I'll have the Africa aviary pics ready tonight. Still working on the SE Asia and New Guinea Aviary. I worked extra hard on the African aviary, I hope my har work pays off. And yes-it's mostly birds, but I'll go take pics of the fish that I can share too. |

Yep, more birdies. Africa Aviary You head to the next aviary area in the zoo. (After this, there's just the tiny SE asia one.) The exterior is a WIP, there isn't much African foliage and I only have the ingame ones to work with. I think parts look bare, so please tell me what I should add.

(It's still under construction in here, btw, so please tell me what to add. I think it looks bare.) You head to the first exhibit, one with a large pond. You look inside, and at first, all you see are the keepers. ![]() You look in closer and see several pink and white birds. They're flamingos, both Lesser and Greater. Lesser tend to be whiter in color, and of course smaller.

Sorry I didn't see your post Francix. I got both the Crested Ibis and Griffon Vultyre from a pack that was at caldera called North Asian Beauties. I'll see if I can put it on my mediafire account for you. The animals are seperate .z2fs, so you can put in the ones you want. There are several signs placed around that say "No feeding." Not that you were planning to, but it is advised against because according to the keepers the birds in here become aggresive when they see food. ![]() (These following birds are camera shy) You look into the next exhibit and see two birds darting around, and both are rather tall. They're Kori Bustards,Ardeotis kori, one of the largest flying birds, along with their cousin the Great Bustard you viewed earlier on.

The next exhibit you view is rather large, and many birds are seen moving inside, but the thing that catches your eyes first are several Abdim's Storks, Ciconia abdimii, standing completely still in the water, like statues, until one moves its head to preen itself.![]() In the same exhibit you then go to view several birds feeding from an artificial anthill. The first, a brown bird, is a Hammerkop,Scopus umbretta, or hammerhead stork. ![]() |

Other birds you see eating are Hadada Ibises, Bostrychia hagedash, a very common african ibis.![]() The last bird in the exhibit is a Southern Ground Hornbill, Bucorvus leadbeateri, an aggresive hornbill that lives in flocks with usually one male and a lek of females.

But that's not all there is in this aviary. The next exhibit you view has a flock of Vulturine Guineafowl, Acryllium vulturinum, named for their ugly bald heads.![]() Next are Secretary Birds, Sagittarius serpentarius), while at first they look like cranes or storks, they're actually birds of prey, and instead of flying they choose to pursue their prey, such as snakes, by running on their long legs. ![]() |
