| Welcome to Europeia! So what the heck is Europeia anyways? Can I join? So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go? What offices are there for people to be elected into? What is there for me to do in Europeia? That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more? |

(Europeia, April 27, 2015) - The Europeia Ministry of Communications has released a Presidential term poll and analysis. The poll results reflects citizens’ opinions regarding the past Presidential term. The poll asked a total of 16 questions, including an individual evaluation of the President, Vice President and each member of the Cabinet. Additional questions included an overall evaluation of the administration, opinions about the proposed international paper, and potential Presidential candidates for the next election, among others. The poll received eighteen responses over a forty-eight hour period. The poll questions and results are below. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the performance of President Sopo this term? Avg: 5.11 (Lowest) Mode: 7 After a term plagued by real life events that kept Sopo away from the forum for much of his time in office, this low score does not come as much of a surprise. This is the lowest score for any member of the Executive since the EBC started doing these approval polls in the summer of 2014. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the performance of Vice President Writinglegend this term? Avg: 7.11 (Highest) Mode: 9 and 8 The Goldenblock is not entirely unpopular, however, as Writinglegend wins the highest approval score for any member of the Executive. This is likely due to the public seeing him picking up where the President left off, as has been hinted at in the most recent Presidential address. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the performance of Grand Admiral Kraketopia this term? Avg: 7 (Highest Minister) Mode: 8 The next highest score goes to the Grand Admiral, who has been consistently high-ranked since he took over the position under President Malashaan. Constant activity and numerous operations likely are what led to this high score. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the performance of Foreign Affairs Minister Calvin Coolidge this term? Avg: 6.89 Mode: 8 In his second term as Foreign Affairs Minister, Calvin maintains one of the higher scores of the administration, likely for his weekly updates and active use of AMs for Updates and Academy lessons. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the performance of Interior Minister Malashaan this term? Avg: 6.67 Mode: 7 Due to some controversy midterm about Interior’s progress, Malashaan finds himself with a slightly above average score. His bi-weekly updates helped to keep the region informed, however, which is what likely earned him his score. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the performance of Culture Minister Cassy Styles Anumia this term? Avg: 5.78 Mode: 7 Taking over Culture halfway through the term, there has been less time to judge Cassy than the other Ministers, but apparently the region did not like what it saw, giving Cassy one of the lowest scores of the administration. Aside from the Weekend Games, not much activity has come out of Culture, as the festival announcement came after this poll had been closed, so that will be something to consider when looking at this score. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the performance of Communications Minister Deepest House this term? Avg: 6.56 Mode: 8 Also coming in halfway through the term, Deepest House earns a moderate overall score, yet comes in with a high mode score, indicating the majority of citizens were pleased with his rookie performance. Deepest House brought several new initiatives to the Ministry, including a renewed social media program; the establishment of the Europeia Information School; and an emphasis on distributing hard news from the region in the form of official press releases through dispatches. EBC Radio did not gain traction during this term, which may have contributed to some of the lower scores. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the performance of Attorney General Cerian Quilor this term? Avg: 5.72 (Lowest Minister) Mode: 7 After some initial controversy during his Senate confirmation, Cerian did not show much to the public as Attorney General, so the score is accordingly low, as there has not been much for the public to judge. What would you like to see done with the International Paper Project? Half of those polled are in favor of President Sopo’s task force idea, with only four of eighteen in favor of ditching the project. This shows that the next administration will likely have to be in support of the International Paper project in some form to win over voters. For the previous question, why do you feel that way? This was an open-ended question, to which we got a wide range of responses. Here is a sampling:
Do you believe the region is on the right track? If the election were held today, without knowing any of the candidates, would you reelect President Sopo? These two polls paint a very similar picture. Essentially, if you liked how this term went, you would hypothetically reelect Sopo and say the region was on the right track. If you didn’t like it, you voted the other way. A slight majority was against the status quo, so the next administration may have to distance themselves from Sopo’s term to win over voters. On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate the overall performance of the entire administration? Avg: 6.22 Mode: 7 This is a fairly low score for an administration, but is actually pretty close to an average of every member of the Executive’s approval. Inactivity and lack of communication are likely the reason for this low score, and future administrations should take note. Of the following, who would you like to see as a Presidential candidate in this election? Leaders: Calvin Coolidge (10), Malashaan (10), Writinglegend (9) Despite the public rejecting Sopo’s administration, all the top contenders are from Sopo’s Cabinet. This is not too unusual, as Cabinet members usually are the ones to rise to the Presidency in the next election. Notably, Sopo’s opponent in the last election is at the top of the heap, a very recent President, as well as Sopo’s Vice-President. It will be interesting to see what this means for the upcoming election. On what issue(s) would you like next term to be focused on, and why? This was another open-ended question, with another wide range of responses. Here's a sampling of what we got:
Please include here any comments on the poll, the past term, or the election.

Members of the administration also have the biggest spotlight and have the greatest opportunity to do work, which is very important for their election. |

Interesting that there were 18 respondents in this poll, but no candidate had more than 10 people who wanted them to run. No candidate had more than 56% of respondents wanting them to run. |
