I warn you, they suck. Oh well, here goes nothing. Because I never build any complete, full zoos, I decided it was time to open up a show and tell of just my random efforts. This was my most recent, the Européenne Parc zoologique du désert de Gobi, which stands for European Zoological Park of the Gobi Desert. This small zoo located in a city park in Paris is privatley owned and has many of the rarest animals from the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. Some of the animals in the park are the only of their kind in Europe. (Example:1.2 Means one male, two females, for those who don't know. Male on left, female on right.) Exhibit #1: Mongolian Gazelle 3.4 Hooded Crane 2.2 Great Bustard 1.3 ![]() Exhibit #2: Gobi Kulan:2.4 Przewalski's Gazelle 3.2 ![]() Exhibit #3: Swan Goose 3.4 ![]() So, tell me how I did. I'm looking for some good foliage to download to make my zoos look better than using horrible ingame foliage. I hope you enjoyed this. |

Thanks PT, actually, I didn't like the swan goose exhibit, glad to see you do. I know what my project is going to be:A bird zoo! I was complaining on how I have to wait for all of the birds to come out for download in ZT2, so in the meantime how about I make an all bird zoo?? |

Thanks cowman. Here's my next zoo. It is inspired by the Akron Zoo, San Diego Zoo, Monntery Bay Aquarium, and Cleveland Zoo, maybe even the Newport Aquarium a little. It's my Zt1 version of th fictional Ridgeland Parks Zoo, located near San Francisco here in the US. The zoo traces its roots to 1935, when a man by the name of Louis J. Ridges donated land to the city, when it became Ridgeland Park. Many animals city goers couldn't normally see, such as deer, foxes, waterfowl, racoons, and more, were brought in, and even a female Grizzly Bear named Josie was on exhibit. Then, in 1939, a new curator, Joseph A. Dravidson, started an exotic bird collection in an aviary on site. Several birds from Asia and Africa were brought in on expeditions, and that's how the zoo officially started. So follow me, we have much to see and so little time. The zoo is divided into continents, with each area of course with animals from that specific place/area. We'll start our tour in the old Australian section. Upon walking in you see two exhibits with flightless birds, more specifically two ratities. The first has Single-Watled Cassowaries, and the other holds Emus: ![]() You then walk into a large glass building, and inside the sounds of the outside fade away, and you hear exotic bird calls and waterfalls trickling peacefully. You view the first exhibit on your right, an outback one. Inside of it you see three Aussie birds, the Spinifex Pigeon, Geophaps plumifera, Malleefowl, Leipoa ocellata, and finally, Australian Brush Turkeys, Alectura lathami. After admiring the outback birds, you look to the left and see an exhibit holding pretty Black Swans, Cygnus atratus. You then head to the next exhibit, also with Australian waterfowl, and see Plumed Whistling Duck, Dendrocygna eytoni, and wonderful black and white Magpie Geese, Anseranas semipalmata. (Those last two exhibits based off one in the cleveland zoo) The last exhibit you view, a steamy rainforest exhibit, has Eclectus Parrots, Eclectus roratus, a sexually dimporphic parrot from New Guinea, Northern Australia, and the Solomon Islands. ![]() The tour picks up again tomorrow! See you then! PS: Leave a nice juicy comment for our tour guide, me. )

Alrighty, I'm back with pictures! Just in case you forgot, this is the bird park I was working on. The Australia section was expanded to have more birds! Thanks to a wonderful grant, we now have gotten birds from New Guinea and New Zealand, as well as a few more Australian birds. (Mostly because I downloaded an Oceanic Pack) Here's a view of the first new section. In your upper right hand section you can see a group of Australian Lace Monitors. (2.2) Next door to them are the very odd, spikey, thorny, and pokey, Thorny Devils, from the outback. (3.4) On your other side you can seet two ratite exhibits. The first, a savannah exhibit, is one of a kind. It contains King Island Black Emus, (2.1) a subspecies of Emu that has been thought to be extinct for years. There's also an exhibit housing New Guinean Northern Casowarries.

You then venture into the large new aviary. You begin first at the New Guinea exhibits on your right. The first part of the exhibit that you peer into holds Matschie's Tree Kangaroos, (2.2). The other half contains two other New Guinea species, Black Spotted Cuscus (3.3) and Lesser Bird of Paradise. (1.4) Next door on your right are a mated pair of Cape Barren Geese. We hope that they'll raise chicks soon.(1.1)

Across from these exhibits are the many New Zealand exhibitions. In your first exhibit, a very grassy one, you see rare Takahe, the largest rail species. On the sign about what animals are in the exhibit, you read that Weka once inhabited this exhibit, but have been shipped out. Next door is a very noteworthy exhibit. Inside are the cutest birdies ever, Little Spotted Kiwi. (3.3) Please resist the urge to pick one up and give it a hug. Also in this exhibit, which makes it noteworthy, are Adzebills, an extinct bird from New Zealand. Thanks to a startling find of DNA of these birds, our scientists worked day and night to bring back these magnificent birds. We also have plans to bring back Moa and South Island Geese, and once again, these amazing birds may once again roam the magnificent isles of New Zealand. The last exhibit contains the large nocturnal Kakapo. During the day, like right now, they are asleep, but at night they clib the trees and call their loud calls across the aviary.
