That's great news!!! It's good to hear that we can still see this. |
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.![]() If you want a banner like mine, then click on the banner to visit my graphics thread. | |

As promised, here are some new arial shots, so that you can see how all the new elevated viewing platforms have created and how the Cat Sanctuary has been developing... The latest map overview.. ![]() This shows the main thoroughfare from the entrance, past the Brazilian Jaguars, (bottom left), the fountains, and leads to the Bengal Tiger exhibit... ![]() This view taken from above the White Bengal Tigers shows the new viewing platform that over looks the Tiger's jungle pools and crosses the Wetlands zone... ![]() Here is a view from above the Florida Panther enclosure, (bottom left) looking across the Cat Sanctuary. To the right of the Panther enclosure is the new Sumatran Tiger showcase, whilst in the top right, we can just catch a glimpse of the home of our Javan Leopards.... ![]() This is an arial shot of the beautiful tropical waterfall that is the lifeblood to the Sanctuary. At the bottom of the photo, the roofs of the new Gazebo fence can be seen, which give visitors the chance to view our exotic wetland birds at such close quarters... ![]() |

As we walk around the edge of the Wetlands, dense tropical foliage and exotic birdlife is always in view..![]() The elevated viewing platform that will take us across the Sanctuary is ahead. We notice that the platform is actually constructed around giant African Mangosteen trees, and they are so tall they are actually towering through and above the elevated walkway... ![]() Just as we are about to climb onto the walkway, we notice a birdwatching Gazebo hidden away beneath tropical Guava trees... ![]() Its a lovely view from the viewing platform. Can't wait to cross into that side of the Sanctuary to see Black & Javan Leopards, as well as the Sumatran Tigers...

I love this zoo. It looks so tropical and you used the foliage very well. I also like the amount of space the guests have. Everything is so spacious and that looks good .

@Sophie - It is special because you are without doubt one of the very best Zoo designers. So to win your approval is great..!! After crossing the viewing platform we are now in the Eastern part of the Sanctuary, and that means that the first enclosure that we see is that of the African Black Leopards. Unusually for this secretive cat, they are making a lot of noise today. Their distinctive sawing roar can be heard echoing across the Sanctuary. Maybe Bundu the female is ready to mate with Baridi the Black Leopard male. A photo of Baridi patrolling his territory.....A typically rocky Leopard lugga. ![]() Baridi calls to his female, Bundu... ![]() And Bundu responds with her own throaty call...

Now its time to visit the rare Javan Leopard enclosure.. This is a snapshot of our handsome male Javan Leopard, called Tegal... ![]() Serang is our female and this is a nice photo of her, showing how beautiful she is in her natural environment... ![]() Whilst this is probably the best photo ever taken of Serang... ![]() |

In the enclosure next to the Javan Leopards are our two new Sumatran Tigers. Here Banda & Sabang devour a buffalo carcass that they have been given by their keeper... ![]() A lovely portrait of Banda, our ferocious male Sumatran Tiger... ![]() Anyway, I am quite happy with the Cat portraits that I have posted to this thread, and will try to get some nice shots of the Florida Panthers and the Borneo Clouded Leopards posted later, to complete the Cat's gallery... |
