Treaty of Peace and Cooperation between Fark and the Foreign Division

The High Contracting Parties:
ANXIOUS to promote peace and stability through abiding respect for freedom, justice and sovereignty;
DESIRING to enhance peace, friendship and mutual cooperation on matters affecting High Contracting Parties;
CONVINCED that the settlement of differences or disputes between their member nations should be regulated by rational, effective and sufficiently flexible procedures, avoiding negative attitudes which might endanger or hinder cooperation;
BELIEVING in the need for cooperation with all peace-loving nations, all across Planet Bob, in the furtherance of world peace, stability and harmony;
SOLEMNLY AGREE to enter into a Treaty of Peace and Cooperation as follows:
CHAPTER I : PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLES
Article 1
The purpose of this Treaty is to promote perpetual peace, and everlasting amity among the peoples and nations of Fark and TFD which would contribute to their strength, solidarity and closer relationship,
Article 2
In their relations with one another, the High Contracting Parties shall be guided by the following fundamental principles:
a. Mutual respect for the independence, sovereignty, equality, territorial integrity and identity of all nations belonging to FARK and TFD ;
b. The right of every nation and alliance to lead its existence free from external interference, subversion or coercion;
c. Settlement of differences or disputes by peaceful means;
d. Renunciation of the threat or use of force.
CHAPTER II : FRIENDSHIP
Article 3
In pursuance of the purpose of this Treaty the High Contracting Parties shall endeavour to develop and strengthen long-term stability, future orientation, friendship and good neighbourliness which bind them together and shall fulfil in good faith the obligations assumed under this Treaty.
CHAPTER III : NON-VIOLENT SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTES
Article 4
The High Contracting Parties shall have the determination and good faith to prevent disputes from arising. In case disputes on matters directly affecting them should arise, especially disputes likely to disturb peace and harmony, they shall refrain from the threat or use of force and shall at all times settle such disputes among themselves through friendly negotiations.
Article 5
The High Contracting Parties which are parties to a dispute should be encouraged to take initiatives to solve it by friendly negotiations before resorting to other procedures.
Article 6
Neither signatory alliance nor its members shall engage in aggression, partake in any acts of espionage, or assist in any way the enemies of either alliance.
Article 7
A nation violating Article 6 must pay reparations to the defending nation or alliance. If the aggressing nation is unwilling to cease the war and/or pay reparations, their alliance will put them up for trial that may result in the nation’s expulsion.
Article 8
Should a member nation find itself in a state of war with a member nation of the other signing alliance, its ruler must report to relevant officials in its alliance and they have to report to relevant officials in the other alliance. A diplomatic resolution must be sought to halt the war.
CHAPTER IV : COOPERATION
Article 9
The High Contracting Parties shall endeavour to foster cooperation in the furtherance of the cause of peace, harmony, and stability, not only between them but throughout Planet Bob. To this end, the High Contracting Parties shall maintain regular contacts and consultations with one another on international and regional matters with a view to coordinating their views actions and policies.
Article 10
The High Contracting Parties may promote active cooperation in the economic, social, technical, scientific and administrative fields as well as in matters of common ideals and aspirations of international peace and stability in the region and all other matters of common interest.
CHAPTER V : GENERAL PROVISION
Article 11
This treaty can be revoked by the government of either alliance. Notification of revocation must be given to the other signatory within forty-eight hours. Should this treaty be revoked by either alliance, a forty-eight hour grace period begins in which neither alliance may violate this treaty.
Article 12
This Treaty shall be signed by the Squirrel and TotalFark Council of Farkistan, as well as by the President, and the senators of TFD. It shall be ratified in accordance with the constitutional procedures of each signatory alliance.
Article 13
This Treaty shall enter into force on the date of its announcement at the CN Open World Forum.
IN FAITH THEREOF the High Contracting Parties have signed the Treaty and have hereto affixed their Seals.
