Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

Well she does contradict herself, bearing in mind I know little about what she has actually said but from what I have read she is against influence from Wall Street yet she has earned in excess of a million dollars from doing speeches at Wall Street and she receives hundreds of thousands of dollar from Wall Street companies.

Also she supported the Iraq War, which is a reason to be against any politician.
Doing Wall Street speeches is something literally almost every politician has ever done in recent memory. The amount of money Secretary Clinton has made from said speeches is well within the average.

As a supporter of Bernie Sanders, I preferred a candidate who disavowed this common practice. But at the end of the day, with this issue, you have to hate the game, not the player.

And with the Iraq War vote, it was a 77-23 vote in the Senate. Even 58% of the Democratic caucus voted for the war. Voting against the war shows above average foresight, voting for the war didn't show below average. Furthermore, representing New York state, I think it would have been even more challenging to oppose the war. Your constituents were attacked on 9/11, and the Bush Administration (mostly incorrectly) linked those attacks with the Iraq regime. All in all, again, I supported Senator Sanders over Clinton for the reasons you cite — but I can forgive her mistakes when I look at the whole picture.

I mean, I was am ardent of Bernie Sanders and look, we can point out all her flaws. But at the end of the day, it is much better than electing a egomaniac fascist for President. Period.

Ms. Bombastic

At the end of the day, I'm not against established politics enough to vote for someone that has criticized both my ethnicity and my gender.

I would say voting against the war showed that you were against an illegal war and that you were against a war that eventually would've and did kill hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians; rather than just having above average foresight.

Okay, but yeah, Iraq was a fucking colossal fuck up. Anyone and everyone in their right mind knows that.

But being a single issue voter about the Iraq war from... 15 years ago is a little absurd.

Yes, HRC voted for Iraq. She was the Senator for NY. Given the political climate at the time after everything just happened, I can understand the Congressional Delegation from NY to be a little more hawkish than others. There are a handful of good, liberal, progressive Senators still in their seats that voted for it. They, too, have admitted their mistake and said they wish they could change it. I'd much rather have someone say "Yeah, I voted for this but, in retrospect, it was mistake and I wish I could take it back" than otherwise. I can respect a change of heart and the intelligence and integrity to admit your mistakes.

To be fair, at the time my two Senators Graham and Nelson split. Nay/Aye respectfully. Graham is no longer in Office, but Nelson is. Nelson is not a progressive Democrat, but he's a Democrat who carries Florida by large margins and is slightly-to-the-left-of-center. He made a mistake. He wouldn't vote that way again. But I'll vote for him every time he runs for office because he's a good Senator who represents Florida well.

Remember when I was famous? Neither do I.

I'd hope that all of Trump's horrible obvious flaws outweigh the perceived flaws of Clinton. I hope.

As for the Iraq War thing, I don't really know if you can blame someone for voting for that war. Hindsight is 20-20 and, knowing what we know now (and what lies were spun), I think the vast majority would vote against if it happened again. Either way the optics would have looked terrible for HRC if she voted against. Would not have helped her in her state.

Yeah I agree with what you say about Iraq.

I think that Hillary should become president because if Trump became president then we're all pretty fucked. I am not sure that I could live in a world where Boris Johnson is the Foreign Secretary and Donald Trump is the president, just imagine those two together representing NATO and the West...

I didn't see that, well that sort of ruins the entire point of a defensive alliance.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the US pull out of the UN if he became president.

He might try but at this point its pretty much customary international law that its impossible to completely exit the UN. Indonesia did it a couple of decades ago and then basically just came back without a big deal because from the view of the UN they hadnt really left to begin with.

Plus, the U.N. Headquarters are in New York, so I imagine the meetings would get a little awkward. :P

I imagine theyd move it to one of the subsidiary regional HQs in, correct me if Im wrong, Geneva, Vienna, or Nairobi. Probably the one in Geneva because its the Palace of Nations first build for the League of Nations, so its got history.

I doubt that the UN would relocate to Geneva because Geneva is just overrun with international organisations and logistics for hotels etc... are already a problem.

If you give this mouse a cookie, she'll probably ask for some cheese.

Doonesbury was ahead of the game and had predicted a Trump candidacy in 1987.

Oh, when satire becomes reality. :baghead:
