I did a search to see what the Native word is for Shapeshifter, and the result is, primarily, Skinwalker.
Here's an interesting story about an experience a Native American had as a teenager while on a visit to grandma's on the rez... Navajo Rez: Skinwalker http://www.yourghoststories.com/real-ghost-story.php?story=5918 The descriptions for skinwalkers parallel that of the descriptions of jinn, or djinn. Soon, hopefully, I'll post what I've found written about the djinn for comparison. Witchcraft and practitioners of 'Witchery Way' are mentioned in this writing, which put me in mind of seiğr magic, and seiğr practitioners (as mentioned in An interesting picture from Norway). I think there's some point in which the human who practices the magic mingles with the reptilian. After time I think we'll find those connections.
It's funny that earlier tonight I woke up from a strange dream. I won't go into all of it, but to say there was a point that I became aware that an old married couple, and a cop that became part of the unfolding scene, were shapeshifters. At one point I walked up to the old man and said "You're a shapeshifter". I recall nothing happened (and thinking about it). Somehow, I was able to relay to others around, without so many words, that something treacherous was happening and I needed my back watched so I could get away from these unreal people... and those around understood it and became vigilant on the scene so I could get out and away. Now that I've looked up the page referring to accusing the person who's a skinwalker, I now take note that it says to call the person by their full name along with the accusation. I want to add one more note. In Classic 'V' neck... reptilian style, I said:
What I'm basing that on is that sometime after becoming aware of a 'V' neck distinction when cruising those unique photos, I'd been visited by a neighbor very early one morning while I was out on the back porch... she was outside in her yard and noticed I was outside on the back porch (next door) and came over for a short visit. She's my friends friend, whom I've had acquaintance with and more recently have hung out with more, she and I going to swap meet type events together and what-not. This particular morning, out of the corner of my eye I observed she had a 'V' neck, and this is after my thinking it was a shapeshifter thing. I had to question myself. "Now do I think this is a shapeshifter pretending to be [so-and-so] standing here near me? Or is this just [so-and-so] and a 'V' neck is not necessarily exclusively reptilian?" The latter instantly won out and I couldn't consider or entertain any idea otherwise... though really, I should have asked her later "Did you visit me on the back porch this morning?" Or yesterday, whenever, lol. Interesting too, that when I saw it on her it was early in the morning. The image of Amy Winehouse with the 'V' neck was taken early in the morning also, at 6 am. i have never heard about V-necks being reptilian. they are my favorite type of cut because they make the chest look more prominent, it pulls UR eye down to them, whereas the rounded necks and square necks are not as flattering to a smaller chest. |
