![]() The Artic Forest : Two months after visiting SBC, I came back after a zookeeper called me for a special event. It was winter and I never went to see a zoo in the middle of the cold winter. I actually didn't expect any animals to be outside in this cold. Instead of going to Wild Mongolia ! , as I planned, the zookeeper told me to go to this new part of the SBC. " The Artic Forest " I hoped to see some extinct animals like the Whooly Rhinoceros and the Whooly Mammoth. There wouldn't be any dinosaurs in here. Dinosaurs would never survive in this cold. ![]() I saw a small building. I knew there would be a smaller animal in this cage, so I guessed it to be a small mammel. The zookeeper told me to enter the building as quit as possible, as these animals would run away when they heard the slightest noice. ![]() I came in. I stepped as quit as possilbe. Just didn't see that little branch. *CRACK* -wooosh- Running in front of me, there was a small dinosaur. A dinosaur ? In this cold weather ?? I asked the zookeeper which species this was.![]() "These are Leaellynasaura, a special type of dinosaur from Australia. During the time they lived, Australia was lying in the artic circle and was very cold and dark during 6 months. These animals were adapted to live in the cold weather." the zookeeper told me. ![]() All day long I tried to take pictures of these magnificent creatures, but often they ran away. ![]() ![]() Sometimes I could get a glimpse of these animals, but never a full picture. I was told that they are way more active during the night, because of their huge eyes. ![]() And finnaly, there was a Leaellynasaura that wasn't that shy of the camera. He looked at me with his huge cute eyes. ![]() Thanks to Cook ( ZKG ) and markun, for the insperation and bringing in the concept of showing a zoo in the winter in the modern ZT2 Zoo Building.

I didn't keep them in the exhibit... ![]() They ran out every five seconds and I had to put them back in. And yes, I'll include the Koolasuchus, the Muttaburasaurus and the Minmi from Prehistoric Pandomomium.

![]() The Artic Forest ~Theme Update~ Welcome to my official theme update ! Theme Updates are updates that show you the theme of the following exhibits. It introduces you to the new enviroment and gives you a small sneak peak. ![]() The place I want to show you guys is what I call " Koola Lake ". This huge natural lake might be a hinderniss while making a zoo, here's a creative way of using it in your zoo ! ![]() ![]() ![]() This whole exhibit consists of a network of bridges and smaller lookout spots. Your constantly surrounded by water. It gives you a nice and calming feeling. ![]() ![]() This is a picture where you can see the area isn't finished yet. Look at the right corner, where you can see a little lookout building ! ![]() ![]() You might not see it, but actually, the small spot on the lowest part of the bridge ( ) touches the water ! It's the perfect spot to come face to face with the giant amphibian monsters, Koolasuchus ! Note : Yes I have the Prehistoric Foliage pack of Sophie and you not. You might not see this as a possitive thing, but I'm sure you'll change your mind soon enough.
