Welcome challengers! This here is the arena for DG's Card Battles! These battles involve the use of the unofficial cards made by me that have become quite popular. These fights are purely for fun, with no rewards gained that can be used outside of this "metagame". For the challenges, guidelines, and other information, check THIS thread! DG VS A-pat: "Alrighty. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first battle of its kind! One featuring no official cards, only ones made by some weirdo living with his parents! Today's star is none other than Apatosaurus! Wait a second. They're not supposed to bring cards with over 100 HP! How is a 230 HP Apatosaurus allowed?! Oh, wait. Wrong Apatosaurus." "Now, who will Apatosaurus be fighting today?" A dark, caped figure enters the arena, with has of his face hidden by his signature top hat. He stops once he reaches his side of the arena and, in the blink of an eye, grabs a deck of cards from his pockets. "Oh, this is one hell of a crowd pleaser all right! Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the figure known only as Mystery Man!" Mystery Man grins as he picks out one of his several cards and throws it into the middle of the arena. As the light blue card lands, a snowstorm sweeps over the arena, reducing visibility to a near zero. The storm soon passes, revealing a mid sized ceratopsian made of snow with razor sharp icicles instead of spikes and horns. The icy dinosaur paws at the ground before roaring ![]() Mystery Man chuckles as his frigid beast adopts a defensive posture, waving its frill to intimidate its opponent. "Styracosaurus, give 'em a good Piercing Spear."

Apatosaurus took a deep breath, watching a small cloud emit from his mouth following the appearance of the icy ceratopsian in front of him. A small half-size graces the face of the younger member. He had prepared for this battle more than any battle before. "Dark Gricer, while your move is well intentioned, I was without a doubt that you would wish to showcase the powers of Ice type following your... heated conversation with Clockwork. As such, this was the first card I chose for this deck." And with flourish, the somewhat c ![]() "So sorry to put a kink your plans so soon, but please-- anyone could be guessed that you were going to include an Ice attribute in this deck. Now, Australovenator, use Cold Embrace on his Styracosaurus." |

DG VS A-pat: The newly formed Australovenator sizes up its opponent, unfazed by the larger dinosaur's aggressive display. However, the Styracosaurus packed more than just an empty threat and charged the smaller theropod. The polar hunter didn't seem to deem it much of a threat however, and leaps straight at its head. The ceratopsian is quick to react and impales the incoming predator on its horn. And yet the Australovenator was determined. In spite of its injuries rapidly weakening it, it powers up its claws and gives the Styracosaurus the cold embrace of death. Turn 1: Styracosaurus: -20 HP (-29 HP if you really want to count the Bleed counter damage that doesn't matter in this scenario.) Australovenator: 0 HP (Dash is normal, not innate, in case you didn't know.) DG: 4, 2 A-pat: 4, 2 ---------------------------- "An impressive first turn! However it seems Australovenator didn't quite put all its effort into that, resulting in a double down! Both battlers are still on even ground, it would seem. Now let us see what they will send out next!" "An excellent prediction, my friend. This looks like it will be a good fight!"Mystery Man tosses his second card. This time it explodes into a heap of dirt. The dirt seems to move magically, forming the shape of a huge mammal, even bigger than the dinosaurs that came before it. Once fully formed, the beast stomps the ground with its left arm, shaking the arena, before letting out a lazy moan. ![]() "Eremotherium, Leisurely Strike!""Ooh, that is a powerful card right here! Not a whole lot of cards out there capable of taking a hit from something that large! Fortunately it's not the most active thing around. Knowing how potent of a battler Apatosaurus is, such laziness could prove highly detrimental!" |

"Hmmm...not quite what I was hoping for." Apatosaurus murmured quietly. Rifling through the few cards he had left, he carefully considered his options. "Well," he finally called across the field, "let's just try something a little complicated, just for fun." Casting out his own card, he watched as the frozen ground rumbled then burst skyward, the fresh dirt underneath revealing a large set to spikes and a clubbed tail, as I the creature which crawled out from the ground had been born of the very Earth itself. ![]() I must admit, I'm a bit stymied by your olay, however as a student of the Earth Element, I am surprisingly familiar with its weaknesses. Unfortunately, being a student of the Earth element, I have none of those cards with me. That is not to say I am with out a plan however. Euplocephalous will use Heavy Strike against your lonely mammal. And then..." Apatosaurus lifted up another card, but did not fling it onto the field. Instead, a Barrage of Arrows fired out of the card, all aiming for the Eremotherium, as the ankylosaurid charged forward. ![]() "And for extra measure, Euplocephalus will activate this little beauty." I called out, casting forth yet another card. ![]() Slightly nervous that not all of his move was legal, despite the slightly illegal nature of his entire deck to begin with, Apatosaurus bit his lip, waiting to see how much of his attack actually worked. |

DG VS A-pat: The ghostly form of a large ceratopsian appears besides the Euplocephalus and seems to bless it. On the other side of the arena, the Eremotherium charges at its opponent, which turns its sides to face the charging creature, preparing an attack. Apatosaurus raises one of the cards in his hand, which spews forth a barrage of arrows, but the sloth is unfazed by the projectiles and instead begins to slowly raise its arms. Before it can bring them back down, the Euplocephalus lands a crushing blow on its torso, sending the mammal stumbling backwards. The Eremotherium recovers, however, and delivers a blow of extreme power, pounding the dinosaur straight back into the ground where it came from, the ghostly Agathaumas disappearing with it. Turn 2: Eremotherium: 65 HP (2 Crush counters. Effectiveness of its damage reducing abilities is now halved.) Euplocephalus: -20 HP (Judging from what Clocky said on the "Jumpstart" battle, healing doesn't work if the card is outright KO'd.) African Gar: 60 HP (Currently in hand) DG: 4, 2 A-pat: 3, 1 ---------------------------- "What a show! What a show! Eremotherium is quite the powerhouse, but Euplocephalus has left it vulnerable and tired! This could be the perfect opportunity to take it down!" Mystery Man laughs gleefully at the spectacle. "Ah, I was considering bringing that ankylosaur with me too, you know! Asides from me not bringing that though, it does seem our decks have some cards in common. Eremotherium might not be able to attack, but this can!"Mystery Man selects one of his cards, but keeps it off the field. With a quick peek, it is revealed Apatosaurus was not the only one to bring a gar to the battle. ![]() "Now, from the safety of my hand, African Gar will use Arrow Barrage on your next creature!"

"Hmmm... I thought that would end differently based off of the specific wording of Miracle Health." I tell the Mystery Man. "Although I think you'll find our decks have at least one more similarity."![]() As my own slothful warrior came forward, appearing in a burst of sand and dirt, I called out to it: "Leisurely Strike on his Eremotherium!" |

DG VS A-pat: As Mystery Man's Eremotherium slacks off, Apatosaurus' very own Eremotherium goes on the offensive. Its strikes Mystery Man's sloth with incredible power, shattering the construct into the tiny pieces of dirt it was made from. The African Gar fires a barrage of watery arrows from within Mystery Man's hand, but alas, the projectiles did not seem to even so much as bother the remaining sloth. Turn 3: Eremotherium (DG): -55 HP African Gar (DG): 60 HP (Currently in hand) Eremotherium (A-pat): 90 HP African Gar (A-pat): 60 HP (Currently in hand) DG: 3, 2 A-pat: 3, 1 ---------------------------- "Ooh! A clever move by A-pat! It seems his Euplocephalus was merely a diversion to lure his opponent into a false sense of security! Falling for such a trick could cost Mystery Man dearly! The crowd seems eager to see how Mystery man will respond to this." Mystery Man examines his remaining cards for a moment before deciding which one to use. As he tosses his next card, it explodes into a burst of fire in mid air. A large, incredibly stocky theropod with horns made of fire lands in front of Apatosaurus' Eremotherium. ![]() But Mystery Man wasn't quite done yet, and throws down another card. In a bright burst of light, a familiar looking creature appears, a ghostly Agathaumas. ![]() "Odd how many of the same cards we are carrying. Either way, Ceratosaurus will use Master at Arms and Power Jaws while African Gar will use another Arrow Barrage!"

"Eremotherium!" I called out. The beast slowly began to turn towards me, but before it could react, was pelted by the arrows firing from DG's gar, and the Ceratosaurus loomed ominously behind it. Attempting to save my doomed sloth, I pulled forward again my own African Gar, which fired a barrage of arrows at the Ceratosaurus. |

DG VS A-pat: With a loud roar, the flames forming the Ceratosaurus' horns grow brighter and bigger. The theropod proceeds to charge the lazy sloth and bites down hard on its arm. The Eremotherium moans, but doesn't seem too affected by the attack. Nor did the arrows fired by Mystery Man's gar. Apatosaurus own gar fired its barrage at Ceratosaurus, but only left a minor scratch, one immediately healed by the Agathaumas' powers. Turn 4: Ceratosaurus: 70 HP (Master at Arms in effect for 2 more turns) African Gar (DG): 60 HP (Currently in hand) Miracle Heal in effect for 2 more turns. Eremotherium: 75 HP (Able to again attack next turn) African Gar (A-pat): 60 HP (Currently in hand) DG: 3, 2 A-pat: 3, 1 ---------------------------- "Seems to me like Eremotherium is a wall that's proving itself hard to break. Perhaps Mystery Man came a little underprepared. Or perhaps he's playing a trick of his own! Only time will tell!" Mystery Man reaches out his hand for his Ceratosaurus, causing it to start returning to its card form. In the meantime he also tosses out another card. The card explodes in a flash, temporarily blinding everyone in the stadium. When the flash fades, you can see a vague blur running circles around the arena at incredible speed. Though its going too fast to make out any details, you quickly identify it as... ![]() "With the speed of lightning, Battering Ram, followed up by another Arrow Barage!"

(Umm, I think I can attack this turn...?) "Leisurely Strike! Target the Embelo when it gets in close!" I call to the lumbering sloth. In terms of speed, I had no hope for any sort of advantage, but when it came to endurance, I was certain my Eremotherium would outlast his fleet-footed battering ram. |

DG VS A-pat: The Erembotherium stand up on its hind legs and prepares a strike, waiting for its opponent to approach. Sure enough, the brown blur changes direction in the blink of an eye and ramming the sloth at mach speeds. Hurt, but not down for the count the Erembotherium swings its arms down at its opponent tries to escape its range, crushing the rhinoceros like animal. Though it has defeated the Embolotherium, another barrage of arrows strikes it, but they leave no visible mark on the sloth's tough hide. Turn 5: Embolotherium: -100 HP Ceratosaurus: 70 HP (Master at Arms in effect for 1 more turn) African Gar (DG): 60 HP (Currently in hand) Miracle heal in effet for one more turn. (Dormant until Ceratosaurus is sent back out) Eremotherium: 51 HP African Gar (A-pat): 60 HP DG: 2, 2 A-pat: 3, 1 ---------------------------- Mystery Man prepares to throw down his gar, but hesitates. With a weary sigh, he puts his remaining cards back in his pocket. "Oh? What is this? Mystery Man has forfeited the match! It seems his opponent proved too much to handle! Well folks, I think it's fair to say this was an interesting battle and that a lot of us are excited to see what these oddball cards can do in future battles! See y'all next battle!" After a final cheer, the crowd begins to exit the stadium as the lighting dims. Soon, Apatosaurus and Mystery Man are the only people left in the arena. "You're a clever one, all right. Really had me fooled into thinking you didn't have a sloth of your own. Not that it was likely to change the outcome by much if I had known. The point is, you got me beat. Just don't get cocky. I've got plenty more tricks up my sleeve. Good luck to you."With his closing statement done, Mystery Man exits the arena. |

Tipping his head respectfully to the older member, A-pat manages to hide his mixed emotions. Joy, a common emotion after a well-fought battle, especially one such as this had been. Excitement, to continue to test the limits of the newer cards. And, to a degree, sadness. Because summoning a Giant Cheetah during a Thunderstorm would've been so cool but he didn't get a chance. Soon, soon... Apat thought. For his challenges would not end here, of that he was certain. Great battle DG, those are some fun cards. A lot of them are very technically, and some of them I'd definitely like a second run with, especially Euplocephalous. Anyways, that'd be my only complaint-- overcomplication. Ice type was fun, though maybe not necessary in my opnion, and I'll have you know that Styraco was one of those last few cards I was considering. I'd love to PM you sometime about your cards, but for now, suffice it to say that that was an exciting batgle, and I really like your cards. |

Patience my friend. There's gonna be a lot more Ice attributes soon (Including a mother *EFF*ing Wendigo, so you know it's gonna be awesome). So you might want to hold your judgement until there's more than just 3 of them, of which only one is actually designed to represent a somewhat proper Ice attribute.
