Thanks for the compliments, everyone! The next couple of updates will feature one exhibit which I've spent a lot of time working on. It's a large house, displaying some of the world's most amazing island animals, including cassowaries, Komodo dragons, and tree-kangaroos. It's the Australasia House. The first, and my favorite, part of the Australasia House features the strange flora and fauna of New Guinea. Cassowaries, crowned-pigeons, cuscuses, and more can be found in the three exhibits which make up this wing of the building. Here's an overview of hte New Guinea Wing. ![]() The first exhibit you'll see contains... Matschie's Tree-Kangaroos and Spotted Cuscuses New Guinea is an island just north of Australia. And, like Australia, it harbors some extremely bizarre and wonderful animals. In this exhibit, we see two animals which are examples of New Guinea's wonderful products of island evolution. The little monkey-like marsupials you will see climbing the trees are spotted cuscuses. These nocturnal creatures are arboreal, meaning they spend most of their time in the treetops. They have done very well in captivity, already working on raising a pair of babies. The larger residents of this exhibit are Matschie's tree-kangaroos. There are several species of tree-kangaroo, all found in northern Australia and New Guinea. These small, cuddly-looking marsupials evolved in the absence of herbivorous tree-dwelling animals in Australia, such as monkeys. They spend their days slowly munching on vegetation, and you can see them eating the lettuce that zookeepers provide them right near the viewing glass. ![]()

Oooh, I love these exhibits even more than the ones in your other S&T, specially the Pig/Boar exhibit, and these latest ones. I know you use alot of downloads, but have you ever thought of putting some of these up for download? |

Thanks, KM! Glad you commented. Thank you again! And yes, I agree, I'm liking this park more than my Lion Preserve... ![]() And, actually, yes, I am thinking of putting this map and the Lion Preserve up for download. I'll make sure to post a list of needed downloads if and when I upload the maps. ![]() Also, unless people really like them a lot, I'm going to stop putting the little descriptions of the animals/exhibits... I'm running out of ideas! ![]() Anyway, on to the next part of the New Guinea Wing. ![]() Dingiso

Sounds great. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what this looks like in first person, and I can't wait to see more from you. (:EDIT: I love the Dingiso exhibit as well, you always manage to make it look so lush.

Thanks again! That means a lot coming from you; you're a real inspiration, especially when it comes to buildings. I can never make stables as good as you, though...

Hey, don't you have the Montane Forest hack? The crowned pigeons and matschie's tree kangaroos are fine in the Montane forest. |

Thanks for the comments, everyone! ![]() And Kiwilover, I do have the montane forest hack, but to make the zoo look more like an average city zoo I keep it all grassland. ![]() On to the next exhibit! Dwarf Cassowaries and Western Crowned-Pigeons

I really like it! The rock in the pond is really awesome. Also, I think I see a little crowned pigeon near the bushes but I'm not sure. When you take the guest view pics, the foliage makes the exhibits so concealing that it's like a game where you have to find it's inhabitants. |

It's wonderful! Lovely ideas in the hands of a wonderful zoobuilder ![]() Only one thing: Since I'm a cassowary nerd, I'd like to inform you that cassowaries are known to kill everything they share their exhibit with xD Luckily they don't do that ingame, but maybe you'd want to use it for realism xD |
