~Brown's Valley~ Dani,Jack,Kyo,and Drew shuffleled listlessly through the refuse,dust and rot consumed streets of brown's valley.the winter sun over head both chilled and burned at them. Like a hypocritical killer of their restless spirits. The qaurtet turned a street corner and were instantaneously galvanized into action. Kyo held up a handa signal for everyone to be quiet. Drew ran his gloved hand over the butt of his rifel. Jack unsheathe a mache'te and then they fallowed. the four made their way into an alley and then sqautted behind a dumpster. "okay so the street we need is choked up with walkers." Drew said first. "So now what?" Kyo asked anyone with an awnser." they can't run." Jack added. Dani who had been mostly quiet so far agreed. Kyo looked at Drew who anwsered by standing and swinging his rifel out of its holster and cocking it." let's roll." The four of them darted out've the alley one after the other into the gauntlet of the foul,fetid,undead arms. Kyo hacked a clean path for himself,Dani moved as if she was possesed barreling through the crowd with her crwbar serving as an artifical wall, Jack gored her way through the undead's outsttretched arms,Drew ran through them just like so many mosh pits he'd before the dead decied that they were to restless for peramnent sleep. As they worked through the crowd a team of shadows documented their moves carefully. "unusually brash." the first shadow commented. "But effective." the second the added. the third and fourth said nothing and just atteneded to keeping any wandering corpses from their place of operations. Kyo,Jack,and Dani had nade it to a open patch in the grizzly parade and wher cathing their breath when somthing dire happened. Drew ducked out've one zombies grip and ran through anothers when somthing the snatched his beanie of his head. his dark hair flew into his eyes and he skidded to a painful stop on his hands and knees and looked back from his back at the crowd that was now engulfing him. Kyo was the first to notice drew take the dive."Holy Sh*t! DREW!!" he ejaculated. Dani's head shot up and bolted to where the undead wher limping inwards. Jack did'nt even think just reflexivly ran toward the spot when Kyo yanked her back. "No we've got to keep moving!" Kyo said motioning toward the still approaching dead on their end of the fray. Dani didnt want agree but she knew they would all die if they attenpted a rescue. they turned their backs to the cannonade Drew was producind from a presumably prone position and powered through the remaning amount of walkers. they had cleared the crowd but kept running. they ran until their legs cursed them for it . the stopped all sharp of breath. "WHY TH FUC DID WE LEAVE HIM!" Dani screamed in a vocie slurred from the run and the greif of what they had just done. Jack was taking out her frustration ond a abondonded truck. Kyo just looked at the ground as if his shoes would awnser his questions. He dropped his stained katanna to the floor and fell to a sitting postion and buried his head in his hands. Drew dropped his smoking gun and leaned against car and looked at the mess he created. he whistled to himself and then seached through his jacket for somthing. He took a black bandanna out and unraveled it. A pack of cigerettes fell from it and landed with a soft tap on the pavment. Drew eyed it and then stepped on it crushing them beneath his converse shoes. He tied the bandanna around his head,threw his now decimated outer jacket too the ground and holstered his rifel. The four shadows fallowed him up the street as he walked up the bloodied street. He sang a song to himself as he kickedbullet ridden heads in and walked up the street. "i don't belive in the end of times,idont believe i the solar eclipse,Idont belive." he sangs as he walked up the street. moans slowly met his song at the chrous and he swung his rifel out've its holster and started to non schaulantly loading it as he walked and sang his song of little faith. "very progrssive charactar development." one one the shadows commented. Kyo who was supporting a leaning dani and fallowed by a still fuming jack arrived grudgingly at the border of brown's valley and a stretch of freeway with still no Drew to round out their group. "we should wait." Dani meekly commented. Jack sighed in agreement and kyo who was obivously tierd of this responsibity agreed even though dusk was quickly approaching. "We need to get out've sight though. its getting dark." the three of them tryed to take shelter in the nearby buildings but to no avail. So as per jacks handywork they made a unlikey camp out've an abondended van. Dani gagged a commented on how much the van reeked of weed. jack carefully took off her gear so as not too make any noise. Kyo laughed quietly and pushed asside the horribly lush curtian on the window and watched the darkness approach. Drew sat on top of a car while a zombie clawed the glass from inside. its foul breath fogged the glass to the point milky drps of persperation fell back into its mouth."shut it bitch" Drew said slamming his heel down into the glass knocking the zombie onto the seats inside due to its face's prominty to the glass. Drew jumped off the car and turned around a corner a stared ahead at the Bronwn's valley city limit sign. Inside the car Kyo nearly jumped out've his skin as the familer silouette of Drew was outlined on the horizon of the street. but so where several slouching moaners. "Guys shut up!" Kyo exclaimed in a hushed voice. Seeing as Jack and Dani where'nt talking this struck them as a bit odd. They looked out form their own spots at the window. After a pause the silouette of Drew started walking toward the city limits. Kyo slowly opend the door and stepped out and clutched the the handle of his 9mm. Drew walked slowly as not to attract any more zombies than he already had. he limped a little bit as he did due to a skinned knee he sustained during the gauntlet he'd run earlier. He saw Kyo get out've the truck and he stoped. Kyo was aiming his gun straight at him. "Shit." Drew couldnt think. He heard a bullet whiz by his head. "KYO WHAT THE HELL!!" He screamed. A spring of shock and releif swelled up in Kyo's chest. But He knew that in the middle of a street that was slowly accumalating more and more zombies was hardly the place for questions and thanking deitey's for Drew's life. Drew ran to Kyo and looked apst at the van door that hung open revealing Dani and jack staring out in happy confusion. Kyo looked back and waved them over. Drew caugth his second wind and then took in the looks on his comrades faces. "How about we do this whole thing later tonight huh?" Drew quickly said as the moans grew in volume and number around them. There was a agreement in slience and the quartet walked out on to the freeway and out of Brown's Valley leaving a grisly parade of the dead limping akwardly in the street. ~Freeway~ The four of them walked throught the scattershot pattern of dead cars with an alerted sense of caution. Kyo looked into every other car out've random interest. Dani was busy watching the ground for anything that might trp her up while both nikki and Drew decided they'd rather walker over or hop from car to car then take the time to worry about anything grabbing their ankles from out under them. Things contiued in this fashion for a while until they came upon a clean stretch of highway. They walked throught the night in silence listening to the earth around them. the world was'ny saying much. Moans where always in the distance but not close enough for them to casue alarm. " The dead outnumber the living, society is nearly non existent and where on a suicde mission for survival." Drew said to brake the tension. Kyo sighed in agreement and nikki holstered her machet'te and decided she had enough of walking. Everyone else aagreed silently and sat where they where"Okay story time I suppose." Drew said after a few seconds. "As we where running one of those things caught ahold of me and I crashed and burned, Thankfully you guys had the good sense to leave my ass there otherwise we'd all be dead right now." Drew began."We did'nt exactly want to run off!" Dani hasitly blurted before drew could start his next sentence. "look where sorry we had to book it but-" Kyo started. "It's ok you guys I know and I understand, Im glad you ran it was the best choice you could've made at the time." Drew stated with a look of angelic empathy on his usualy scowling face. they where all quiet for ahwile and then drew continued with his story. "After I tripped all bets where off, I just gave anything in rifel range a new hole to breathe out of and lucky for me alot of them where still tailing you guys. after it settled down I ditched my busted gear and decied to solider on weather or not I found you guys." Drew finsihed. They all sat there in the dark of the night and did their best to rest their nerves and their legs. "Okay so where are we sleeping tonight?" Jack yawned while getting to her feet. "Some car I guess." Dani said brushing her knees off. "Kyo squinted through the darkness ahead of them and then suggested a camper."YAY we get to be trailer folk for a night." Drew said walking ahead setting the pace for the others. THey circled the camper checking for any signs of any potential residents. Drew and Dani climbed on top and looked in through the skylights. Kyo climbed on the hood and pressed his face to the glass while nikki stood back and watched for anyone or anything else coming up on them. ''Seems clean." Dani said Drew nodded in agreement and then asked Kyo what he thought."Well the perviouse owners certinatly where pig on porn but I dont see any sight of them." he said still looking in. "Right." Drew said kicking the skylight in and dropping down into the darkness below. The camper rocked back and forth with his entry and Kyo,Dani and Jack gathered at the door. Drew let his eye's adjust and he gave the campr a quick search and found nothing but clothes,dirty magazines and videos and a molding dinner pie. "Figures." he said slowly walking to the door. He opened the door and let the others in and looked around before closing it. ~Camper~ After finding the cabin lights to miraculously stil work they straightened the place up and and chose their sleeping spaces. Drew covered his entry hole with mass amounst of seran wrap and then dimmed the cabin lights and blocked out the front windsheild with the suncover he found under a seat. Once they where all settled a silent relief slowly came over them all. "Entertainment time." Jack said plopping down in a chair. "kyo who had just finished alphabetizing the collection of questionable magazines looked up and agreed with a smile. Dani and drew found their seats and then they all looked from one to another waiting for a voulunteer to come forward. |
