Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

As you may know, for a while now we have been using the [nation]Europeia Dispatch Office[/nation], created by Calvin, as the main nation for posting all official Europeian dispatches. This includes news snippets, cultural events, recruitment advertisements, game-side handbooks, etc.

Having all of our dispatches posted from a single nation has many advantages. To name a few:
1) it allows for posterity, since we can continue reusing established (meaning well-referenced and upvoted) dispatches for several terms, updating them as necessary;
2) it makes it easier to organize upvoting campaigns;
3) it provides a single point of reference where new members can go and learn a whole lot about Europeia just by browsing the collection of dispatches;
4) it makes everything look more organized and official;
5) it makes it easier to maintain backups of all of our official game-side documents (more about this later in this post);
and so on.

The downside of this system is that it is impractical when there are multiple people who need to post dispatches. One way to deal with this is to give the password of Europeia Dispatch Office to every single person who needs to use it. This is very insecure (it's like sharing a founder nation with every member of every successive government), and under certain conditions may result in breaking game rules. An alternative is having everyone send their dispatch drafts to a single person with access to Europeia Dispatch Office, who then posts them in-game. This is what we have been doing so far, by having Calvin post all of our dispatches. This creates a bottleneck, and results in a lot of pressure on one person and large delays in the whole process.

To address these issues, I have created the following page:

http://cerulean.nsr3n.info/europeia_dispatch_service/submit.sh

The page allows submitting a dispatch title, category, and code, to be posted as a dispatch by Europeia Dispatch Office. Users of the page do not have direct access to Europeia Dispatch Office nation - the posting process happens automatically by our offsite server. Additionally, the same page can be used to edit already existing dispatches posted by Europeia Dispatch Office nation, again without directly accessing the nation. Therefore, using the page makes it possible to effectively share Europeia Dispatch Office for dispatch-posting purposes, in a secure and efficient way. You can think of this page as the dispatch-posting equivalent of our mass-telegramming page.

You are strongly encouraged to post official dispatches for your respective regional business using the dispatch page. Ministers can either do that directly themselves, or just get access to the page for their various deputies and CSO members.

To get access to the dispatch page, contact the corresponding minister (usually the Minister of Communications).

Before I close, many thanks to Calvin, first for running the Europeian Dispatch Office on his own all this time, and second for agreeing to share his nation for this page.

There is an additional resource relating to Europeia Dispatch Office, and our official dispatches:

http://cerulean.nsr3n.info/dispatches/europeia_dispatch_office/

In the above link, you can find backups of all dispatches created by Europeia Dispatch Office. Backups are automatically created twice per day.

A couple of possible uses for these backups:
1) tracking how a dispatch has evolved over time;
2) restoring a dispatch after an accident while editing it.

Just wanted to make a quick note that I used this earlier to post up the Zombie-related dispatch, and it worked quite well. Thanks again!
