![]() People have been asking me how to make great landscapes. So I made a guide. The guide consists of 10 chapters; (NOTE: The Chapter arrangement has altere slightly since the last time) 1. Rivers 2. Hills 3. Waterfalls 4. Rocks 5. Formations 6. Biome Placement 7. Foliage 8. Buildings 9. Primordial Scenes 10. Behind the Primal Grounds Landscapes The first part will be up as soon as possible. And I'm definately still working on Primal Grounds, in fact, I'm adjusting the images right now! Bye!

Wow, this is going to be great, I just know it (: If I like it, can I please base a youtube tutorial off of this? I've made one about landscaping in the past but I didn't like it very much, but hopefully this may give me some ideas. I'll give you the credits though, I don't want to be involved in plageurism (: |

GASP! You mean you never saw this back at Caldera? XD Of course you can do a video of it, I was going to in the past, but I didn't, so I officialy give the rights to Tom to make a video of the guide and put it on YouTube. 'solemnly hands over certificate' And, class, time for our first lesson! XD ___________________________________________________ CHAPTER 1: RIVERS Okay, here's the first part! I am going to make a sort of moat, in a circle, so I can show you the techniques, but if you do a straight river, the principle is exactly the same. ____________________________________________________ Firstly, paint a shallow strip of water. ![]() Then, raise the land on one side of the river, but not too much. It should look like this:- ![]() Flatten it out, till it covers the area you want to raise. It looks untidy, doesn't it? ![]() So, we smooth out the area (for me it's an island). Continuously smooth it till this effect is obtained:- ![]() Looks much better, right? We still have the other side to raise though. Do the exact same as before, though you maight want to raise it slightly higher for a slope effect. Rivers often have slopes leading into the water; animals use this to slide into the river. ![]() Then, smooth out as before. This should be the result:- ![]() Now for foliage. You should start out with semi-aquatic foliage, then the aquatic foliage, and finally land foliage. Here, I've added spike grass, mixed in with salt meadow cord-grass. Sophie's foliage placement hack comes in useful here. Semi-aquatic foliage:- ![]() With aquatic foliage:- ![]() Now for land foliage, I quickly scatter daisies, which look very good in grassland rivers. ![]() If you're making a moat like me, then you should use more foliage on the island, but more trees on the mainland. Now add trees and rocks. I recommend using the algae rocks from Island Excursions in the water, as they look natural. As for trees, more near the watter, less further away. If you're making an island like me, use a maximum of only three trees on the island. Here is the result:- ![]() And, you're done! The finished river is a haven for animals like the beaver and flamingo. ![]() The finished landscape:- ![]() Thanks for reading! Next time I'll show you how to make perfect (almost) hills, and how to block zoo fences neatly, like in the ARC! Any questions, you may ask here! FAQ- Are you still working on Primal Park? Yes. Is this going to delay Primal Park updates? No. Are you single? WTF? When will this end? When all 10 chapters are done. Then maybe I'll do book 2. = ) Will you release these maps? :hwink: Wait and see! Bye! ________________________________________________________________ |

It's really beautiful, you used perfect foliage. Can I ask you where did you get the tree you used? |
