Come to New Hampshire, I need excuses to stop reading law books! Europarty! I see much inappropriate conduct in the future, if that happens.

Motivations Desiderata ~ By Max Ehrmann Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. - By Max Ehrmann The Thousanth Man ~ Rudyard Kipling 0NE man in a thousand, Solomon says. Will stick more close than a brother. And it's worth while seeking him half your days If you find him before the other. Nine hundred and ninety-nine depend On what the world sees in you, But the Thousandth Man will stand your friend With the whole round world agin you.
'Tis neither promise nor prayer nor show Will settle the finding for 'ee. Nine hundred and ninety-nine of 'em go By your looks, or your acts, or your glory.
But if he finds you and you find him, The rest of the world don't matter; For the Thousandth Man will sink or swim With you in any water.
You can use his purse with no more talk Than he uses yours for his spendings, And laugh and meet in your daily walk As though there had been no lendings.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine of 'em call For silver and gold in their dealings; But the Thousandth Man he's worth 'em all Because you can show him your feelings.
His wrong's your wrong, and his right's your right, In season or out of season. Stand up and back it in all men's sight With that for your only reason!
Nine hundred and ninety-nine can't bide The shame or mocking or laughter, But the Thousandth Man will stand by your side To the gallows-foot - and after!

Okay so ten bottles of scotch and five tins of snuff are loaded in the vehicle and we're on our way. You don't have anything important planned for the next week or so, right?

You must be imaginative and strong-hearted. You must try things that may not work. You must not let others define your limits, because your only limits are your soul.

Well I missed most of this discussion. I'm pretty much on par with Sopo and a few others - I'm only friends with two or three Europeians on Facebook, and those are people that I've been friends with for ages - Anumia and HEM. And only one of them has my phone number.

So... I'm pretty new to NS, only since Nov 30th last year, but I've met great people. I've friended three on facebook, one I later unfriended when we cut ties, and I talk to a few NSers that have left NS since we're still connected via Skype or Snapchat or something. I like meeting people, it's "what I do" since I move around a lot, and I've found people I trust and like on NS. I have made a bunch of other great friends on NS, and I've trusted a few of them with my rl first name, and even fewer with my last name. I never played a character. The various nicknames that I've chosen have a reason for me choosing them, and sometimes I kinda say things "IC" but I'm always myself, I say what I would say if I was put in a similar situation in real life and I treat others as people, not as animals, creatures, characters, but as people behind that screen. Yes, I do lose my temper and I do lose that sensitivity and my 'cool' but I've apologized later and tried to, if not rebuild bridges, at least tidy up the crossing so it's not so jagged. I have been in an NS marriage, though it was for "shit's and giggles" and I have developed feelings for another NSer, as well as being in a family with a third person, who is now my 'brother', and I do consider him to be trustworthy and very 'brotherly'. We rib and tease each other but we are also there to talk and stuff. I think people should have some sensitivity. Some might consider NS families to be silly or stupid, some might have them just for fun or bragging rights, some people might actually feel something. If someone's happiness stems from NS over real life, are you going to hound them for that? They're happy, what do you care? If anything, you should be happy that they have found someone or various someones, if they belong to a big family where they trust their 'siblings' and their 'spouse'. I do recognize that some people swear more than others, I am one of those that swears a lot, but the quote in the OP seems to be amazingly rude and disrespectful.

NS is great fun, but it's still the internet and no matter how well you think you know someone, you don't necessarily know them as well as you think you do.
Is true for real life as well. People can hide secrets everywhere.

I've noticed this as well. The moment you start intertwining your RL and RP life things get complicated. The only part of me you know about is my voice....
And if you don't play a character to begin with, it's not strange. But then again, only a few of us don't play characters.
