Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

I'd like to point out that we have had debates over the secrecy in Tomlinson at times. Also, there might be secret subforums that the public is not aware of xD

Hopefully the government would not be that secretive to have secret private subforums, and maybe in the future it should be a requirement to have an updated topics of all existing private government subforums

I wasn't even aware it existed until yesterday. Personally I will not be using them for any legislation that I propose, as I don't support private legislative rooms.

Is there a topic with all of them listed? Thats what I was talking about, not having to go search for every individual private forum topic, and Im having a difficult time finding the topic that details the existence of quite a few rooms.

Yes. But the topic is in a secret forum :ph43r:

No, the Act doesn't specify where those posts have to be made, so naturally they're all over the place. :D

EDIT: Actually I'm pretty sure there is a list somewhere, but it might not be updated all that often.

Senate
Executive
Judiciary

They are all where you would expect them to be. The Senate one is in the Speakers Office. The Executive one is in the Goldenblock. The Court on is in the High Court.

Edit: The executive one isnt actually up to date which should be rectified.

As soon as you find out about them though, people will start campaigning for them all to be bloody public :P

Do we have to legislate the Office of Embassies and Ambassadors? The Culture Planning Subforum? The Altitude Room?
To bring up one of the more valid points made in 2011, though, the difference between those subforums and the EAAC is that any citizen can if they choose to do so join the ministries with which they are associated and access those forums (at least the first two, I'll have to confess I don't know what the third is). That is not the case with the EAAC, which is in my view the cause of the controversy surrounding it. On the other hand, we do have other subforums such as Tomlinson and the Navy command subforum(s?) that are not in any way accessible to ordinary citizens and these are not legislated.

As you have noted, other subforums like Tomlinson and the Naval subforums are also unlegislated, secret, and indeed don't even have a public membership list.

Further, even the secret Ministry forums technically are not free-for-all - though it doesn't really happen, a Minister -could- deny someone seeking to join, say, the Culture Ministry as a JM/etc. I could refuse someone who applies to become an Ambassador. So, while there is not a public application thread for the EAAC like there is for Ministry hidden subfora, neither of them are technically freely open to any membership.

I'm personally fine with leaving the EAAC as it is, without legislation. The reason I suggest legislation is to avoid these arguments that so many are clearly so tired of having. If the EAAC is legislated -- particularly if taken to the People in referendum, where I'm confident it would pass, perhaps with a few modest changes -- maybe we won't have to have this annual debate.

My concern is that we will: and the debate then will be "let's amend the Act to do -this-". Thin end of the wedge, the end of civilisation as we know it, etc. :P

As MoC, I've denied JM applicants before. :ph43r:

I don't really care one way or another about this issue since I'm pretty sure the EAAC is harmless, but I can't really support the pro-transparency side because every point they bring up can be easily countered and/or dismissed. It's interesting that some of Zenny's arguments mirror those of CSP in his late 2012 Senate campaign though.
