Rainie Yang Becomes The Evil Queen

In order for Rainie Yang to break free from her usual cutie style, she decided to act in one of Pang Brothers ghost films series, “Child’s Eye”. She would be starring with Shawn Yue as a couple who went for a vacation in Thailand. A series of bizarre events happened to them. Eventually, Rainie Yang would save her boyfriend from danger.

The Pang Brothers chose Rainie Yang because of her difficult love life in reality and her similarity to the female character in the movie. All of these fits like pieces to a puzzle so Rainie Yang shall become one of the new rising “Evil Queen”.

Rainie Yang appeared as a female warrior who was clad in armour for her endorsment. This endorsement is for a popular online multiplayer gaming site. She felt that she could not be compared to other endorsers, Yaoyao and Shushu who were the labeled hotties. Rainie Yang claimed that she had already lose out to them in terms of figures. So she decided to act according to her way and wear naturally.

Rainie Yang earns a lot but she never once showed it off. She does not buy any extravagant stuff for herself. Once she wanted to buy a white LV bag for her mother but she brushed off the thought when she saw the price tag. The bag costs a freaking NT$ 100,000 dollars!

Recently, Rainie Yang joined her friends on a vacation to Japan. She enjoyed herself tremendously at Disneyland but she was soon spotted by her fans. She mistook the fans from Taiwan, in fact the fans were from Japan and they remembered her from “Meteor Garden”! What surprised Rainie was they even wrote down the drama’s name in Chinese characters and showed it to her. She was so touched that people still remembers her for so long.

3-D shock and awe from Pang brothers
he first Asian digital 3-D horror film is coming to theaters from Universe Films and the directing twins Danny and Oxide Pang. The Pang brothers, who are overseeing the postproduction of their $12 million comic adaptation "The Storm Warriors," due in December, will return to the horror roots that brought them international attention with 2002's "The Eye," which was remade as a U.S. version starring Jessica Alba. "The Child's Eye in 3D" tells the story of six stranded Hong Kong travelers during the shutdown of the Bangkok airport in the November 2008 anti-government protest and their supernatural encounters after the disappearance of three in the group.

The Child's Eye 3D
(Tungngaan 3D) (Hong Kong)

By LESLIE FELPERIN

A Universe Entertainment presentation in association with Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment Co. of an Enable Film Prods. production (International sales: Universe Films Distribution, Hong Kong.) Produced by Alvin Lam, Danny Pang, Oxide Pang. Executive producer, Daneil Lam. Co-executive producer, Kebo Wu. Directed by Danny Pang, Oxide Pang. Screenplay, Pang, Pang, Pak Sing Pang.

With: Rainie Yang, Elanne Kwong, Lam Ka Tung, Jo Koo, Ciwi Lam, Izz Xu, Rex Ho, Shawn Yue. (Cantonese, Mandarin, Thai, English dialogue)

Hands pop out of the ground, monsters lunge camerawards, and other shocktastic devices that even William Castle would have thought corny are deployed for stereoscopic silliness in "The Child's Eye," the latest from prolific co-helming brothers Danny and Oxide Pang. Billing itself as Hong Kong's first 3D horror film, the pic certainly doesn't offer any firsts in the script department, with a hoary tale of a haunted hotel in Bangkok. Outside Asia, this one looks destined to be eyeballed mostly by cultists.

Three couples -- played by Rainie Yang and Shawn Yue, Elanne Kwong and Izz Xu, and Ciwi Lam and Rex Ho -- are about to fly home to Hong Kong from Bangkok when civil unrest closes the airport. With nowhere else to go, they wind up at a fleabag hotel run by shifty Chuen (Lam Ka Tung). Turns out a ghost is also in residence there that only a fetching dog can see (surely "The Dog's Eye" would be a more accurate title?). Given a secondary monster that's an unconvincingly latexed half-man, half-mutt, and the predictability of the shocks, pic is all-round a bit of dog.

Camera (color, 3D), Decha Srimantra; editor, Curan Pang; music, Origin Kampanee; art director, Nuth Chimprasert; costume designer, Surasuk Warakitcharoen. Reviewed at Venice Film Festival (noncompeting), Sept. 4, 2010. Running time: 96 MIN.
