Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

If that's true and they actually discussed purposely removing it in the Senate, then that was a tragic error. If they overlooked it, then that was a major flaw.

Either way, this is just another example of why rushing through legislation this last term caused us to miss something major.

You could also argue that the halting of waivers being granted for citizenship 7 before an election or 2 before a by-election establishes the precedent that we won't accept citizenship applications period in those time frames.

Which can correlate to the ambiguity given by section 2, subsection V.

Quote:

(v)  The granting of citizenship to the applicant is deemed to pose an unacceptable risk to the well being of Europeia;
"The cynic knows the price of everything and the value of nothing."

"A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference." - Thomas Jefferson

"Any law which violates the inalienable rights of man is essentially unjust and tyrannical; it is not a law at all." - Maximillien Robespierre

"We want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone, and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men's souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost. The airplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men; cries out for universal brotherhood; for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women, and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me, I say, do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish." - The Great Dictator

The idea was that with a 7 day waiting period stopping applications before elections became a moot point. Also this happened not during this term, but the previous one under crist seymour's speaker-ship(just a way of identify which term it was).

The section you refer to Versailles-Vienne is reason for denial of the application by the minister of interior, not for delaying it.

Hmm...well then there were clearly flaws with the 'moot point' theory.

Lethen you were posting in that thread, and didn't exactly protest getting rid of the election halt on applications. Also if we have both the waiting period and the elections halting applications for 7 days prior, then you can have people waiting 14 days, which will only drive them away.

I never said I wasn't part of that flawed theory. I didn't foresee this either, though.

Remember when I was famous? Neither do I.

Hello and congratulations! You are now officially a Citizen of Europeia!

At this point, you are probably asking yourself, "What do I do next?"

There are multiple avenues to explore, and you certainly don't have to limit yourself to just one:

In the Civil Service you can gain experience in government by becoming a Junior Minister.

As a Junior Minister, you will get the chance to work closely with Ministers and even run your own projects!

If drafting legislation is more to your liking, apply to join the City Council Learn to draft your own bills and debate legislation.

Have a taste for judicial affairs? The High Court of the Republic awaits you! In the High Court you can follow court cases, comment in the Strangers Gallery and even join the Judicial Training Center. One day, you too could be a member of the Judiciary!

Finally, if politics isn’t really your game, or you just want to do your share for the glory of the Republic, the Europeian Republic Navy may be for you. Become an officer in a professional, skilled, renown Military force and you will get the chance to travel across the world, meet new friends and rise up the ranks.

Want to learn more? Check out the Handbooks available.

Have questions but don’t know who to ask? Ask in the Ministry of Citizen Integration by making a new topic.

I've also upgraded your masking to citizen!
