Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

Apply for Citizenship!

Firstly, we're honored that you're reading this thread because it really does represent a great deal to everyone here that you're considering taking the next step in your career and belonging here.

If you have any questions, you may be able to find the answer in the Newcomer's Handbook. Alternatively, the admins and members of the government will be happy to assist you - just send them a PM! If you are having technical difficulties with posting your application, validating your account, etc. please contact the Administrative Team here (clicky!) or, if you're the ambitious type, track us down on Europeia's Discord server (click).

What does it mean to become a Europeian Citizen?

Becoming a Europeian Citizen is a big step. You'll have certain privileges and rights here, and also several responsibilities to our region, which are outlined briefly below.

Rights

As a Citizen, our Law guarantees you the right to vote in elections and referenda, participate in our Navy, and run in elections for official positions, as well as granting you certain other legal rights.

Our Government will also take whatever steps are necessary to help you if you are in need of it, and for the preservation of your rights both in Europeia and abroad, to the extent that is appropriate with your involvement in other regions.

Responsibilities

At the same time, it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with and do your best to abide by our Laws, which are, of course, in place only so that our community can function democratically, harmoniously, and with a high level of regional security.

If you have any issues understanding our Law (we know it's sometimes hard!), then the Attorney General, Speaker of the Senate, or any one of our registered attorneys will be happy to help you.

We'll also ask you to maintain a nation in our region and maintain a reasonable level of activity on the forums, as conditions for your citizenship.

How does one become a citizen?

It's relatively simple, just fill out the below form and post it in a new thread in this forum, with your name as the title of the thread. To copy the form below, simply highlight and copy everything embedded in the block of text after the "Code:"

Please be advised that proxies are not allowed in Europeia, for security reasons. If you absolutely need to use one, please contact Lethen. Waivers may be granted on a case-by-case basis.

After you've filled out the form and posted this in its own thread, one of our Administrators will start processing your application (typically Lethen, who will typically re-mask and contact applicants within a few hours of posting the application). Once it starts being processed, there is a maximum wait of up to 5 days before you are granted full citizenship automatically, but no worries as Lethen endeavors to process applications quickly (RL obligations notwithstanding). During the waiting period, we'll still give you a special mask, called the "Non-voting members" mask, which allows you to see and post in most of our forums.

While you're waiting, feel free to introduce yourself here! Tell us a bit about yourself, your beliefs, and whatever else you'd like to share - and then prepare to be overwhelmed by other Europeians - we're quite a friendly bunch!

Has it been a few days and your citizenship hasn't been approved? Sometimes elections delay citizenship approvals; sometimes your application will be denied. Sometimes, the admins are simply bums ( :emb: ). Send Lethen a PM (top right-hand corner where it says Inbox) or track him down on Discord (Leth#7475).
