"That is essentially what tag raiding does in all honesty. It showcases speed and precision. Hitting 5 or 10 regions with 3 or 4 or 5 endorsements on the delegate is the way you should be approaching this in my honest opinion." Festavio has said this. Tag raiding is what TRE does The idea that Fest wants us to be like TRE simply because he wants our Navy to hit more than one target a night is a reach at best and disingenuous at worst. Nowhere in Fest's argument has he advocated for us to be a pure raider force or for us to raid simply to raid. Nowhere has he suggested that we should raid 20+ regions an update or that we should change the culture of our military. Those accusations came from outside of his argument to discredit his argument.
In fact, Fest has openly stated the opposite.
"I do not want the ERN to be like TRE and I have never advocated for that. TRE does raids of 20 or more hits per update. I only ask for the ERN to utilize its forces better during the update."
The underlined part is what this is about. This debate should be about whether hitting a single target a week is the best way to utilize our forces. It should be about whether or not the region's foreign policy is better served by a prolific military or by specialized stealth raids.
It should not be about throwing accusations towards Senators claiming that they want to turn the ERN into TRE simply because they want to take a different approach to our Navy.

Unlike your home region, Europeia is not hell-bent on subverting and destroying other regional communities. We are an open society. You are taking advantage of that openness to try to influence our elections for the benefit of your home region, which is committed to our destruction. Perhaps our laws allow you to do this (though as a Senator, I'll be looking into changing that), but they don't require me to be nice to you while you're doing it, you little piece of shit.

Brunhilde has done a pretty good job of being the voice of reason here and I concur with her points, but I would like to add a couple things.
Snowball: I didn't know that TRE created tag raiding.
XIV: I guess I am just one of those people who would rather we attract people with the truth instead of extreme exaggerations at best and lies at worst.
Altmoras: I'm conflicted on having a defender such as yourself agree with me

"I didn't know that TRE created tag raiding."- sorry what? Fest, the amount of viable regions with no founder is supprisingly low. Just sayn Your attitude seems to imply that you think TRE invented tag raiding and therefore any instance of rag raiding is instantly paying homage to the great roman gods.
Do me a favor and take a look at a spyglass sheet once. You will then realize the inaccuracy of your statement.

I just want to note how this is a great news story.
I really hate that this has been marginalized by banishment into a sub-forum as an “update.” It’s not an update – there is no such thing as an update. There is news, and this is a news article covering regional current events, incorporating multiple points of view. This is actual journalism.
With 20 replies before mine, this news story has generated much greater discussion and engagement than the so-called High Return Media articles posted so far this term. The “A New Face in Goldenblock,” which has been characterized as an “update” as well, resides in the full EBC forum simply because the sub-forum was not yet ready. That article has 19 replies.
The HRM articles posted have received 5 and 2 replies respectively. The recently posted culture article is up to 9, still less than half of the hard news articles posted in the “update” section.
It is time to retire this “update” section and return to “one EBC” that covers news. Hard news articles are journalism and generate engagement and discussion. It is time for them to return to their proper place in the full EBC.

 I. Am. Not. A. Nice. Person. Never underestimate the power of cynicism, pessimism and negativity to prevent terrible things from happening. Only idealists try to build the future on a mountain of bodies. Unfocused populism is just as dangerous, if not more so, to a Republic's survival as creeping authoritarianism. Tell people how you feel, honestly and frankly. If you like someone, tell them. If you don't like them, tell them - the world would be a better place if we all knew where we stood.
