The Xinhai Revolution Start of Filming Ceremony
On Wednesday evening (29th September), Jackie attended the camera rolling ceremony for his upcoming new film, The Xinhai Revolution, held in Fuxin China. Also at the event were executive producer Wang Zhebin and actress Li Bing Bing. He expressed that Jackie and Li Bing Bing will play the main roles, Huang Xing and Xu Zonghan respectively, and will perform emotional scenes including “6 parting, 6 reuniting” scenes in the film.

During the ceremony, Jackie revealed that because he’s been filming in a coal factory lately, he’s had to shower three times at the end of each day, “even after that, I rub my ear and it’s still covered with black soot.”

Executive producer Wang Zhebin highly values this film, The Xinhai Revolution, as it will be Jackie’s 100th film in his career. Wang has invited Jackie to contribute his ideas and professional advice with directing the film. The JC Stunt Team have also done a lot of work for the film.

After shooting scenes of The Xinhai Revolution in Fuxin City, filming will later move around China to places such as Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Nanjing. Furthermore, scenes will also be filmed in England and France.

100 movies is definitely a great achievement. Big props to Jackie for such a milestone. And finally taking better steps with his career again. I think he's finally made up for the crap he's done in Hollywood.

I agree. One can more easily dismiss the bad Hollywood films he has done by looking at his recent output and upcoming projects. However, the martial arts fan in my longs for him to work on Operation Condor 3: Chinese Zodiac or Drunken Master 1945 or something of that nature. And also for him to work on his disciples movies that got announced. Or put your disciples in this film. But maybe I'm being unrealistic.

In what context is this being considered his 100th film? I checked IMDb and he's credited with 106 titles. Still, it's great to Jackie has become more revitalised for his career and seems to steering it in the direction he's wanted to do for a long time now. I'm sure we'll get AOG 3 and DM '45 some time soon.

Maybe he's not counting one's in which he's only had cameos? Like Enter the Dragon, King of Comedy, or Twins Mission(I think it was Twins Mission)?

Day-and-Date Release Planned in U.S., China for Jackie Chan's '1911' (Berlin)
by Borys Kit

And in what may be a first for an Asian movie, Well Go aims to give the movie a day-and-date release in the U.S. and China. The company is primarily known for its home entertainment releases of mostly Asian fare, but has been slowly moving into the theatrical sphere, most recently opening Ip Man 2 in January.

By having the day-and-date release, the company hopes to better tap into the Asian community market and capitalize on Chan's still-strong appeal.

Billed as Chan's 100th movie, 1911 tells of the founding of the Republic of China when nationalist forces led by Sun Yat-sen overthrew the Qing Dynasty.

Winston Chao plays Sun while Chan is a high-ranking officer in his army.

"We are honored to be a part of 1911 on many levels, not only because of its historical significance but also because it's Jackie's 100th film," Well Go president Doris Pfardrescher said. "Jackie Chan is an icon and it's just thrilling for us to be able to bring this film to his North American fans on the same day and date as Asia's theatrical release."

Chan co-directed the movie with Zhang Li and the movie is seen as Chan's latest effort to move into more dramatic spheres as he matures.

Jackie and JJ Prods. and the Shanghai Film Group produced the movie.
