Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

Good interview, but for god's sake you aren't European and may have trouble with English, HEM. Advise =/= advice. Get the damn spelling right.

How can you say the graph isn't a good representation and you prefer the numbers? The graph is a visualization of the numbers. The reason people make graphs is because they show trends that are not apparent from the raw numbers, which are notoriously misleading. What all the graphs on the statistics page show are a solid improvement over the whole time Anumia was president - all that despite the fact that the same period saw the explosion in stamp based recruiting.Sure, the past counts are not what they were in 2012 - but due to stamps and other factors our population is half of what it was then. It's a testament to the region's efforts that our post count is in the same ball park as 2012 despite the decline in population.
Graphs can't be misleading?

What I really meant was that the graph on the forum is a daily count which is quite a bit more volatile and less helpful than looking at monthly numbers.

When you look at the monthly numbers, I don't see any significant improvement. This is the graph of month-by-month post counts:

I see one month that approaches what used to be considered the average, the rest below average. Sorry, I'm just not seeing this "steady improvement" you claim existed.

From January, each month the post count has gone up as compared to the preceding month. I'm not sure what the last data point in your latest graph is, but based on the previous numbers you posted I assume it's the post count for may up until the time you pulled the numbers, so naturally it will be lower than a full month. I don't see any evidence in these numbers of an activity problem. At worst, when you account for the inherent noise, we're seeing an essentially unchanging average that has persisted over the last 12 months, and the recent month on month improvement is clear in both the raw data and the various visualizations.

The last data point is this month, May 2014.

Anumia's term saw a re-stabilization of post counts far lower than has ever been the "norm", and you think that maintaining that status quo is a good thing? We didn't increase post counts every month (decreased the first two) and then the months that saw increases were just a few hundred posts (or less) more. That's not substantive improvement.

I will agree with everyone that post count is an imperfect measure of regional activity, but it does show how the region is "trending" (up, down, or stagnate) and these numbers point to some stagnation.

That's summer in Australia. Maybe Anumia being President made the summer slump come during his summer?

I was specifically referring to March, when the downward trend began. But March can be summer somewhere. :baghead:

Controversy and complaints generate activity. I wouldn't be surprised at all if good leadership results in short-term dips in activity.

Those aren't the only things that increase activity, however. During the Lexus Administration we saw skyrocketing activity due to...well, more members and more posting. Controversy is a large source of activity, but we should not see a lack of activity merely as a lack of controversy.

How relevant is stuff that happened 4 or 5 years ago? Let's look at the last year or two and see how times of high and low activity lines up with the quality of governance we had during those times.

Well maybe if my bloody children would have been around during the past seven months doing ENN articles instead of a greater output in the past fortnight than in the three terms previous... <_<
