http://www.consolemonster.com/newspost.php?id=0000002076 The Halo 3 BETA is easily the most popular Xbox Live game on the 360 and with good reason. It seems to take everything that was good in Halo 2 and further enhance them through Xbox Live. From Missile Pods to Spartan Lasers and Valhalla to High Ground, the game has everything a Halo fan needs to feed his Master Chief obsession. What's more the popularity of this game can be seen by simply looking at the fact that over 610,000 games of Halo 3 were logged in the first 24 hours of the BETA's release. This is made all the more amazing considering that a good few thousand gamers didn't get to play it for a couple of hours due to the Crackdown bug. Even now, a few days on, the game is still logging around 450 to 500 thousand games every 24 hours. I think Bungie can safely say the BETA has been a huge success. If anything you have to wonder if the BETA was nothing more than a marketing ploy by Bungie. They simply feed us gamers a titbit of the game; they get us hooked then take it down leaving thousands counting the days until September 26th. What's more you can already see that it's worked. |
