Welcome to Europeia!
So what the heck is Europeia anyways?

Can I join?

So, I came here representing another region? I do not want to become a citizen. Where should I go?

What offices are there for people to be elected into?

What is there for me to do in Europeia?

That answers most of my immediate questions. What if I have any more?

More, yes, but is something as complicated and - by your own admission, difficult to make work and complete - as the DTC really the most effective way to go about doing it? Can we really put FA training on an assembly line and lesson plan?

Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies.
Unfocused populism is just as dangerous, if not more so, to a Republic's survival as creeping authoritarianism.
Tell people how you feel, honestly and frankly. If you like someone, tell them. If you don't like them, tell them - the world would be a better place if we all knew where we stood.

I don't believe I've said that it's difficult to make work or complete. It was certainly difficult to complete in the midst of working on CAIN, but I don't believe that to be a normal situation.

As for if it is the most effective way, I have no idea. We have two comparisons to make: before the DTC existed and before it was restructured. I think it would be more effective than both of those, at the very least, though there may likely be a more effective version in the future.

And given how many man-hours it would take to fix it, you think it's worth all that?

As long as I believe that training will improve the quality of our leaders, and thus our region, I will say yes.

I mean yes... but also no? Objectively, it is much harder to poll users who don't show up on the forums as much. Most people who take polls are usually active on the forums, or at least active regulars in EuroChat. The demographics were just off, but you can't really account for something like that as much as you can IRL.

If I knew who some of the people were who showed up to vote but aren't much active otherwise I would've sought them out to send them a link the a poll, but it's not worth doing that for 150 citizens tbqh.

The most recent poll had 45 responses with Darcness getting 72%. That's around 32 votes. Both candidates exceeded their raw # of supporters in the polls (as is usual), but Brun's voting base comes from a group of users who are less likely to take them.

(ftr I'm not judging or casting aspersions at low engagement voters, I'm just saying that it's infinitely hard to poll something when you cant get a good demographic read, especially if that demographic breaks very hard for one side.)

I said on the radio program with Vac that a really high turnout would favor Brun because the gap in voters who didn't pay attention to the scandal and Brun's favorability with that group.

I didn't expect them to show up, but I'm not surprised she won after getting them to turn out.

I don't think it was the JayDee Scandal driving brun's numbers down in these polls, since Brun personally polled better than her new VP here. The real initial takeway seemed to be that Rach was a drag on her chances.

As it turns out, Rach was probably a big help in GOTV.
