![]() There was once a young girl (CJ7's Josie Xu) who felt alienated from everyone. One day, she befriends a boy as lonely as she is, and they run away to a beautiful world that belongs only to them. Both imaginatively escapist and heartbreakingly realistic, their journey speaks to kids and adults alike with the pain of solitude, the sorrow of loss and the warmth of hope. Based on Jimmy Liao's book, WINDS OF SEPTEMBER director Tom Lin's fanciful film paints in vivid strokes the fears and fantasies of childhood. Just like the heroine, audiences won't forget that summer back when, and its brightest, loneliest STARRY STARRY NIGHT. http://www.hkaff.asia/ Edited by Hitman-Reloaded, Sep 28 2011, 01:40 PM.

Starry Starry Night The most brilliant moment in life can be happy or sad, but it can also act as a beacon to our lives. [Starry Starry Night] tells the story of how a 12 year old girl overcomes the most difficult time in her life and creates a beautiful and precious memory. Mei has a difficult time at both home and school because of her constantly fighting parents. She is attracted to Jay, a newly transferred student, and they form a close bond. Jay is also suffering from problems similar to Mei’s. To show Jay the beautiful, starry, starry night that her grandfather used to show her, Mei decides they must run away. And that moment becomes the most brilliant moment in her life. To a little girl it is the moment of first love, and the magical time of becoming an adult. It is also a memory we can’t touch, like the stars in the far off night sky. Director Tom Shuyu Lin tells us how one short moment can have such a powerful impact on our lives.
