The Strathcona Groves Zoological Park, established in 2010 by the IABRRS outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, is home to luscious terrain and sleek, modern faculties. The park is both a zoo and an aquarium. The current species list has been upgraded to:
Angolan Genet
Sulawesi Palm Civet
Sri Lankan Axis Deer
Indian Rhinoceros
Rhim Gazelle
Weka
Dall's Porpoise
Wild Turkey
Takahe
European Stergeon
Thornback Ray
Greater Rhea
Dwarf Cassowary

Today we will be opserving the large building housing the Embamba Zoological Park's Angolan Genet pair and then our own pair of Sulawesi Palm Civets.

Posted Image
As we approach the entrance to the zoo, the first building we see is the largest in the park.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
On the inside the building is lush and spacious.
Posted Image
As we move in closer, on the left side of the building is the Sulawesi Palm Civet pair.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
The exhibit is divided into two indoor areas and an outdoor encloser connecting the two.
Posted Image
Then we approach the genet encloser on the right.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
The indoor genet encloser is ful of dense foliage. The pair was gladly loaned to us from one of our two partner zoo's, the Embamba Zoological Park.
Posted Image
And finally there is the view of the genets outer, glass area.

Hope you've enjoyed our presentaion! Thank you for looking!

I love the design of your buildings. Reminds me greatly of the TransAlta Rainforest building at the Calgary Zoo because of the glass dome on the side and many plants within the building. I greatly need to get more creative with mine if my little park is gain your approval.

That's an absolutely amazing glass dome!!
It's well structured all round, and the exhibits inside are just excellent. :)
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

Thank you all! Now presenting the next exhibit:

Posted Image
Now exhibiting the Indian Rhinoceros, Sri Lanakan Axis Deer, and Dwarf Cassowary exhibit.

Posted Image
When exiting the civet/genet encloser, you notice a path leading to a Giant Sequoia, and from their to the old part of the zoo.
Posted Image
Instead of heading that way, we turn left towards the paddock.
Posted Image
Posted Image
The foliage is tall, so animals are difficult to see from many locations.
Posted Image
Posted Image
All three species of animals live happily in the paddock, ut also enjoy being in their indoor house, pictured with Sri Lankan Axis Deer below.
Posted Image
Posted Image

We hope you enjoyed this exhibit. Next time prepare to see Greater Rhea, Wild Turkey and Rhim Gazelle encloser.

Wow, can't believe I didn't read this before.

Nice job my friend, I really like the building in the beginning, the Sulawesi Palm Civet exhibit is very realistic, lots of small carnivores' exhibits in zoos are like that. Nice job! ;)

I'm also very very curious about the weka.....

It's very beautiful RR. I love the dwarf cassowary exhibit. Great idea to put the sand in. It makes it look better. I might just steal that idea for my zoos lol! :D

The buildings (especially with the small mammals) and foliage are very good, I'd just be scared of being attacked by a cassowary with that low wall! I like the genet picture best.
