Third time's the charm!

Chapter 1
A teenage boy was sitting by a large pond. He had messy white hair and blue eyes. He wore a red shirt and white pants.
"Hey Alpha!" a young voice called to him.
He looked back to see a younger boy run up to him. This kid had short brown hair and blue eyes, and he wore a green t-shirt and khaki shorts.
"Hey Don," Alpha said.
"Aw, what's the matter?" Don asked. "Are ya thinkin' 'bout stuff again?"
Alpha nodded. "I feel like an outsider," he explained. "Everyone has those '+ creatures now.' Even you have one!"
You see, Alpha was a pretty good Battler. However, a month ago, a new kind of card was introduced to the battling community. Called '+ creatures' they further powered certain creatures, making them stronger and with new special abilities. Almost every person on the Cratalis got one. Strangely, Alpha didn't get one. Now, + creatures have taken card battles by storm, and Alpha is the one who's out of the loop.
"Oh come on Al!" Don told him. "Just 'cause you don't have a + creature doesn't mean that you're no longer good."
"Hey, are you sitting there again?" another voice, one older than Don's, asked Alpha.
Don and Alpha turned around to see another teenage boy approach them. He had black hair that formed a spike and red eyes. He wore a blue shirt and grey pants.
"Oh hey Agemo," Alpha said.
Agemo was one of the Battlers who got a + creature when they were first introduced. Lately, he has become a really good Battler, surpassing Alpha's skills.
"Hey Agemo, Alpha needs some of his fiery spirit back," Don told Agemo. "How about you challenge him to a Card Battle?"
Alpha stood up in shock. He didn't expect to hear that.
"Why would I bother?" Agemo scoffed.
"You're his friend, aren't you?" Don asked him. "And friends help each other, don't they? Besides, right now it seems like you're chickening out of a good fight."
Agemo eyes widened and he bared his teeth in anger.
"Fine, I'll accept," Agemo replied, irritated. "He doesn't even have a + creature, so he'll be easy game."
"Well, I guess it's game on then," Alpha said with a faint smirk.
"I'll referee!" Don exclaimed with a grin.
Alpha and Agemo took their places. Don was on the side, watching from the middle.
"Alright, ready guys?" Don said with excitement. "Then... BATTLE BEGIN!"

Chapter 2
Don's Report

Agemo: 4 creatures, 2 move cards
Alpha: 4 creatures, 2 move cards

A battle is about to begin. Each Battler can have two creatures on their side of play, although they can only summon one at a time. This battle's gonna be awesome. I can barely contain my excitement!

Alpha and Agemo were eyeing each other from across the field. Like any good Battler, they were ready to throw down the cards.
"Well, let's get it started already," Agemo said. "Come on out Gallimimus!"
Agemo threw down a yellow card. The card lit up before revealing a Gallimimus.
"I'm starting this battle with a little spark," Agemo told Alpha.
"Then I'll be the one to light it up!" Alpha replied. "Go Acrocanthosaurus!"
Alpha threw down an orange card. An Acrocanthosaurus appeared after a bright flash.
"Quick Nip now!" Agemo commanded.
"Go attack with Bite!" Alpha exclaimed.
The Gallimimus was the first to strike, quickly biting the larger theropod. However, a powerful bite to the neck by the Acrocanthosaurus brought the smaller dinosaur down. The Gallimimus dissolved into glowing voxels that faded away once they touched the ground.
Don's Report

Gallimimus: -20 HP (KO)
Acrocanthosaurus: 70 HP

Agemo: 3 creatures, 2 move cards
Alpha: 4 creatures, 2 move cards

Alpha's currently in the lead. Things are looking good for him. Go Alpha!

"I was just getting started," Agemo said. "Now this is the moment where I defeat you. Let's go Tobaryuu!
Now Agemo threw a green card to the ground. Rising from the ground was a fairly large sauropod.
Tobaryuu

Element Nature
HP: 180
Sacrifice: Destroy this card and choose a creature. That creature gains 180 HP
Take Down: 90 dmg
Weakness: Fire / Resistance: Wind

"Now, let me introduce you to my + creature," Agemo said, his face forming a grin.
Suddenly, the Tobaryuu was surrounded by a great light as a glowing + symbol appeared under it. The sauropod changed shape. After the light disappeared, a strange creature was revealed. It was a sauropod, but its body looked much more graceful, almost like a horse. It was a greenish-yellow with blue along its spine. Determined light-blue eyes and a golden lightning-bolt-shaped crest made this creature look majestic yet intimidating.
"This is true power!" Agemo exclaimed. "Behold, Tobaryuu +!"
Tobaryuu +

Element Nature/Lightning
HP: 330 HP
Thunder Whip: 190 dmg
Lightning Storm: 220 dmg + This attack deals 150 damage to all of your opponent's other creatures. You cannot use this attack if you used it the last turn.
Weakness: Fire / Resistance: Water

"Here's the next step in the chain," Agemo continued with a nasty grin. "I'll use the Spark Signal move card to summon another creature!"
An oviraptorid appeared. It screeched before disappearing in a great light. As the light dimmed, a nodosaur was revealed, slowly positioning itself in front of the Tobaryuu +.
Spark Signal

A Conchoraptor sounds a call. Summon another creature to your side of play. It gains Lightning as an additional element.

Pawpawsaurus

Element Earth
HP: 110
Electromagnetic Shield: If there is a Lightning-element creature in play, all of your opponent's attacks hit this creature.
Pawpaw Pummel: 50 dmg
Weakness: Wind / Resistance: Lightning

Alpha's spirit slowly faded. Now Agemo's + creature would defeat his creatures. Despite this, he did his best to keep a clear mind.
"I'm not giving up. Not even to what seems to be a strong opponent," Alpha said. "Citipati, go!"
An oviraptorid appeared next to Alpha's Acrocanthosaurus.
Citipati

Element Wind
HP: 40
Vengeful Spirit: When this card first reaches below 0 HP, return it to your hand instead. When you summon a creature next turn, summon this card at full HP.
Synch Slash: 20 HP + If there is a Fire-element creature on your side of play, when it attacks, you may also use this attack.
Weakness: Water / Resistance: Earth

"Ah, trying to keep a glimmer of hope huh?" Agemo said. "Well, no matter. You had no hope ever since my + creature hit the field. Now, Lightning Storm!"
"Bite and Synch Attack!" Alpha exclaimed.
The Acrocanthosaurus and Citipati charged at the Tobaryuu +. However, the Pawpawsaurus took the hit instead. As the nodosaurid faded away, grey clouds appeared above the battle. The sauropod bellowed as golden lightning struck the battlefield. A great explosion appeared inbetween the Acrocanthosaurus and the Citipati, and the field was covered in a cloud of dust.

Chapter 3
Don's Report

Tobaryuu +: 330 ; Pawpawsaurus: -30 HP (KO)
Acrocanthosaurus: -150 HP (KO) ; Citipati: 40 HP (returned to hand)

Agemo: 2 creatures, 1 move card
Alpha: 3 creatures, 1 move card

Uh oh, Agemo has his + creature out! Things don't look good for my buddy Alpha. Will he be able to win this battle?

The dust cleared, and the only creature remaining was Alpha's Tobaryuu +. It was clear that Alpha would lose this battle under normal circumstances.
All of a sudden, Alpha saw the top of a skyscraper explode. A wave of white energy spread like a wave through the sky. Suddenly an orb of white energy went into Alpha. The white-haired boy staggered for a bit before regaining himself.
"... Strange stuff happening," Agemo mused. "Whatever! That won't stop this battle. Tobaryuu +, pummel whatever is the weakest card with Thunder Whip when it comes out!"
The graceful sauropod prepared itself for another attack.
"Megaraptor, come into play!" Alpha said, throwing down a red & blue card. "In addition, thanks to Vengeful Spirit, Citipati comes back into play!"
An allosaur with large claws appeared on the field. Next to it, the Citipati reappeared.
Suddenly, Alpha's hand lit up. From thin air, a light-purple card appeared in his hand.
"Use the card," a voice in his head said.
"How do I use it?" Alpha asked in his mind, looking strangely at the mysterious card before him.
"Listen to what I say," the voice answered.
The voice began to speak words, and Alpha understood what to do.
"Agemo, watch what you are about to see!" Alpha said boastingly. "I'll take Megaraptor and Citipati, and I'll use them for the summoning of a great creature!"
Suddenly, the Megaraptor and Citipati transformed into orbs of glowing light. As Alpha threw down the light-purple card, the orbs went into the card, making an even bigger orb of light. The light formed a shape, before revealing a creature. This creature was unlike anything familiar to either Alpha or Agemo. The creature was a white dromaeosaur-like tyrannosaur with arcane black markings on its body. It had yellow slitted eyes and its head was topped with a flame that looked like a tuft of hair.
Alpha's eyes widened and his mouth gaped in awe. He could not believe that he summoned that. Agemo reacted in a similar manner.
"W-What is that thing?" Agemo asked, his voice fluttering with anxiety.
Looking straight at Agemo, Alpha grinned. His spirit was burning with great strength
"This is the genesis of a new level of Card Battling," Alpha said triumphantly. "Behold, my Genesis creature: Elysium Rex!"
Elysium Rex

Element Aether (Genesis creature)
HP: 140
Lingering Soul: If this card would be destroyed, remove a Component. Negate this card's destruction and restore it to full HP. This card cannot attack if this ability is used.
Spectral Strike: 110 dmg
Weakness: None / Resistance: None
*This card requires two creatures, one of which must be a Fire-element creature

"A Genesis creature?!" Agemo muttered in shock. "WHAT?!"
"As a Genesis creature, Elysium Rex gains the elements of its Components," Alpha explained. "That means my beastie's element is Fire and Wind!"
"Impressive, I have to say," Agemo said. "However, that little dino is still getting destroyed. Thunder Whip!"
"Not so fast," Alpha said. "I activate Lingering Soul and remove Citipati from Elysium Rex."
An orb of light came out of the Elysium Rex, and soon after the creature was glowing white. As the Tobaryuu +'s tail slapped the Elysium Rex, the attack simply went through the Genesis creature.
Don's Report

Tobaryuu +: 330 HP
Elysium Rex: 140 HP (1 Component left)

Agemo: 2 creatures, 1 move card
Alpha: 2 creatures, 1 move card

Whoa, that Genesis creature is AWESOME! Go Alpha!

"H-wha?!" Agemo gasped in shock. "Thunder Whip it again!"
"I'm afraid we're almost done," Alpha said triumphantly. "I'll have Elysium Rex activate the move card Rainbow Blaze!"
An Archaeopteryx appeared above the Genesis creature.
"Now, finish this battle Elysium Rex!" Alpha exclaimed triumphantly.
The Tobaryuu + whacked the tyrannosaur-like creature with its tail, but the Genesis creature did not fall. The Archaeopteryx burst into flame as it rammed into the sauropod and exploded. Then, the Elysium Rex's flame expanded; suddenly, it jumped into the air and spun, becoming a flaming disc.
"I believe it's over," Alpha said solemnly.
The Elysium Rex charged into the Tobaryuu +, consuming it into flame.
Don's Report

Tobaryuu +: -70 HP (KO)
Elysium Rex: 50 HP

Agemo: 0 creatures, 1 move card
Alpha: 2 creatures, 0 move cards

And with that, Alpha is the winner. Hooray! That was an amazing battle!

As Alpha heard Don cheering and Agemo grumbling, he suddenly felt his legs weakening. He fell to the ground, as his vision faded to black...

Chapter 4
Alpha saw himself surrounded by vast space. He saw stars twinkling in the distance.
"Where am I?" he asked out loud.
"We are in your mind," the voice from earlier answered. "I felt that being surrounded by the vast emptiness of the cosmos would help in the upcoming conversation."
"And that is...?" Alpha asked again.
"Let's start with introductions," the voice began. " I already know your name Alpha. As for me, my name is Auron."
"So what brings you here?" Alpha asked.
"My kind are from a dimension made of aether, the unearthly element," Auron explained. "There is an evil man who is obtaining massive amounts of aether for some grand plan. However, as you probably saw, there was an accident that caused all that aether to be released. The Genesis creatures are formed from this pure energy, and manifested into what you desire the most. In this case, Elysium Rex symbolizes a spark that makes your spirit shine again."
Alpha simply stood there. His new Genesis creature did make him feel more enthusiastic about Card Battling.
"So, what's the point of all this?" Alpha asked. "You just want me to stop some guy from abusing the aether?"
"That is it, yes," Auron answered solemnly. "Now, I believe it's time to bring you back to reality..."

Alpha woke up in a bed. He could see Don's face above him.
"Oh good, you're awake!" Don exclaimed joyfully. "Got worried there for a second."
"How long was I out?" Alpha asked.
"Only for a few hours," Don answered. "Don't worry though! Head on over to the kitchen. My big bro Chuck baked us some cookies."
Don quickly got out of the room.
"Well, this is certainly strange," Alpha thought. "Perhaps I'll understand the situation better later."

So, we finally see this new S&T you spoke of.

Interesting, very interesting. If I was a betting kind of person, I'd bet that the + creatures are evil, or somehow directly involved with the villains. I'd bet some other stuff too, but I'll just wait and see how things play out instead.

Thanks! Hopefully this S&T will see its completion.

As for + creatures, they're actually pretty neutral. However, throughout this S&T, there will be many more concepts that will be shown. One in particular is very important to the plot and will first be revealed by the third chapter.

Updated! The first half of the battle.
A note on + creatures

+ creatures are more powerful versions of normal creatures. A Battler would place a + creature on the corresponding creature, kind of like Lv. X Pokemon in the Pokemon TCG. When a + creature is defeated, 2 creature cards are deducted from that Battler's card total.

Updated!

A note on Genesis creatures

Genesis creatures are mysterious beings who require multiple creatures to become whole. The creatures used to summon a Genesis creature become its Components, and the Genesis creature's elements become that of its Components. These creatures are still in play, so when a Component is removed to fulfill an effect, a card is subtracted from the card total as if it was destroyed. + creatures cannot be used as the Components for Genesis creatures.

Yeah, Genesis creatures were inspired by Xyz's. When I saw the Woolly Mammoth, I chuckled to myself, 'cause it's one of the perfect ways to easily summon a Genesis creature.

Anyway, I updated again. Nothing going on, just plot.
