I would first like to point out, that though some characters are based off of members here, they are not ment to be the same in every little way. ;)

Intro:

In the year 2349, the planet Earth is hit by many small asteroids at both poles. The Arctic and Antarctic melt causing gloabal flooding, as a larger asteroid comes towards the Earth.

Year 2352; The asteroid causes massive damage, destroying many human cities, and causing the extinction of nearly all species on the planet that were able to survive the flooding.

Year 2356; Humans travel to what was once North America, forming many small towns across the muddy wasteland.

Year 2360; The Human towns combine their efforts and what little supplies they have as they have begun to build a giant metal city.

Year 2410; After much work and effort, the human's city is suitable for living in, as the remaining work on it is finished.

Year 2412; The human city, named Cratilis, is completed, and becomes air born, floating above the land.

Year 2414; Humans living in Cratilis prosper, while the poor remain in the small towns. Scientists begin working on a way to restore Earth to it's former state.

Year 2415; A scientist creates a device to recreate any creature, be it real, or simply myth. The machine works, but for reasons no one knows, the creatures made are transformed into strange cards.

Year 2416; The machine is bought by a rich buisness man, and the cards begin being distributed for use in a card game.

Year 2417; The card game becomes a hit, turning into an industry, and a stadium for battling in is built...

Part 1

March 19th, Year 2421: Cratalis City, Tenko Stadium

The beautiful yellow metal walls of the stadium shimered in the sun light, and the seemingly endless stands were fully packed with cheering people.
"Alright, and now it's time for the battle we've all been waiting for!" The announcers voice said loudly throughout the stadium, as the fans grew excited.
"Let me introduce the first battler! You know him, you love him, give it up for the global champion, Steven Tenko!" The anouncer's voice bellowed, as the fans chered.
Down on a floating platform inside the center of the stadium, a man dressed in a gold coved robe and hood appeared. He fliped back his hoold to show his slender face, and blonde hair as he spoke into a radio that sat along the side of his face from his ear.
"Get ready for the biggest battle you've ever seen!" The blonde man, Steven, shouted out, sending the crowds into a frenzy of cheers.
"And now for Steven's opponent, ranked 2nd in the world, and going for 1st, Carl Walters!" The annoucer announced.
On another floating platform, across from the first, appeared a man in blue pants, a grey shirt, and a black cape, and with black hair topping his head.
"This one's for all my female fans out there!" Carl shouted through his radio.
"And...let the battle for the championship begin!" The announcer's voice excliamed out to everyone in the stadium.
"Armoredillo, Earthquake!" Steven shouted as he threw a brown card out into the center opf the field.
In mid-air the card glowed and changed into the form of an armored creature of mutant origins. The beast dug into the ground imidiatly, dissappearing below.
"Andrewsarchus, Bite!" Carl yelled as he threw a blue card the same way Steven had.
This card also transformed into a creature, but intstead, it was what looked like a giant dog of some sort. The Armoredillo burst out from, the ground behind the Andrewsarchus, and slamed it's front foot down to the ground. The floor shook and the Andrewsarchus stumbled around. The Armoridillo was about to go back underground just as the ground stoped shaking, but before it could, felt the jaws of the Andrewsarchus around it's neck. The Armoridillo turned back into a card, and flew across the battle field to Steven.

The battle continued, and now on the field stood one creature, a Minotaur, roaring as it slamed it's hammer to the ground. On his platform, Steven stood, shocked, as his final card returned to him.
"And can you belive it folks! We have a new champion! Carl Walters has won!" The announcers voice bellowed across the stadium.
Carl grined as his Minotaur's card returned to him. He was now the world champion.

Part 2

Yinsu, Small Town near Lake Loral

The small, rugged town sat on the muddy barren landscape of Earth, near the browned waters of Lake Loral. Out of one of the many wooden houses, a man steped out. He wore a torn, brown cloak with the hood off his head. He had black, messy hair, though recently cleaned. His face was fairly plain in appearance, if it weren't for a scar on his left cheek.
"Leiu! Leiu!" The voice of a young shouted as she ran up to the man.
Her hair was brown, and messy, but not recently cleaned like the man's. And her face was soft, giving off a peacful aura. The clothes she wore were a blue t-shit and grey shorts, both dirty and worn.
"Are you leaving?" She asked the man, who was Leiu, when she reached him.
"Yes, Kailah. I'm going to Cratalis. We're running low on money, so I intend to enter the tournament being held soon." He explained to her.
"Be careful, brother." Kailah said, huging Leiu.
Whe she let go, Leiu slimed to his sister, and began walking away from the house.

"Last shuttle to Cratalis for the day!" A man wearing a yellow uniform shouted next to what looked like a small, grey, metal plane of some sort.
Three people entered the shuttle, the last of them being Leiu. Leiu walked down the asile in the shuttle, choosing one of the worn-out chusioned seats to sit on.
"Prepare for take off!" A voice shouted from the front of the shuttle.
Then the machine began to make a humming noise, and then began to lift directly up off the ground for thirty seconds. Then with a high-pitched squeal, the shuttle began to move forwards, on course to Cratilis.

----------

Part 3

Leiu walked out of the shuttle which had now docked at its destination, Cratalis. Metal towers of silver and gold coloring reached up to the clouds, towering above the busy streets. Compaired to the streets of cities before the asteroid, there were very few cars, and much more people walking. Leiu didn't stop to take in the sights as he had been here once before, also for a tournment. Knowing his way to the stadium, he continued on his way.

Leiu entered the stadium through a set of glass doors. The reception room was filled with many people, from fans to battlers, all doing something, or going somewhere. Leiu looked up ahead of him to where a large clock was perched above the sign-up desk.
"Only five minutes left." Leiu said to himself, acknowledging how little time he had.
Leiu weaved through the crowd of people at a quick pace, wasting no time until he tripped on something he didn't see. He landed on the floor, the hood of his cloak coming off his head, and cards falling out of a small case at his waist. Getting to his knees Leiu wasted no time picking the cards up.
"Eighteen, Nineteen...?" Leiu counted the cards as he returned them to their case, but one was missing.
"Is this yours, sonny?" The voice of an old man said from above Leiu.
Leiu looked up to see an old man with white hair and long beard, clothed in a ragged dust-colored t shirt and shorts. The man had his hand reached out, holding a wind attributed card.
"Why, yes, it is." Leiu said getting to his feet and greatfully taking the card and putting it away.
"You aren't from around here, eh? Here to enter the tournament?" The old man asked.
"No, and yes. You aren't from around here eithre, I'd guess." Leiu replied.
"No, no I'm not. Well, you had better get to your tournament, so long!" The old man said with a chuckle before walking off.
Leiu watched him for a few seconds, but then rembered what time it was, and contiuded to the sign-up desk.

Part 4

A man wearinga red t-shirt and blue jeans walked down a long gold-colored hall, carrying a bowl of soup. His hair was black, and his build was solid. Throughout the hall he was walking in were closed doors, hidding the rooms behind them. He stoped as he heard a sound come from one of the rooms.
"Is that Carl?" He thought, pushing his ear to the door to confirm his guess.
"Well, Jess, every thing is going as planed. Now that I'm the champion, I can go and retrive that card. With it, I'll be unstopable!" Carl's voice said, finishing with a evil laugh.
"That card? What does he...could it be? I need to tell Steven right away!" The man thought before speeding down the halls as fast as he could without spilling the soup he carried.

Steven sat leaned back in a chuishioned chair infront of a tv showing his recent defeat.
"of all the people I thought could beat me, Carl was the last I ever expected would do so." Steven said to himself, still shocked by the outcome yesterday's battle had.
"Well, I supose I'd eventually lose my title at some point. All I can do now is practice and win it back." Steven continued, more acepting of the lose.
Just then, the door of the small room flung open and closed as the man who had been in the hall walked in.
"Steven, I think Carl's up to somthing!" The man said as he sat the soup down on a table and walked over to Steven.
"What do you mean, Dan?" Steven said while sitting up in his chair.
"I over heard him talking to Cratalis's piolt, Jess. He said something about retriving a card now that he was the champion." Dan told Steven.
"D*** it! That power mad fool is going after the apocalypse card I hid!" Steven exclaimed, jumping out of his chair.
"Apocalypse card?" Dan asked.
"As you know, my father is the one who owns the card creator. A year or so ago, it made some...strange cards with attributes unlike any other. These cards were imidetly taken note as highly dangerous, and hidden. It was decided that skilled battlers would hid them and gaurd them. One of these people was the champion. As the current champion at the time, I hid one of those cards. As gaurding it is the champion's job, the chapmion has acess to a map showing where it is." Steven said, stoping for a beath at the end.
"So Carl's going after that card..." Dan replied.
"Yes, he is. I'll need to beat him there to stop him. The problem is, I can't quite remember it's exact location. I hid it somewhere near Yinsu at Lake Loral." Steven explained.
"Might you be able to find it with help of someone who knows the area?" Dan asked.
"Maybe, but who?" Steven answered.
As if on que, the voice of the annoucer came from the TV.
"And now it's time for the final battle of today's unranked battler tournament! And our first finalist is Lieu Kamatu from Yinsu..." The voice bellowed, while Steven grined.

----------

Part 5

"...And our second finalist, Albert Randar, from our very own Cratalis!" The announcer’s voice told all the fans who howled through the arena.
On one of the platforms Lieu stood with his hood off. On the other platform was his opponent, a younger man who wore grey and white clothing, and had hair that was black with a white stripe.
"Alright, let's start this battle!" The announcer decreed.
"My move, and I play Reindeer! Use Present or Coal, and be ready to use Antler Tackle!” Albert said as he threw his card onto the field.
“And Albert starts off with a risky move! If he gets coal, his reindeer is down without a fight!” The announcer said to the crowd as Albert’s card had now formed into a reindeer.
It stood on the field with a glow of light above its head. After a few seconds the glow turned into a present box, exploding into a shower of sparkling light.
“Interesting move, but it will take more than that. Goragon, Stealthy Senses and Slashing Talons.” Lieu said calmly, as he dropped his card out onto the field.
The card hadn’t even landed yet, and the reindeer had begun its charge at it. The reindeer ran clean through where the card was, never hitting anything. Without warning, claws ripped across its chest, and then across its back as Leius’ Goragon flipped itself over its prey. As it flew over the ungulate, it grabbed onto the back of its neck with toothy jaws. As the Goragon landed, the Reindeer was now get flipped over and thrown through the air. It stopped as it slammed into the wall of the battle area, creating a cloud of dust, only penetrated by a stream of light that flew to Albert.
“And in one savage move, Albert is down his first creature!” The announcer shouted to the many cheering fans.

“You’re good for someone out of town, but not good enough.” Albert shrugged. “Troodon, claw slash! And… move card, Trick Of Theives!” Albert finished as he threw out two cards at the Goragon.
“Goragon, Stealthy Senses and Slashing Talons! Don’t back down!” Lieu ordered
On the Goragons’ back now appeared a Trodoon, slashing away with its toe claws. With a shake the Trodoon was now knocked off. But as the Goragon prepared to lunge, a Buireraptor appeared bent over on the field. In one swift move, it stood up right and stretched out its arms, blinding the arena in a surge of light. When the light was gone a second latter, so was the Buireraptor, and now where Troodon had been, and where the Goragon was slashing away, stood a stegosaurus.
“Oh, and we have just seen an excellent move pulled off here! For those of you who aren’t sure what just happened, let me explain. Albert used the move card Trick of Thieves, which switches out the creature using it after attacking, if it would be defeated by the opponents’ attack. Furthermore, Goragon is now paralyzed, and is helpless as it is taken down in one go.” The announcer said excitedly.
Sure enough, there was nothing Lieus’ Goragon could do as it was knocked away by a swing of the Stegosaurus’ tail.

“Gurath, Pick Pocket his attack, and his move card!” Leiu ordered as he threw his card onto the field, which grew into the reptilian form of a Gurath.
“Nice attempt trying to get a type advantage, but not happening. Stegosaurus, retreat, and give way to Troodon, who shall call the pack together!” Albert responded as he threw out his card which took on the shape and being of a Troodon.
With a few loud screams from Albert’s Troodon , three beams of light shot onto the field from his hand, and they too formed into Troodons.
“Now, Claw Slash!” Albert commanded.
The Troodon began to circle the Gurath, which stood still as it kept its eyes open and on the four dinosaurs. The Trodoon began to make fake-lunges towards the Gurath, preparing to launch their true attack. Finally, one of them made the move, jumping into the air at the Gurath. Then, SMACK! The Gurath swung its tail at the attacker, and sent it flying into the arena wall. Though shocked and surprised, the other Troodon quickly began leaping at the Gurath. The three Trodoon landed on their target and began ripping away at it. But something was wrong…VERY wrong. First of all, what they had landed on was much bigger than a Gurath, and second of all, Gurath don’t have feathers. No, it was not a Gurath that the Trodoon had attacked, but a large bird with feathers that shined in the light.

The look on Albert’s face was one that is hard to describe. It was something between shock, surprise, confusing, disgust, and also quite possibly the urge to give Lieu “The Finger”. Lieu simply grined.
“What the heck?!?!...” Albert said still not aware of what happened.
As if Albert had just signaled him, the announcer began to speak.
“It would seem that Lieu just used his Guraths’ Pick Pocket ability to not only copy Stegosaurus’ tail swing, but also Albert’s Trick of Thieves, and as such, was able to send out Alicanto. And as Alicanto is on the field, it means that neither player is able to play lighting or fire attributed cards, as well as move cards.”
“Not bad for someone out of town, huh?” Lieu said as he was still grinning from ear-to-ear.
“Don’t get too confident, your bird’s going down. Stegosaurus, Tail Swing!” Albert responded as he once again brought out his Stegosaurus.
Just like Lieus’ Goragon, there was nothing that could be done to stop the Stegosaurs’ tail.
“And now, be prepared, for whatever you play next will also get a taste of Tail Swing.” Albert taunted.
“Well, you’ve really got me in a corner here. But the battle must go on. Reindeer, go get ‘em” Lieu sighed.
“Not going to call an attack?” Albert questioned.
“Why would I attack? What would that do? Not very much. Look at your field, you have four creatures out. And then look at my side, with only one creature, which is weak against three of yours.” Lieu smiled.
“…There’s no way you have…” Albert began.
“One card, two words. Aqua Devastator.” Lieu said as he let his move card drop from his hand.
“Raise the shields! Raise the shields!!!” The announcer yelled in a panic.
As Lieus’ card hit the field, glass-like shields rose around the crowd as well as Lieu and Albert.
Suddenly from where the card landed exploded a blast of water which turned the battle area into a giant whirlpool, sucking in all the creatures on the field. Then from amongst the swirling waters a titanic Predator X with jaws wide open jumped at each of the struggling creatures, splashing water out onto the shields, and once even slammed into the shields. Soon it disappeared, and the whirlpool dissipated, and beams of light shot up to both Albert and Lieu.

----------

Part 6

“Okay, now, while the shields are lowered, let’s recap the standings.” The announcer began. “Right now, both competitors have used one of their move cards each, and Albert has four creatures remaining, while Lieu, who is leading right now, has seven remaining.”
“Let’s try and finish this up soon, okay? Here, I’ll let my Chinese Dragon help you out with its Mystic Blaze.” Lieu said as he threw one of his cards onto the field, which turned into a Chinese Dragon, twisting and turning in circles.
“Oh yes, you will indeed be helping. Turkey, Vicious Peck, if you would.” Albert chuckled as he threw out his own card, which became an un-intimidating Turkey.
For the crowd, this was probably a hilarious sight. On one hand, there’s a deadly, but majestic, fire-breathing magic serpent, while on the other hand, here’s this much smaller turkey, acting as if there’s no danger at all. As the dragon let lose a jet of fire on the bird, it thought it had an easy meal. So it was probably rather pissed when the turkey jumped up and started pecking at its face.
“Retreat.” Lieu sighed. “Brontornis, Bite and Slash.” Lieu finished as his dragons’ card returned, and he threw out another card in its place, which became a Brontornis.
“Vicious Peck, and move card, Cushioned Prank.” Albert said as he threw out another card to the field.
The turkey was actually quick to start pecking at the Brontornis’ foot, but the Brontornis was also quick to crush the turkey with its beak, as the sound of a whoopie cushion could be heard throughout the stadium.

“Now that is just plain rude…” Lieu said as he waved his hand in front of his nose.
“Lucky for you, your Brontornis is paralyzed. So, Coelophysis, it is show time.” Albert said triumphantly as he sent another card out to the field, this time becoming a coelophysis.
“And because of its ability, Relay Hunting I can play two more Coelophysis. And on top of that, I’ll use the move card Static Energy on my first Coelophysis.” Albert continued as he sent out three more cards, two of which became Coelophysis, and the third causing the first Coelophysis to be covered in static electricity.
“Now, all three will attack with Snap-Strike, thanks to the rest of the Relay Hunting ability!” Albert added.
Swift and quick, the trio of primitive dinosaurs moved in and began snapping at the Brontornis’ legs.
“And you should also know that thanks to Static Energy, any card my first Coelophysis attacks becomes paralyzed the next turn! Which means you’re unable to stop me!” Albert laughed like an evil villan.
Lieu said nothing, and watched turn after turn as his Brontornis was slowly defeated.

“So, what now?” Albert laughed.
“Chinese Dragon, use Mystic Blaze, and aim for his first Coelophysis!” Lieu commanded as he once again released his dragon.
His dragon released its fire, but instead of hitting the first Coelophysis, one of the others got in the way.
“Fool. You did take out one of my Coelophysis, but not the one you wanted to. Know why? The first Coelophysis, the one with Static Energy, can’t be attacked while another card with the same name as it is on my side of the field. Too bad for your dragon, it will feel the slow pain of many Snap-Strikes.” Albert laughed.
Once again, Lieu remained silent as his creature was slowly defeated. At this point, the announcer and crowd watching the battle were still surprised by the come-back Albert was making.
“Turkey, Vicious Peck.” Lieu sighed as he let his card drop to the field and become a Turkey.
“Now you aren’t even trying, come on! Snap-Strike!” Albert said with confidence in his winning the battle.
One attack and it was over for the turkey…
“Ornithocerius, use Circle Prey.” Lieu said as he sent out another card, this time turning into the pterosaur Ornithocerius.
“This is getting boring real fast, you know? Snap-Strike.” Albert sighed.
For yet another time, Lieus’ card was defeated.

“Are you going to give up, or do I have to keep waiting all day?” Albert asked as Lieu began to grin.
“Static Energy… it can only be used by the lightning element, right?” Lieu chuckled.
“So?” Albert responded.
“I play Griffin, and I’ll have it use Dive-Bomb. But I’m also going to use the move card, Eye of the Hurricane.” Lieu said as he threw two cards out onto the field.
“Raise the shields!!! The shields!!!” The announcer began to panic.
Lieus’ cards hit the ground and the first became a Griffin, the second caused the wind in the arena to start to swirl around into a hurricane, growing and swallowing up the stadium.
“No!!!” The announcer cried as the shied around his announcers’ box was yet to be fully raised. A stray gust of wind came in, and blew the announcers’ wig off his head.
“Now because of Eye of the Hurricane, all of our cards are one-hundred percent pure wind attribute, meaning your Static Energy can’t be used.” Lieu told Albert.
At the same time, Lieus’ Griffin was swinging a Coelophysis around like a rag doll, and the other Coelophysis was making a useless attempt to rip the Griffin apart.
“I’ll be honest with you, Albert, I had this all figured out after you stopped my dragon. There are two reasons I let you defeat those other cards. First of all to make you over-confident, and also to power up my final attack. Now, my Griffin will use Dive-Bomb, powered up by the effect of my move card, Ghostly Wind.” Lieu grinned, throwing his move card into the air.
Now Lieus move card had turned into a Ramphorhnychus, and his Griffin had flew up to a high altitude, amongst the swirling winds. Then the Griffin began to make a dive towards the final Coelophysis, and the Ramphorhnychus started causing an immense flow of wind. That gust of wind then speed up the Griffin, as it closed on its target.
“This is what two-hundred-and-twenty points of damage looks like!” Lieu shouted as his Griffin ripped through the Coelophysis like it was paper. The crowd was cheering, and the announcer looked unprepared as he began to speak, his wig only half on.
“And the winner of this tournaments’ final round is Lieu Kamatu of Yinsu! He will now be moving up into rank 1!”

Part 7

“What’s taking so long?” Kailah said to herself as she tapped her foot on the dirt ground.
Hearing a rumbling noise, she turned her head towards the distant sky where the shape of a transport shuttle was coming into view. Kailah squinted her eyes to make out the shape in front of the rising sun.
“About time.” She sighed.

Around five minutes later, the shuttle had landed and is doors opened. Kailah watched everyone who came off, but to her disappointment, Lieu wasn’t on the shuttle. As she turned around to leave, she quickly spun back as someone spoke.
“Urk!” A old man with messy white hair and a long beard cursed as he tripped out of the shuttle with two large bags.
He got back up and began trying to pick up his bags, but he simply feel back down on his next step.
“Do you need help with those?” Kailah asked as she tilted her head.
“Uh, well….yes, if you’re offering to help.” The old man responded.
Kailah went over and picked up one bag, and the old man picked up the other. Kailah noticed the bag wasn’t all that heavy, more awkward than anything.
“Where to?” Kailah asked as they started to move along.
“My farm. It’s just a short ways out of town.” The old man answered.

The two of them had traveled out of town a fair ways now, and as the ground became lower, it also became wetter and muddy. There really wasn’t anything special here, save for some batches of water reeds here and there. Though as they walked a bit farther, there became more plant life, one of which Kailah recognized as rice. Wild rice was very rare, but farmed rice was rather common due to the fact it grows well in wet areas, making it a perfect crop under the circumstances.
“We’re here.” The old man said as he used his head to point out a small wooden house perched on a small hill in the middle of the plant life.

Reaching the house both Kailah and the old man put down their bags next to the door.
“Why thank ya, missy. Now, lets’ see, I think I have something I can give you. Just wait two seconds…” The old man said before disappearing into the house. He returned in a minute and handed something to Kailah. Kailah took it, and her eyes grew wide realizing what it was.
“This, this is an entire decks’ worth of cards!” Kailah said with surprise.
“Yep, sure is.” The old man said with a chuckle.
“But, how did you get these. I mean…” Kailah responded, still not sure what to make of this.
“I have many more where those came from. I’ve been collecting cards for ages, what I just gave you isn’t even a dint in my collection.” The old man answered.
“Well, thank you. Err, what’s your name?” Kailah asked.
“The name’s Omar.” He told Kailah.
“Thank you, Omar. I’m Kailah, by the way.” Kailah responded.
“Well, Kailah, if you want to learn how to use those cards properly, feel free to stop around tomorrow and I’ll give ya some lessons.” Omar said.
“Really? Thank you. I’d better get going now though, bye.” Kailah said as she left.
“I’ll be seeing you tomorrow then!” Omar chuckled as he waved to her.

Part 8

Lieus’ eyes opened to the buzzing sound of an alarm clock. He sat up in the bed had had slept on, nothing extraordinary, but compared to what he was used to, it was like sleeping on a cloud. The room he had rented for the night was small, but well-kept like just about everything in Cratalis. Lieu wasted no time to get ready and leave his room. He needed to get to the shuttle station to catch the first flight back to Yinsu.
“Lieu Kamatu.” A voice said from behind Lieu as he began to walk down the hall. Spinning around Lieu was face to face with a man around the same age, but tall, and sturdy in build.
“Yes?” Lieu answered, preparing to dodge a thieves’ blow, a skill which Lieu had found to be more than useful.
“I’m Dan, Dan Flame. My friend, Steven, would like your help with something.” The man introduced himself.
“What sort of help?” Lieu asked cautiously.
Dan’s eyes darted back and forth looking around before he answered.
“This…isn’t the place to talk. Come meet me and Steven at this location in half an hour.” Dan said as he handed a business card to Lieu, and then snuck away.
Lieu read the card.

“ROOM 13, ROYALTY BLOCK 2,
RESIDENT: STEVEN TENKO”

Lieu was suddenly interested, but at the same time confused. What reason did the ex- card battle champion want with him, and furthermore, what is it that must be kept secret? Lieu had two options, go home, or go see Steven. Most any other time, Lieu might have gone home, but Lieu had seen enough con-guys to know that Dan’s behavior was not that of someone trying to pull a fast one. He would go, but he would be prepared, Lieu thought, as he put his hand on his pants pocket, the form of a knife inside.

Lieu walked up to a door along a long hallway. Checking the card he had been given, and then the numbers on the door, he confirmed this was the place. He knocked on the door. Then it opened and Dan’s head reached out to look.
“Good, it’s you. Come on in, quickly, before anyone sees.” Dan said as he pulled Lieu inside.
“You battled well yesterday.” A man in the center of the room said. It was Steven.
“From you, I’ll take that as quite the compliment.” Lieu answered keeping a neutral face.
Steven sighed.
“Well, I’ll cut to the chase. I sort of need your help to find a card.” Steven told Lieu.
“Okay, but why do you need me.” Lieu asked.
“It’s somewhere near Yinsu, I have a rough idea where it is, but I need someone to help narrow it down.” Steven answered.
“Fair enough, but, If you don’t mind me asking, what card is it?” Lieu questioned.
“Meteor, an apocalypse card, belonging to the three super-attributes. I was the one who hid it, but now I fear someone is headed there as we speak.” Steven explained.
Lieu took a second to determine if he was being told a fairy tale, but then let that thought go. If Steven had came to him for help, a lowly, rank 1 battler from Yinsu, then something weird was going on.
“Now, who exactly is it that is after the card?” Lieu asked.
“Carl Walters…” Steven growled.
“And this apocalypse card, how much damage could it do…” Lieu asked
“How much damage do you think an atomic bomb does?” Dan responded.
Lieu’s eyes grew big.
“If it has that much power… well, let’s just say I meet Carl once a long time ago. I think its best we keep him away from that card.” Lieu answered.
“Alright then, glad to have your help. I’ll call up to the hanger and tell them to get my shuttle ready for us.” Steven told them.
“I’ll stay behind and keep an eye on things here. You two get going.” Dan said as Lieu and Steven left the room, Steven giving a nod of approval.

Part 9

Carl walked up to the mouth of a cave as he examined his surroundings. The area was rocky, and shadows from the setting sun covered the land.
“It should be right in here.” Carl said to himself as he checked a map.
Carl then walked into the darkness of the cave. The cave walls where moist, and there was very little light as Carl got farther into the cave. That’s when Carl heard something, something odd. Clip-clop, clip-clop, clip-clop; the sound of horse hooves on rock.
“ Foolish mortal, are you worthy to wield the power of an apocalypse?” A low a booming voice echoed through the cave.
“I am the champion, so yes, I am worthy.” Carl responded.
“Hmph, you may pass then, and collect the card.” The voice answered, before the sound of horse hooves started again, and then soon was gone.

“From what you’ve told me, this should be the place.” Lieu said from the back seat of Stevens’ shuttle as he began to step out onto the ground.
“It does seem familiar anyways.” Steven began as he too got out of the shuttle.
“Carl’s here.” Lieu said as he gestured to a few footprints by the caves’ entrance.
“Take a flashlight.” Steven said as he tossed one over to Lieu.
“What are we in for in Carl gets to the card first?” Lieu asked as he caught the flashlight and began walking into the cave.
“Anything before the K-T extinction is instantly doomed worse than a dodo on a chopping block, for starters. It has a strong attack, and a good chunk of hp to boot.” Steven told him.
“Interesting…” Lieu said as the two of them walked deeper into the cave.

“This is the back of the cave, it should be here.” Steven said as they entered a large room with no other exits.
“Heh, it took you long enough.” A voice said from the back of the room.
“Carl.” Steven said as he turned towards the source of the sound.
“I figured you’d show up. And who better for me to test my new toy out on than you?” Carl grinned.
“Watch it, you just warmed the air in here up a few degrees each time you opened you mouth.” Lieu informed Carl.
“Oh, now aren’t we so smart. You had best not insult those who can kill you in an instant.” Carl responded.
“Clearly not by means of your looks.” Lieu chuckled.
“Enough! You both end here! Meteor, rise!” Carl roared as he threw a card in the air. The card began to take form, breaking through the ceiling of the cave in doing so.
“Bow or be destroyed!” Carl shouted.
“If that’s how it is, I’ll gladly destroy you, Carl.” Steven answered.

Part 10

“Pheonix, Fire Spin!” Steven shouted as he threw a card at the hovering meteor. The card soon burst into the flaming form of a phoenix, spinning into the meteor.
“Fool! That is nothing! Moas’ Blessing shall negate the damage you dealt, and now, I will attack using Meteors’ Elemental Disaster!” Carl responded as he threw a card out onto the battle area.
The card took form into and Moa, which released a wave of strange sparkling glitter around the Meteor. Then flames formed around the Meteor, and sudden intense heat and pressure slammed the Pheonix down onto the ground, cracking the floor and turning the burning bird back into a card. Steven gritted his teeth in frustration.
“Steven…” Lieu said, about to step into the battle.
“No, not yet.” Steven answered as he held his arm out to keep Lieu back. “Now, Spink, use Dig!” Steven added as he threw his own card into play, which disappeared into the ground.
“Coward.” Carl spat, unable to do anything.
“I can’t do much either, in case you forgot.” Steven responded.
Carl growled impatiently. Nothing was happening on the field, nothing at least until the small form of a Spink emerged from the ground.
“Now, Chinese Dragon, Mystic Blaze!” Steven shouted as he sent out another card.
“Such a weak attempt, My Astro Armor shall block it!” Carl chuckled as he threw a card towards his Meteor.
As the fire from the dragon hit the Metor, a silver cover formed around the giant rock.
“What…?!?!” Steven said as he stepped back.
“Oh, you didn’t expect that, did you? Astro Armor is a powerful move card, which blocks attacks weaker than five-hundred damage. It only works for Meteor, and can you believe I got it as a gift from Jessica?” Carl laughed, knowing he had Steven cornered.
“Eudimorphidon, use the move card Swarming Flock!” Lieu interrupted Carls enjoyment by throwing two cards into the air. The first turned intio a Eudimorphidon, and the second became a glowing light. Then six cards flew out of Lieus’ hand and into the sir, forming into Eudimorphidons as well.
“That was…a waste.” Carl sighed as the seven pterosaurs were instantly destroyed by the effect or Meteor.
“Lieu, what the heck are you doing?” Steven asked.
“Roll with it.” Lieu answered, flashing a card in his hand.
“Alright then.” Steven answered
“Enough blabbering. Meteor, destroy Chinese Dragon!” Carl ordered, his Meteor doing as asked.
Just as the Pheonix had been, the dragon was brutally crushed.
“Griffin, you’re up! But before the attack, I activate the ability of Merlins’ Tree from my hand. By sacrificing it, Lieu or I can use a second move card this turn. And now I activate the move card, Eye of the Hurricane. Finally, I end my turn by Griffin using Dive-Bomb!” Steven shouted as he sent out his card.
One card turned into a glowing silhouette of a tree, and then shattered into an orb of light that floated above Stevens’ shoulder. Another spouted up into a hurricane, engulfing the cave in harsh winds. The third then turned into a Gryphon, which dove into the Meteor but simply deflected off.
“So? That weak attempt is nothing!” Carl said in response to Stevens move.
“But I think you forgot about me, because Steven just set me up for the killing move.” Lieu responded back. “Now I play Pegasus, and activate its ability, Winged Steed. This ability means that I can give it a rider in the form of an intelligent creature. And I’m sending out a Gurath on it! Next, Guraths’ Pick-Pocket ability can copy your Meteors’ Elemental Disaster attack. Next I activate the move card Ghostly Winds, which tanks to Stevens’ Eye of the Hurricane, will give a 200 damage boost to my attack. Finally, I’ll use the ability of Stevens’ tree to use a second move card; Power Axe!” Lieu listed out as he sent out his cards.
The first two took the form of a Pegasus, and ridding it a Gurath. The next card took form of a Ramphornychus flying next to the currently ground-based Pegasus and Gurath. Then the final card combined with the light near Stevens shoulder, and then in the Guraths’ hands took form of an axe.
“Power Axe can only be used by an intelligent creature capable of using tools, and gives a one-time attack boost of 100 damage. And that should put the damage from my attack right at the breaking point of your move card! So, Pegasus and Gurath, attack using Elemental Disaster!” Lieu ordered.
The Ramphornychus rapidly flapped its wings, causing wind to swirl around the Guraths’ Axe. Then the Pegasus Leaped up into the air, streams of flame forming around it.
“You aren’t getting out of it alive though, you little rodent! Meteor, Elemental Disaster!” Carl angrily roared.
Now Carls’ Meteor began sprouting out its own lines of flame as it hurtled toward the flying duo, but instead, Stevens Griffin flew in the way, getting crushed in the wake of the Meteor.
“Even that isn’t happening, Carl. Griffins’ Guardian ability means you can only attack it.” Steven calmly explained.
At the same time, Lieus’ Pegasus and Gurath were nearly at the Meteor. The Gurath swung forth its axe with a swirl of wind, and put a large crack in the space rock. Then the two creatures literally plowed through it, instantly shattering the Meteor, and the roof of the cave, letting in moon light. As well, with the Griffin gone, so was the hurricane. Now the Pegasus and Gurath returned to the ground, the axe disappearing from the crocodilian creatures’ hands.

This is GREAT so far! :D And I just noticed:

Steven Tenko's initials = ST

Carl Walters' initials = CW

If what I'm thinking is happening, I wonder what name I'll have in this story... ^_^

I'm guessing the first name will be Zack or something like that, although last names can pretty much be unlimited, so.....
However, that is epic DF. Perhaps we might just call the "real" card battles ship Cratalis...

Thank you Sigma!

I was hoping someone would say that!

As for the next part...I'm not sure. It depends how much time I have, and if it includes a battle or not. ;)
