Hey guys this is my first S&T so I cant wait to get started critisisem is welcom as that is how we learn. First i will give you some background info.

Short Discription Of Zoo History
This zoo started up in 1930 and was very succsesful but due to dwindiling profits the state gouverment steped in to help but its efforts were useless the zoo closed down in 1960. After 10 years the lot which the zoo had been built on was cleared only a few trees were left along with some rocks, A young man whose name was Robert James Sotherland stepeted in and bought the lot and and started construction on a small pen for 3 Eastern Wild Turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo silvestris) and in 2009 this was complete with 3 small fountains toilets a hot dog stand and some more foliage.

A word from the staff
This zoo was built to entertain guests aswell as give them a oppurtinity to learns as they travel through the lush grounds of the Sotherland Zoo. Robert along with all the staff would like to thank you for visisting this zoo and hope you come back. We do not have many animals yet but that will change as the zoo grows.
From the staff of Sotherland Zoo

Now Im sure youve been waiting for pics so I wont make you wait much longer :)

Picture time

You enter the zoo and see many diferent species of plants native to the area such as the Red Pine, Maple Tree along with many Bracken ferns
Posted Image

You walk further and reach two mustang stautes that are very beacutiful with the way there carved
Posted Image

You walk on towards the first exhbit but before you reach it you reach a stunning little garden with fountains and dasies
Posted Image

You reach the observation area for the exhbit where you discover there are 3 turkeys (1m 2f). These were found roaming the park when the lot was bought and were given a exhbit.

Posted Image
here is one of our females she is the least shy of the 3 and often comes cloes to the fence though she is also the most solitary of the 3 sticking to her self in the exhbit.

Posted Image
Here is our male who is pretty shy at the moment he likes to roam in the longer grases at the back of the exhbit but seems to stick with our other female alot :HUGGLES: (not pictured)

Now if we leave the turkey we can get a drink at a nerby fountain which was built for our guest to refresh themselves with.
Posted Image

If you head down a nerby winding path
Posted Image

You reach a hot dog stand :IWANTCANDY: which geusts can buy hot dogs from for a resanbole price as well as sit down on the nerby table which a guest is demonstrating now
Posted Image

Also we built some toilets as our guests seem to be having alot of accidents (I thought they were toilet trained ) which made the zoo stink.
Posted Image

Also earlier today I got a photo of the Turkey exhbit for all of you to see
Posted Image

Well there you have it thats the zoo (exhbit) so far that wont be another update for a while as im going on holidays if you would like to request something pm me (I may not listen to your request as I would like to keep it realistic but dont let that discourage you). Also I will probably be very active in the trading center soon looking for some new animals as well as plants.

Nice zoo! I like the last pic of the turkey exhibit. I have an excess of speckled longfin eels at my zoo. If you would like any, contact me at the trade center for details.

Update time :D

First some news:
*The zoo has been offered a large peice of grassland just outside of the city of Adelaide by the river torrens :D. we have chosen to aceept this as it is pretty close to where we are now plus there is threat of bush fires so its safer.

okay now for some pics 2 to be exact we will start with I will show you pics of our wolves finally :) (note we are still looking for a male and we are getting despret :( )

Posted Image
we will start with Santana the younger shyer one as you can see. She enjoyes hiding in amongst the foliage but can be very playful when she wants to be or when foods involved

Posted Image
Saba is the older one and loves running around and exploring their exhbit but can keep to herself when the keepers come in we don't know why but hopefully she will cotton on.

Sorry for the short update the next one should be bigger.
