Anyone seen this version? It just came out on Blu-Ray and I love the original but want to know if the addition content is worth it. Some other sites suggest so, but I value the opinions around here more. |

Completely worth getting the Blu-ray. For $19.99 that price is a gift: The entire opening sequence is redone with a new CG version. Many of the scenes where there are mechanisms/buildings are now in CG The entire soundtrack was redone by Kenji Kawai, with the same sound palette as "Innocence". Overall, the care they gave this makes it more of a complete pair with how "Innocence" turned out, with the stunning CG backgrounds. |

Sounds like a done deal, the Innocence BD does look lonely on the shelf. |

Really? I heard it was crap. The CG doesn't mesh with the original animation at all and the original GiTS on the other disc is given a completely crappy transfer. That's what I heard anyway. For the price, ya maybe...but I'd rather wait for the original to get a good HD transfer. |

I've seen it and i dont like it. Probably because i've seen the original so many times That movie needs to stay intact. Its a beautiful movie , with wonderful shots and a gorgeous color palette. I also love Innocence , but Ghost in the Shell animation doesnt need any kind of improving. |

I thought it looked pretty damn good on Blu-Ray and the new enhanced sound is really something else. |

I wish they'd just completely reanimated the entire movie, because only doing a few scenes make them stand out from the old animation. Just doesn't mesh really well, although it's nice to see old scenes given new life. |

I just saw Innocence again. I watched my bluray copy selecting the dubbed version.(which I never do ) Sinced this film is so wordy I actually enjoyed it more with the English dub, since I could enjoy the visuals without the subs being in the way. Some of the conversations are pretty philosophical and listening to them was much easier to take in. Overall, i think this is a masterpiece and surpasses the first. |
