Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

Third party candidates do more harm to their ideals rather than further their policy goals. Advance a cause from within the system, yo.
Actually, while third party cannidates never win they do push the two major parties to change because they scare them into some, usaly positive, action.

Or they split enough votes to ensure none of their policies get enacted, and the party opposed to them succeeds somehow.

One thing I find hilarious?

Sen. Jeff Flake announced that he would skip the RNC because he has to "mow his lawn". Flake lives in Arizona, making it kind of ironic. :P

Somebody's got to keep you entertained.

It really didn't, there's nothing new in the leaks besides the realization that the Russian government is working with Trump to try to influence American elections.

No one has been able to explain to me what's so bad about Hillary Clinton.

I mean, on one hand you have a candidate who contradicts himself constantly and adheres to no consistent ideology. When their statements are fact-checked, Hillary is one of the most truthful candidates in this election, while Trump is by far the least truthful. And yet she has a reputation for honesty, and he has one for straight talk. I mean, lesser of two evils? It seems more like one candidate who knows nothing about the job of the Presidency, and frankly has shown no willingness to learn. He has said that he would kill the families of terrorists, a war crime. He has said he would punish women who get abortions. He has said he would break the NATO treaty. He's banned unfriendly media outlets from his events. I'm not 100% confident he could name all three branches of government.

On the other hand, we have a candidate who is, yes, an insider politician. Yes, she has definitely traded influence in the past. Yes, she has been more moderate in the past and is now attempting to appeal to progressives. Besides that, she is a knowledgeable, staid, serious person. She is careful in making decisions. We would disqualify her from the presidency over what? The fact that she used a private email server? Really? The choice in this election really couldn't be more clear.

Maybe there really is something to the conspiracy theory that Donald Trump is a Democrat mole. :P

If you give this mouse a cookie, she'll probably ask for some cheese.

I read through a bunch of commentary of Trump's speech, and it read as the most un-small government speech that I've read in a looong time. I have no idea how small government conservatives can vote for him. :violentgun: :violentgun:

Shout-out to the Trump surrogate on CNN who said the she hopes she "doesn't have to brush up on her Dora the Explorer" to be able to understand Tim Kaine speaking Spanish.

It's because of latent sexism.

There is a great DailyKos article, I'll have to dig to find the link, that shows how Hillary Clinton's approval numbers consistently vault up (like 60% +) whenever she is in a political office, but tank whenever she is seeking a new one. If a man (particularly a white one) did everything Hillary Clinton has done, they would be criticized — for sure — but absolutely not with the same viciousness Secretary Clinton has been. Why? Because we are very used to ambitious men. We understand if male politicians are ambitious and want higher political offices. When it's a woman, however, they are dark schemers, plotters, Lady McBeth-esque villains. Hillary Clinton has clearly wanted to be President for a very, very long time — and that makes Americans very uncomfortable — but not so much when it was Richard Nixon who was ambitious.

Well she does contradict herself, bearing in mind I know little about what she has actually said but from what I have read she is against influence from Wall Street yet she has earned in excess of a million dollars from doing speeches at Wall Street and she receives hundreds of thousands of dollar from Wall Street companies.

Also she supported the Iraq War, which is a reason to be against any politician.
