I thought there was a topic like this but i guess not. I drifted away from anime considerably yet recently I've viewed a few things: The short film compilation, Genuis Party by Studio 4 has some pretty cool and weird gems. This one called "Happy Machine" is one of the most bizarre and playful anime I've seen: also, I 've been watching Kurozuka which is extrememly badass and dark. Some of the coolest action/fighting I've seen in an anime....and I need to start up Gunslinger Girls 2 since i got the blu during the Amazon sale. |

Saw the first episode of High School of the Dead, pretty good but I figure that once you've seen enough zombie films, you can guess where they are going with it, plus all the underwear shots get on my nerves. I'll catch the rest when it's closer to completion. Also, I'm going to Otakon the anime convention this weekend and I have a panel tomorrow as well! Wish me luck! |

Finally sat down and watched my DVDs of Gunslinger Girl, they've been sitting on my shelf for 3+ years! Surprisingly good perhaps I'll check out Season 2. |

Been watching the Cantonese dubs of "Soul Eater" and "Black Butler II". Having seen the first Black Butler series, I can honestly say that Black Butler II makes absolutely no sense right now! |

I liked Soul Eater... It's been awhile, but if I remember correctly it just ended abruptly. I am watching Occult Academy, High School of the Dead (can do without all the boobage and panty shoots. But it's interesting. Bleach. Was watching the first couple of episodes of Shiki, but I am not sure if I am going to continue. Something about the animation style I don't like. |

Watched Crusher Joe: The Movie and the Crusher Joe ova's, The Ice Prison and The Final Weapon: Ash. Solid space opera, but by the time you've finished the last ova, you understand why they never made any more. Crusher Joe is probably more famous for introducing The Dirty Pair. Still the old school designs and hand-drawn animation gave me the warm fuzzies. |

I finally started up Gunslinger Girl 2 on bluray. The stories (whole story arc) is more compelling than the first season. Even though the girls kick ass when they are on their missions this is essentianlly a drama. On a side note I just got the bluray of Maaya Sakamoto's 15th year anniversary concert and 2 highlights that blew me away were when she sang: Gravity (Wolf's Rain) and Hemisphere (Rahxephon) |

Where did you get that zen? I've been eyeing it but it's kind of out of my budget, but if there's a good price... Also, Rahxephon is a criminally underrated show. |

not exactly cheap from yesasia: $83.75...but at least there was no shipping charge and I got the limited edition with the 25 page booklet attached to cover. CDJapan had sold out of the limited and it would have cost nearly $100 with their shipping I watch concerts repeatedly, unlike movies so I'm cool with the investment. |

Just finished Demon King Daimo (crunchyroll). It would have played better without the excessive fanservice. Fairly typical shonnen, except for the emphasis on magical/weapons based fighting. Glad to have seen it; glad I didn't have to buy it to do so. |

I've got both of those on VHS! I'll mostly agree with what you said there, they're both kind of fun but ultimately forgettable. Although I did think the movie was better than the two OVAs. |

Just finished Macross Frontier, pretty good show, though I wasn't a big fan of the ending, but that is pretty common. Yoko Kanno has a great soundtrack and there are plenty of battle scenes. Solid animation and character development really made me want to go back and watch my old Macross discs. |

Ever since finishing Gunslinger Girls 2 I haven't watched any anime. I'm pretty burnt out and too lazy to research any new ones. I will probably revisit Last Exile when it comes out on bluray next year. (I just noticed Voltin has 679 posts and I have 675) |

Almost finished the first Dirty Pair box, just one ep to go. It's been great so far. It's the adventures of two young women, Kei and Yuri, who are galactic trouble shooters for the Worlds Welfare Works Association (WWWA). Their code name is The Lovely Angels, but their habit of strewing catastrophe around them as they work has earned them the nickname of the Dirty Pair. The DP movies and OAVs have been available off n' on for about a decade, but the tv series has been long unavailable. Any anime fan should give a look if only because this was the first 'girls with guns' anime series. This is one of the series that started anime's popularity in the States, too. |
