perplexed about the rumor, being quite young at the time and not knowing a lot about human biology. I do remember people saying quite adamantly that skin has to be able to breathe. Heck, maybe skin does need to breathe, who knows what with all the garbage we're told about what we need to be healthy. Edited by Petunia, Dec 5 2011, 12:38 AM.
