Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

Gave Up Being Cool To Be Here

Today I'm here with former Vice President McEntire who was recently dismissed by President Rachel Anumia and replaced by Vice President North East Somerset.

So, former Vice President, we sit at a mid point in your election and there have been some damning things said about you which has led to the President dismissing your services. Do you have anything to say to those critics?

To my critics, I'd say that yes, I have made mistakes. Am I perfect? No. Do I try? Not really. But I do care. I notified the Europeian people of my absences each time they were necessary and I did what I felt I had to do to have balance in my life. I think we can all relate.

What is your view of the Mandatory Recruitment Act? Do you feel that you've been unfairly treated by those who say you were suspended a week ago although no public notice was made?

Not only was no public notice made, I was told by the Interior Minister specifically that my suspension began this week, not last week as some have claimed it should have. My view of the MRA is that it's necessary but foolish. It just turns people away, however we do need a base of recruitment. I feel I was treated unfairly, because I was told one thing then acted upon in a different way, then ignored when attempting to correct my mistake.

So, with that evidence, do you think people have been far too quick to judge? Perhaps people have - wanted - someone to slip up and jumped on the bandwagon?

I think it's very easy to jump on someone who doesn't recruit. It's not a bandwagon, per se, but it's easy to see how some in the Rachel Administration may have thought it was time for a change and saw this as an opportunity to have one.

How do you feel about the Minister of Interior? Are there any ill feeling towards him?

"Ill feelings" is too simple a term. I have great admiration for Ogastein. I have served with him in several capacities, he's absolutely a fabulous public servant. I don't like how he handled this situation, but as for any ill feelings, I feel no harshness towards him. I know how he is, and I know he can let other variables affect his decision-making abilities, and I realize that, so I can't hate him for that.

Quite understandable and forgiving of you, in your opinion you feel that the Minister has let public opinion way his decision making?

I think he has let the opinion of his superiors and his own idea of being "right" cloud his decision making. He, like many others, didn't want to analyze the situation or treat me like anyone else. I understand that, no one likes to be wrong, but I just wonder if it could have been handled differently.

What about the President? Do you think that you have been treated unfairly by the President?

I don't think so. I understand that Rachel had to let me go from her inner circle, I mean it doesn't look good for a President to have a seemingly inactive VP. I understand Rachel, I like Rachel, she's doing a good job. I don't like how this situation ended up, or the manner in which I was communicated to, or not communicated to as the case may be. That does not, however, affect my feelings on Rachel which is that she is spectacular.

What does the future hold for you? Will you be involved in Europeian politics again soon or has this left an ill taste in your mouth?

I'll be back. This has left no ill taste in my mouth. As much as some people dislike me, I try to be honest and true in word and deed. I am loyal to this region and now that a busy spell has ended for me in real life, I'd love to help build the region I an enamored with. I've had to build my reputation up from greater deficits, I'm prepared to do it again.

Its been a pleasure to speak with you and I wish you the very best of luck in your future endeavours.

This was a pleasure for me too, thank you.

I don't want this to be an argument or anything but I have to set the record straight because I don't necessarily agree with this characterization. The bottom line is I acted within in the law and was even quite lenient. Due to an error, I allowed McEntire to accumulate three strikes in a row before suspension; the law only allows for two.

After the second strike, I PM'ed McEntire and alerted him that there was a looming suspension and he must recruit that week or face suspension for a third strike. This was a mistake but regardless, McEntire responded with "Oh. Crap. I'll get it done." Strike three came and he told me was on a Leave of Absence.

That week, people pointed out that the MRA only allows for two consecutive strikes before suspension. McEntire tried to request a waiver and explain that he was on a LoA. I told him that the law only allowed for two strikes in a row so he would still be suspended this week, regardless. McEntire than proceeded to tell me that he was not aware of this law and it must have changed recently...

Not only was no public notice made

Not true. Every weekly mandatory recruitment thread includes who received strikes at the end of the week. McEntire's strikes were posted accordingly in these threads. That is public notice, in my opinion.

I actually agreed with you and was unaware that you were being removed due to the MRA being breached. This was not my call.

I appreciate the kind words you said about me. Really, I do appreciate them. I must, however, object to the characterization that outside factors affected my decision making in this case. That's just simply not true. I gave you an extra week; I essentially broke the law. I really don't see how I was trying to appease outside factors. I just find that to be confusing.

Overall, this was not meant to be an argumentative post but merely me telling my part of the story.
